Jihadist Parenting Skills

Dr. Spock they're not: Islamic State releases guide for how to raise jihadi children.  I sure hope they'll use the popular "How to stab a Jew" video.

Celebrity News

Here's a great uplifting article from the New York Daily News: "The Year of Taylor Swift: How the singer gave back to fans in the best ways ever." Not only is she talented, modest, and genuinely nice,  she doesn't feel the need to seek attention by way of the twerking, vulgarity, obscenity, sex tapes, nudity, and other shameless methods that talentless, desperate female "stars" use. It's always been refreshing to read about her.

I was sad to read about the death of Edward Herrmann. I'd never seen "Gilmore Girls" in my life -- for me, he was Franklin Roosevelt.

Pope Obama

I thought I was hearing things when this news was broadcast: "Pope Francis to Catholics: It’s time to take action on global warming."

It's a Real Crime

Thanks, Obama, Sharpton, De Blasio and others! Thanks to your incitements, cops in the New York Police Department are now afraid to act like cops. "While the New York Police Department has continued its work of policing dangerous and violent criminal activity, quality of life policing has nearly come to a complete halt when statistics from December 20 to December 30, 2013 are compared with that same period this year." The only New Yorkers who are happy about this are the criminals.

Top Antisemites of the Year

Here's a list of the antisemitic outrages of 2014. (See more here at the Simon Weisenthal Center website.) That hideous Belgian "doctor" was the winner.  This is one top ten list I'd rather not even exist, but you can be sure there will be more such outrages in 2015.

Banning "Exodus" in Egypt

This is so typical of the Arabs that it's almost funny: "Egyptian Culture Minister Jabir Asfour slammed the film as 'Zionist', saying, according to CNN, 'It shows history from a Zionist viewpoint and forges historical events, therefore it is was banned in Egypt.'" Yes, it's definitely Zionist to show Pharoah as a slavemaster and show the Jews as the recipients of a miracle by God. They don't call us the Chosen People for nothing!

Flight QZ8501: Hoping For Better News

We still don't an an explanation for the disappearance of Malaysia flight MH370, and now comes word of a missing AirAsia flight QZ8501 from Indonesia to Singapore with 155 people on board. We can only hope for a better outcome for the families later today, but so far it sounds eerily familiar.

News From The Alternate White House

James Raider has a good column called Selling Illusions, about Obama's recent lies that there will be no further terrorist attacks in Afghanistan, and that the world is safer and more prosperous than ever since he took office. He also said the other day that America is less racially divided now than before he became President. I don't know what alternate universe he lives in, or how he keeps a straight face when he utters these lies, but Gruber's stupid Americans keep falling for them. And the media is now calling Obama "the comeback kid" and saying his legacy is assured, etc. This is more of a hoax than that "The Interview" movie!

(Cartoon by Kevin Siers)

A Solid Blue Wall

Just as Americans united against the terrorists after September 11, we unite against domestic terrorism, which includes premeditated cop-killing, race-baiting, and the environment that encourages it.  You can't reason with terrorists, and you can't reason with liberals who prefer to blame everything on racism.

Here are photos from the funeral of Officer Ramos, with 23,000 police in attendance and in solidarity.

Watcher's Council News

The Council has spoken! Here are the latest Watcher's Council results.  The Council winner is Joshuapundit's What Christmas Really Means, And Why The Left Hates It.   The non-Council winner is Heather MacDonald/City Journal's The Big Lie of the Anti-Cop Left Turns Lethal submitted by The Watcher.

Can you guess who the Weasel of the Week is?  You're right: it's Mayor Bill De Blasio!

Catch up with the latest news and gossip at Betsy's Page, Maggie's Farm, and Larwyn's Linx.

I hope you said "Merry Christmas" today and didn't end up like this idiot:    "A passenger was tossed off a plane at La Guardia Airport on Tuesday after flipping out — because airline workers wished him a merry Christmas."

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

As Gerald D. Skoning writes in his enjoyable column, "Just days until Christmas, and I’ve heard enough 'Happy Holidays!' greetings to last a few lifetimes.  So, Merry Christmas everyone! Yes, that’s right, Merry Christmas! I’m done with that PC 'Happy Holidays' greeting that has dominated over the past several decades. I haven’t heard a hearty Merry Christmas in years. Why, even Santa has succumbed to the generic mantra, 'HO, HO, HO, Happy Holidays!' Bah, humbug. It’s just not right."

(Actually, since it's less about religion now and more about buying expensive gifts, how about saying Happy Shopmas?)

Support Our Police!

It made me sick to see vile anti-police protesters in New York tonight, as if the assassinations of those two policemen never happened! Some brazen communist leader, Travis Morales, had despicable signs saying "Stop police brutality and murder", but not "Stop assassinations of police."  Read this article and tell me who the real villains are.

