Ceasing and Firing

The only ceasefire I want to hear about is the permanent ceasing of Hamas and Hezbollah by Israel; and the firing of that disgraceful Kofi Annan.

Israel should not have had to apologize for the strike on Qana that left civilians dead. That's war. Why isn't the United Nothings condemning Hezbollah for using civilians as shields? And do we ever hear apologies from terrorists after they deliberately murder innocent Israeli civilians? Has anyone ever heard an apology for
September 11? I didn't think so.

The double standard is sickening.

Condemning Israel for Qana

Here we go again. Hezbollah hides behind women and children during their despicable attacks on Israelis, and as usual, Kofi Annan prefers to condemn Israel for retaliating. Thankfully, U.S.Ambassador John Bolton will block the resolution. You'll notice there are no resolutions condemning Hezbollah.

Read Powerline to see how the smug, anti-Israel media has twisted the facts about the collapse of the building in Qana, and the deaths of the women and children used as human shields inside. The IDF had dropped leaflets warning Lebanese civilians to leave -- but of course Kofi Annan has conveniently overlooked that fact.

I'd love to see a resolution condemning the United Nations and Kofi Annan, for their uselessness and for their obvious bias against Israel.

Antisemites Unanimous

First a Muslim goes on an antisemitic killing spress in Seattle. Now comes word that actor Mel Gibson uttered an antisemitic tirade after his arrest for drunk driving. But of course he didn't mean it -- it was the liquor talking!

Steve Sabludowsky, founder of the Louisiana Bayoubuzz.com, connects these two antisemites in the following item:

Seattle Jewish Shooter, Mel Gibson Should Share Cell
http://www.bayoubuzz.com/articles.aspx?aid=7762

On Friday, at least five people were shot, one of them fatally, at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. Reportedly, a witness said that the man said he was a Muslim who was angry at Israel.

Reportedly, staff members said they overheard him saying “´I am a Muslim American, angry at Israel,”

Next Mel Gibson who was arrested for DUI, the creator of the “Passion of The Christ” apparently from a witness became a self-imposed lethal weapon. Reports are “Apparently, he went on a rampage against Jews, whom he thinks are responsible “for all the wars in the world.” Gibson also cursed and reportedly said “f****** Jews” and asked the deputy who pulled him over whether he was a Jew. Next he said "You motherf****r. I´m going to f*** you," threatening to flex his celebrity muscles to get back at the officer.

If all of this was not so serious, the two could have shared their thoughts and hatreds while sitting in the same jail cell.

The American Muslim has given himself up and is now in prison. Gibson also faces a jail sentence.

Muslim Targets Jews: Terrorism in Seattle

The Muslim shooter killed one and wounded five, said he was angry over what was going on in Israel -- and the authorities don't know if the shootings were politically motivated?!

Let's see how the media manages to cover this tragedy without identifying the murderer as a Muslim. And let's see if they try to explain it all away by discussing "root causes" and a sad childhood.

Can you just imagine the media uproar if a Jewish man had committed this crime against Muslims? You know that would surely result in a "disproportionate response" -- by the media.

Several people shot at Jewish Federation in Seattle

One shooter is confirmed and in custody, he said. As of yet he said there is no motive. It's not yet known if the incident is politically motivated.

Kudos to Krauthammer

Here's an excerpt from another excellent editorial from Charles Krauthammer, who I admire very much. He's a fine writer, and he gets right to the point. The rules of war seem to have been changed only because the people at war are Israelis. As I've said before, Jews are the only people with whom it is perfectly acceptable to be politically incorrect. Beating Jews, killing Israelis, blowing up buses -- there's no outrage. But putting panties on the head of Iraqi prisoners? There's the outrage. The media is driving this war, and using it as if it is a reality TV show. I expect to see Lebanese evacuees crying on Oprah any day now.

Let Israel Win the War
By Charles Krauthammer

WASHINGTON -- What other country, when attacked in an unprovoked aggression across a recognized international frontier, is then put on a countdown clock by the world, given a limited time window in which to fight back, regardless of whether it has restored its own security?