I'm sending a donation to help the families of the executed cops. Here's how you can help.

Looking Back

Greg Crosby gives us another nostalgic look back to the good old days. As our society grows increasingly more warped and unrecognizable, it's these memories that help sustain us.

He writes, "At this nostalgic time of year I think of things that are gone. Thoughts of those things that have passed away are bittersweet. Sad longings on the one hand, coupled with a heart filled with warmth and comfort as I recall them. Traveling back in memory is like the Doris Day tune, 'Sentimental Journey.' It's a sentimental journey home. And as long as the grey matter continues to function properly it's a wonderful trip."

Tribute to the Police

Now this is more like it!  "'In this time of tragic loss for the NYPD and all New Yorkers, we stand here with you,' [Rabbi Avi] Weiss declared at the vigil. 'You, the New York Police Department, are New York City’s finest – a racially diverse force.  Every day, you risk your lives for us.  You protect our synagogues, our churches, our mosques, our institutions, our businesses, our homes – for this and much more we are eternally grateful.'"

Don't listen to the media, the hatemongers, and the liberals who have so demonized the heroes who protect us from the likes of Ismaaiyl Brinsley.  You don't like  it here? Go move to one of these dangerous countries and hope there are policemen there who will protect you when you call for help.

Lighting Up The World

Here are some beautiful photographs of Hanukah menorahs in Jerusalem... and in Italy.

How's This For Chutzpah?

Al Sharpton has the nerve to consider himself the victim in the murders of the two Brooklyn policemen! If MSNBC has any decency at all, they will cancel his TV show. Why give more air time to this inflammatory race baiter and charlatan?

(If you have any hope that our society can begin to recover from the damage of these disastrous Obama years, you had better not vote Democrat in 2016.)

Their Blood is On Your Hands

Gunman kills self after 2 NYPD cops fatally shot ‘execution style’ as ‘revenge’ for Garner.
Thank you, Al Sharpton, Bill DeBlasio, and company. You are partly responsible for the deliberate assassination of these cops.
Let's see if Obama and the media rush to condemn these brazen police foes as quickly as they condemned the cops in the cases of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.  And there is no comparison whatsoever between the two.

Friends of Israel

While America under Obama treats Israel so contemptuously, it's a relief to read stories like this one at Ynetnews (via The Algemeiner):

"Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted a happy Hanukkah in both English and Hebrew to to Jews around the world Friday.
Since Modi came to power in May, ties between Israel and India have been in overdrive, with the two signing a series of defence and technology deals that have underscored their burgeoning commercial and political relationship."

Long may that relationship continue!

Watcher's Council Winners

The Council has spoken! Here are the latest Watcher's Council results. The 1st place Council winner is Nice Deb's Sheriff Clark: After Obama, We’re Going To Need A “Period Of Reconstruction To Put The Country Back Together”.

The 1st place Non-Council winner is Kurt Schlichter's Nothing Succeeds Like Liberal Secession, submitted by The Razor.

With Obama "normalizing" relations with Cuba (Daniel J. Flynn refers to this as "Communists' Best Week Ever") and attacking the CIA for doing its job, the Watcher's Council will have more weasels to watch than usual!

Helpful Yiddish

I enjoy Harold Ticktin's "Yiddish Vinkl" column, and I partularly got a kick out of this anecdote:  “Expressions Mr. Jacobs considers useful for the alert salesman’s repertoire as he ventures into Jewish territory include yahrzeit, mikvah, ungeblozzen, neshomeleh, mach schnell, Eretz Israel, rebbe, tzaddik, goy, oy gevalt, paskudnik, yichus, kappora, tfillin, shlepper, sheitel” (from review of book about Joseph Jacobs, 'Marketing Consultants' on reaching Jewish consumers;  commentarymagazine.com/article/on-the-horizon-one-touch-of-yiddish/".

Lots 'o Links

It's time to wind up the week with the latest news from Betsy's Page, Maggie's Farm, and Larwyn's Linx.  Also, make sure you read Charles Hurt's column on Obama and Cuba: "So this is what foreign policy by Beyoncé looks like".

Did you know that Obama is Jewish in his soul? Neither did I. Read the comments, including this one: "Too bad his soul doesn't influence his foreign policy."

The Weasel of the Week is "Squeaker of the House, Obama Doormat and RINO extraordinaire John Boehner!!"

Hacks and Flacks

Does anyone besides me think that possibly the hacking of Sony, possibly by North Korea, is nothing more than a publicity stunt to get people to go see a lousy dud of a movie; or a crazy hoax?  After all, hasn't the media fallen recently for a fake rape story and a fake 17 year old Wall Street tycoon?  And hasn't a video been the blamed for Benghazi?  The longer this Sony story goes on, the more farfetched it's seemed, at least to skeptical me.

Argus Hamilton Quips

I think the reason Obama wants to normalize relations with Cuba is because that's one country he hasn't vacationed in yet!  I can't wait to see what Argus Hamilton thinks of this.

In the meantime, read his latest column, which includes such items as this: "Senator Elizabeth Warren emerged as a leftist hero Friday when she ripped the White House for rolling back Wall Street reform in the budget bill. She's one to watch. Her claim of Native American blood is highly disputed, but she might run for president under her Indian name, Dances with Marxism."

Still Think America's the Problem?

Gunbattle ends in Peshawar: 132 kids among 141 dead in Taliban attack, 7 terrorists killed.   Meanwhile, Americans have the nerve to criticize American "torture" of savages like the Taliban and have the gall to talk about America being "unjust". The more these spiteful liberal fools talk, the more the enemy will take advantage of our self-imposed paralysis.

Slaughter in Sdney

In this clip, I didn't hear Prime Minister Abbott use the word "terrorism", just the mild word "incident." "There are lessons to be learnt", he said.  One lesson should be to call Islamic terrorism what is it. Instead of marching against cops, people should be marching against terrorists.

Speak Very Softly & Don't Carry Any Stick

I saw this at the UK Telegraph yesterday but couldn't access the article because I had reached my monthly limit.  However, the headline says enough: Don't yell at terrorist suspects, soldiers told.  You can read more here at the RT:

"Colonel Tim Collins who served in the Iraq war said lawyers have effectively stopped the military from doing their job. “The effect of the ambulance-chasing lawyers and the play-it-safe judges is that we have got to the point where we have lost our operational capability to do tactical questioning,” he told the Telegraph.

“These insurgents are not nice people. These are criminals. They behead people; they keep sex slaves. They are not normal people.”
Lord West, the former First Sea Lord and national security adviser echoed his words: “While these insurgents are chopping people’s heads off and raping women, the idea they can take us to court because somebody shouted at them is ridiculous.”

This political correctness is only harming us and helping terrorists and criminals! It's a Pandora's Box with no end unless someone speaks up -- loudly!

Hooray for Caroline Glick!

Watch this spirited defense of Israel, and a great retort to the Danish ambassador, by Caroline Glick (via Instrapundit.)

Commemorating the Battle of the Bulge

Celebrating the Greatest Generation: "Queen Mathilde and King Philippe throw nuts into the crowds of well-wishers who braved the wintery conditions to pay tribute to American troops who defended the Ardennes in 1944."  I'm assuming that's a reference to General McAuliffe, who, when demanded by the Nazis to surrender, replied "Nuts!"

That's what we should say now to those apologists and defeatists in our government who think America is the problem.

Watcher's Council Weasel of the Week

The recipient of the Golden Weasel statuette of shame as Weasel of the Week is Rolling Stone magazine. They deserve the dishonor. However, I can't understand why the perpetrator of the hoax, "Jackie", isn't receiving her share of the blame. Without this liar, there would have been no Rolling Stone article at all. It's like blaming Gruber rather than Obama for Obamacare.

You DID Build That!

Here are some truly amazing World War II production statistics, as seen at American Digest:

"During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945,  "We the People of the U.S.A." produced the following:

22 aircraft carriers,
8 battleships,
48 cruisers,
349 destroyers,
420 destroyer escorts,
203 submarines,
34 million tons of merchant ships,
100,000 fighter aircraft,
98,000 bombers,
24,000 transport aircraft,
58,000 training aircraft,
93,000 tanks,
257,000 artillery pieces,
105,000 mortars,
3,000,000 machine guns, and
2,500,000 military trucks.

We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services, invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb, and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany.

It's worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama Administration couldn't even build a web site that worked."

Lots 'o Links

Another tumultuous week, summed up nicely by Betsy's Page, Larwyn's Linx, and Maggie's Farm.

Here's a bonus Argus Hamilton quip: " Prince William flew from New York to Washington D.C. Monday for a visit with President Obama at the White House about his wildlife foundation. The two chatted in the Oval Office for two hours. It was a meeting between a symbolic ruler with no real power anymore and the future King of England."

Happy Birthday, Klara Marcus!

Here's the kind of old age story I like: Woman who survived Auschwitz when gas ran out is about to turn 101.

A Face in the Cloud

Take a close look at this stormy scene.

Yes, This IS Who We Are!

Remember this? THIS is torture!
Obama keeps saying torturing terrorists isn't who we are. No, getting beheaded by Muslims isn't who we are.  Being forced to jump out of the World Trade Towers isn't who we are.  Having over 3,000 workers murdered isn't who we are.  We're the victims here, in case anyone forgot. There's no resemblance between waterboarding and blowing up a plane over Lockerbie. Everything Obama says just encourages the enemy.