What other country sustains 1,500 indiscriminate rocket attacks into its cities -- every one designed to kill, maim and terrorize civilians -- and is then vilified by the world when it tries to destroy the enemy's infrastructure and strongholds with precision-guided munitions that sometimes have the unintended but unavoidable consequence of collateral civilian death and suffering?

Hearing the world pass judgment on the Israel-Hezbollah war as it unfolds is to live in an Orwellian moral universe. With a few significant exceptions (the leadership of the United States, Britain, Australia, Canada and a very few others), the world -- governments, the media, U.N. bureaucrats -- has completely lost its moral bearings.

Politically Correct Antisemitism

Tongue Tied, along with Political Correctness Watch (http://pcwatch.blogspot.com/), focuses on some of the more egregious examples of politically correct lunacy around the world. Here's an outrageous incident of antisemitism in Norway, where the people seem to have let the Muslims take over their country.

(Someone ought to create a new map of Europe. Instead of showing the Axis occupation as a black swath across that continent during WW2,
[http://www.dwightdeisenhower.com/spykit/images/Map1.jpg], the map can show the Muslim-dominated countries.)

http://www.tonguetied.us/

Incorrect to Speak Hebrew in Norway

Thanks to Norway's community of Muslim "refugees":

"The Mosaic Religious Community has advised its Jewish members against speaking Hebrew loudly on the streets of Oslo or wearing Jewish emblems. The suggestion has infuriated some in the membership. It comes after a Jewish man wearing a kippah, or yarmulke, was assaulted on an Oslo street Saturday".

It's a sad day when the language of the Old Testament can get you attacked.

"Christians United for Israel"

In the face of all the daily vitriol, bile, condemnation, and attacks on Israel from the United Nations and seemingly everyone else, it was a bit of a relief to read today about the new pro-Israel group called Christians United for Israel. Arutz Sheva has a small article about this group, which is run by the TV evangelist John Hagee of Texas.

We need all the friends we can get.

More Jewish Antisemitism

I had heard about this "Rabbi" but could hardly believe my ears, so I did a Google search and found the incredible statement below. Jewish antisemites like Weiss and England's Gerald Kaufman are even more loathsome than gentile antisemites; at least with the latter, you expect it.

"The Zionists have created a situation where there is an endless situation of bloodshed. The root cause of all this suffering is the state of Israel," said Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss of Neturei Karta International, a Jewish group opposing Zionism as being against Judaism.

A Politically Correct War

This morning before I went to work, I caught a few minutes of the morning show "Fox and Friends". Someone named Mike Evans was reporting from Israel, and he was almost apoplectic as he tried to describe how evil Hamas, Hezbollah, and their allies are, and how much suffering Israel has endured. You could see, just by the way he was starting to form the word, that he really wanted to call the terrorists "bastards" --but he restrained himself and kept saying, "I shouldn't say it. I shouldn't say it". I shouted at the TV, "Say it! Say it!" Then, his internal struggle over, he said something like, "I'll have to use another word" and instead called these ruthless,
cold-blooded, antisemetic murderers "characters"! Characters! What a dumbed-down, meaningless word! Since when do "characters" behead people and fly jets into skyscrapers?

We are in serious trouble when people are so afraid to hurt the feelings of the enemy.

Q: When is a Jew not a Jew?

A: When he's Gerald Kaufman, Member of British Parliament with a Muslim constituency, and a rabid antisemite!

His article in the Daily Mail is titled "As a Jew, I am grieved to ask the question, but I must: will Israel never learn?"

Another Way to Support Israel

Visit http://www.all4israel.org and purchase 10 blue and white "We Stand as One" bracelets for $20. I received mine today. For the past year, I have also worn their silver memorial bracelet. These bracelets are inscribed with the name of an Israeli murdered by terrorists. Mine says "St.Sgt.Ari Yehoshua Weiss, killed by terrorists
9-30-02, Age 21". It's a shame there's a need for such things, but it's also important to remind people of what Israelis have gone through every day of Israel's existence.

And in the mail today I saw something I never thought I would ever see. My German penpal, knowing I am Jewish, intentionally used a certain postage stamp. Half of the stamp shows the Israeli flag, the other half shows the German flag. The text, in German and Hebrew, says "40 years of diplomatic relations with Israel"!

Ambassador Bolton Speaks Up

I once heard a line about cease-fires that said something like, "Israel ceases, and the terrorists fire". Israel always gives, always shows restraint, and for what? As for Ambassador Bolton, I admire him and his plain talk. It makes me wonder why the Democrats so bitterly opposed his confirmation, even stooping to attacking his hair and choice of tie!

http://www.iris.org.il/blog/archives/1571-UN-Ambassador-Bolton-How-Do-You-Get-a-Cease-fire-with-a-Terrorist-Organization.html

"The simple reflexive action of asking for a cease-fire is not something that's really appropriate in a situation like this," U.S. Ambassador John Bolton told reporters Wednesday. "How do you get a cease-fire with a terrorist organization? I'm not sure anybody's ever done that before, and I'm not sure it's possible."

Congressman Tom Lantos, Friend of Israel

Democratic House member Tom Lantos of California is giving a rousing speech in favor of Israel live on C-SPAN right now. A very eloquent Holocaust survivor, his words
in support of H.RES.921 have been very moving. HR. 921 is "condemning the recent attacks against the State of Israel, holding terrorists and their state-sponsors accountable for such attacks, supporting Israel's right to defend itself, and for other purposes." Rep.Lantos is one of the co-sponsors of this bill. I can't wait to read the text of his remarks. I wish I knew shorthand, but one of the things he said was that Hezbollah was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Iran, and Iran of course has been boasting of wiping Israel off the map. He spoke about the old notion of land for peace but said this should now be referred to as land for war.

"Betsy's Page" is a terrific weblog I read daily. Go there now and read her analysis of the brouhaha over President Bush's use of the s-word in his chat with Tony Blair. God bless Eretz Israel. The Hamas terrorists provoked them mercilessly. Hamas fired rockets and mortars at Israel every single day since Israel gave Gaza back to the Palestinian Authority. An Open Letter to the World, from Israel

My aunt forwarded this to me; unfortunately I don't know the source of it, but it sure sums up the history of the Jewish people and of Israel. Pass it on. Those who wish to destroy Israel won't get it, but we Jews can certainly appreciate the sentiment.

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE WORLD, FROM ISRAEL

7/16/06

Dear World, I understand that you are upset by us, here in Israel.

Indeed, it appears that you are quite upset, even angry.

Indeed, every few years you seem to become upset by us. Today, it is
the "brutal repression of the Palestinians"; yesterday it was Lebanon;
before that it was the bombing of the nuclear reactor in Baghdad and
the Yom Kippur War and the Sinai campaign. It appears that Jews who
triumph and who, therefore, live, upset you most extraordinarily.

Of course, dear world, long before there was an Israel, we - the
Jewish people - upset you.

We upset a German people who elected Hitler and upset an Austrian
people who cheered his entry into Vienna and we upset a whole slew of
Slavic nations - Poles, Slovaks, Lithuanians, Ukrainians, Russians,
Hungarians and Romanians. And we go back a long, long way in the
history of world upset.

We upset the Cossacks of Chmielnicki who massacred tens of thousands
of us in 1648-49; we upset the Crusaders who, on their way to liberate
the Holy Land, were so upset at Jews that they slaughtered untold
numbers of us.

For centuries, we upset a Roman Catholic Church that did its best to
define our relationship through inquisitions, and we upset the
arch-enemy of the church, Martin Luther, who, in his call to burn the
synagogues and the Jews within them, showed an admirable Christian
ecumenical spirit.

And it is because we became so upset over upsetting you, dear world,
that we decided to leave you - in a manner of speaking - and establish
a Jewish state. The reasoning was that living in close contact with
you, as resident-strangers in the various countries that comprise you,
we upset you, irritate you and disturb you. What better notion, then,
than to leave you (and thus love you)- and have you love us and so, we
decided to come home - home to the same land we were driven out 1,900
years earlier by a Roman world that, apparently, we also upset.

Alas, dear world, it appears that you are hard to please.

Having left you and your pogroms and inquisitions and crusades and
holocausts, having taken our leave of the general world to live alone
in our own little state, we continue to upset you. You are upset that
we repress the poor Palestinians. You are deeply angered over the fact
that we do not give up the lands of 1967, which are clearly the
obstacle to peace in the Middle East

Moscow is upset and Washington is upset. The "radical" Arabs are upset
and the gentle Egyptian moderates are upset.

Well, dear world, consider the reaction of a normal Jew from Israel.

In 1920 and 1921 and 1929, there were no territories of 1967 to impede
peace between Jews and Arabs. Indeed, there was no Jewish State to
upset anybody Nevertheless, the same oppressed and repressed
Palestinians slaughtered tens of Jews in Jerusalem, Jaffa, Safed and
Hebron.Indeed, 67 Jews were slaughtered one day in Hebron in 1929.

Dear world, why did the Arabs - the Palestinians - massacre 67 Jews in
one day in 1929? Could it have been their anger over Israeli
aggression in 1967? And why were 510 Jewish men, women and children
slaughtered in Arab riots between 1936-39? Was it because Arabs were
upset over 1967?

And when you, dear world, proposed a UN Partition Plan in 1947 that
would have created a "Palestinian State" alongside a tiny Israel and
the Arabs cried "no" and went to war and killed 6,000 Jews - was that
"upset" caused by the aggression of 1967? And, by the way, dear world,
why did we not hear your cry of "upset" then?

The poor Palestinians who today kill Jews with explosives and
firebombs and stones are part of the same people who when they had
all the territories they now demand be given to them for their state
-attempted to drive the Jewish state into the sea. The same twisted
faces, the same hate, the same cry of "itbach-al-yahud" (Massacre the
Jew!) that we hear and see today, were seen and heard then. The same
people, the same dream - destroy Israel. What they failed to do
yesterday, they dream of today, but we should not "repress" them.

Dear world, you stood by during the holocaust and you stood by in 1948
as seven states launched a war that the Arab League proudly compared
to the Mongol massacres.

You stood by in 1967 as Nasser, wildly cheered by wild mobs in every
Arab capital in the world, vowed to drive the Jews into the sea. And
you would stand by tomorrow if Israel were facing extinction.

And since we know that the Arabs-Palestinians dream daily of that
extinction, we will do everything possible to remain alive in our own
land. If that bothers you, dear world, well think of how many times
in the past you bothered us.

In any event, dear world, if you are bothered by us, here is one Jew
in Israel who could not care less.

Israel has to protect itself

It is obvious from opinions recently expressed by your correspondents Messrs Boyle and Naylor that many of the points they raised are based on the one-sided information gleaned from TV reports on the Middle East, particularly from the BBC. What is not reported is that daily Palestinian terrorists launch rockets blindly into Israel killing many (also!) innocent women and children.
Israel does not plant young people on buses or in cafes to blow themselves up and kill or mame innocent people. Israel does not kidnap (against the Geneva Convention, Mr Boyes) young men. This small country is surrounded by Arab countries who have one goal – to wipe Israel off the map.
Israel has no option but to constantly protect her people by any means at their disposal.

Might Makes Right

Israel must do whatever it takes to defend herself against an enemy whose goal is to wipe Israel off the map. The Palestinians; Hamas; Hezbollah -- these are the new Nazis. Peace talks? Diplomacy? What a farce -- all the handshakes and agreements by every President have been a charade. The Palestinians and their allies understand only death & destruction, so let's give them a demonstration. All Jews must show solidarity with Israel at this crucial time.

Caring About the Palestinians

John Hawkins of Right Wing News posts about the Palestians, below. I agree, except for one thing: I will never start caring about what happens to the Palestinians. If anyone starts feeling sympathetic, I suggest they refresh their memories by looking at the pictures of the Palestinians celebrating on September 11, 2001.

Photos here at Gamla.org (http://www.gamla.org.il/english/feature/cel.htm)

At Mideast truth (http://www.mideasttruth.com/video.html), scroll down to "Celebrating 9/11" for the sickening video

====================================================

http://www.rightwingnews.com/

You know when I'll start caring about what happens to the Palestinians?

1) When they recognize Israel's existence and start adding Israel to their maps.
2) When they stop selecting terrorists to run their government.
3) When they disarm all the terrorist groups.
4) When the Palestinian people stop backing kidnappings, suicide bombings, and terrorist attacks.
5) When they stop naming streets after "martyrs" and glorifying them.
6) When they stop teaching their kids every day in school to murder the Israelis.
7) When they stop trying to demographically destroy Israel via the Right of Return.

As far as I'm concerned, until the Palestinian people stop advocating the destruction of Israel and quit supporting groups that deliberately try to slaughter Israeli civilians, they deserve anything and everything that happens to them short of genocide.

"The Hope and the Siege"

This is an excerpt from "The Hope and The Siege", an important sermon on American Jews and Israel, featured at The American Thinker. It's yet another wakeup call, so please pass it on

http://www.americanthinker.com/articles.php?article_id=5655

Jewish Americans are optimistic people, as are Americans in general. Most of us either came from somewhere else or our parents and grandparents came here from somewhere else to achieve a better life in America. And we have by and large prospered in America. As Herman Wouk said in his stirring novel Inside Outside, America has been the Golden Medinah for the Jews who were fortunate enough to get here. But optimism does not have to mean false hope, or softness in the face of threats.

A large part of the worldwide Jewish people remains under siege today, in Israel, 58 years after the Jewish state was restored. Unlike any other state in the world, Israel is the target of boycott campaigns, daily terrorism, and threats from its neighbors, threats that include annihilation. The normalcy that was sought as a nation in 1948 has not yet arrived, much as Israelis go about their daily business and build their lives. We need to engage with Israel’s struggle, and help provide the political, strategic and personal support to insure that they are never alone.

Another Terror Plot Revealed

The FBI has foiled another frightening plot in which New York's Holland Tunnel would be blown up, and the financial district flooded.

http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/fbi_foils_path_plot_regionalnews_.htm

Even though the chief Lebanese terrorist has confessed, I'm willing to bet the media once again will try to dumb the plot down and imply that it wasn't a serious threat. It must irk the press no end to admit that the FBI is doing its job; and that the Bush Administration has staved off another horror.

Meanwhile, the British held a moment of silence to mark the first anniversary of the July 7 terrorist attacks.

Never forget.

The Mission: Destroy Israel

Here are two excellent columns about the war against Israel. How can anyone still believe that you can negotiate with people whose whole reason for being is to kill you?

Victor Davis Hanson talks about what so many of us are always wondering about.

http://jewishworldreview.com/0706/hanson070606.php3

...You'd expect these terrorist attacks on Israel to be viewed by responsible nations as similar to the jihadist violence we read about daily around the world — radical Islamists beheading Russian diplomats over Chechnya, plotting to do the same to the Canadian prime minister or threatening murder over insensitive Danish cartoons. Israel is always seen as a special exception that somehow deserves what it gets. Other states can retaliate with impunity, brutally killing thousands of Muslim terrorists, while Israel is condemned when it takes out a few dozen.

When Palestinians Attack

The Palestinians sent a rocket into a (thankfully) empty Israeli high school.

Something tells me that even if the school had been occupied and children killed, Israel herself would have been condemned for retaliating.

I think the United Nations would go out of business if they didn't have Israel to censure and condemn. You notice that they never speak out against the Palestinians, whose terror attacks are the reason for the retaliation in the first place.