Usually when I see the name Scott Ott, I assume his column will be funny. Not this time. In fact, his column today is one of the best retorts I've seen to the release of the CIA interrogations. It's called What Interrogation Tactics Would You Not Try?

Here's how it ends:  "Thirteen years since we wondered how a hillbilly with a tablecloth hat toppled two skyscrapers and punched a smoldering hole in the headquarters of the world’s most powerful military force, using not much more than a Koran and a box cutter.
Thirteen years of scanning faces in departure lounges. Wondering.
Now, put yourself in the shoes of the CIA director, or of the interrogator in the field.
If you thought you had even a small chance of stopping another attack, what 'enhanced' tactics would you not try?
What moral code would impede you from your utmost exertion to quench the flame…to catch the falling man?
Damn them in hindsight, if you will.
I cannot.
In their best efforts, I hear the whisper of angel wings."

An Attack on Jews

Here we go again.  A Yeshiva student was stabbed by a schvartzer at Lubavitch World Headquarters in Crown Heights and shot dead.  "'This incident is reminiscent of Har Nof,' said Assemblyman Dov Hikind, referring to the recent terror attack by two Muslim men in a synagogue in Jerusalem killing 4 congregants and injuring eight.  Hikind said 'Jewish communities around the world know what 770 represents,' as the highly visited synagogue of the Rebbe and home-base for the world's largest Jewish network."

You'll notice that Jews are not looting and rioting in response. I guess we are empathizing with our enemy, like Hillary Clinton does.

Yet the main issue seemed to be not the attempted slaughter of more Jews, but that the cop didn't use "excessive force".  Is this the way it's always going to be now, worrying about stopping killers and terrorists? You can bet that the Jew-haters and the radical Muslims are eagerly following all these developments.

Liars and Opportunists

While Rolling Stone does deserve blame for its willingness to believe the fake gang rape story of Jackie, the supposed victim, Jackie herself should be exposed as the liar she is. She sounds too much like the liar Tawana Brawley (who was offered free college tuition) and the Duke Lacrosse team accuser (who was later found guilty of murder) for comfort.  It doesn't matter that innocent men's lives and reputations are destroyed, just so long as the liberal "war on women" narrative is repeated. If the fiction sounds better than the facts, just print the fiction. Anyone remember Janet Cooke and her Pulitzer Prize?

Treasonous Democrats

What kind of spite and hate do the Democrats have for America and our troops that they would release the CIA report on the treatment of terrorists? There is no good reason for doing so. We're not the enemy!

Terrorists, in case they still don't get it, kill Westerners and continue to kill us. They are not nice people. I don't care how they are interrogated or tortured, just so long as Americans aren't tortured and killed!

Go ahead -- release the report, release the Guantanamo terrorists, and bring across our border every criminal and killer who will use this report to seek their revenge. The first place they should go is to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Casting Call!

Here's some very important news I'm sure will interest you: Obama Romance Movie In Works – Who Will Play Young Barack?
Well, obviously, Obama himself will have to do it. After all, who else can convincingly play the part of the Lightworker and the Messiah?  This movie will have legs tingling in the aisles!

A Headline I Never Thought I'd See

Obama mulling sanctions against Israel.   Yes, you read that right.  "For the first time in history, an American president is considering slapping sanctions on the state of Israel. The reason? Israel is building new housing on its own land." Can this actually happen? Just the thought of it should be enraging American Jews, especially those who voted for him, and yet it's gotten to the point where liberalism trumps Jewishness.

Psychoanalyzing Your Stuff

Take a tranquilizer, then read about this "cleaning consultant" who says that when you tidy up your things, remember that "your belongings have feelings, and deserve to be treated like living things."  I'll keep that in mind the next time I throw my shoes in the closet.

Also, "she’s famous for her method of folding clothes so they stand on end, partly because she thinks stacking’s unfair on those at the bottom."

I wonder if she's a liberal.

Lots 'o Links

Catch up with this week's news stories and Obama Administration obnoxiousness with Larwyn's Linx, Betsy's Page, and Maggie's Farm.

Can Obama, Holder, and Sharpton please stop talking and making things worse?  Cops are targets now, and I would hate to be on a jury if every decision I make is attacked.  Also, think of the propaganda value these riots and protests are having in terrorist countries, and think how terrorists (and soon, illegal aliens) can take advantage of the situation in our country.

Daniel Greenfield's column titled When Black Lives Don't Matter is a must-read.  Here's just one excerpt: "Progressives only care about black people when they’re using them as weapons. For black lives to matter to them, they have to be dead at the hands of a white man. For black unemployment to matter to them, they have to be able to blame it on Republicans. Black poverty, black homelessness only matter to them when they can cash in on a social justice solution that doesn’t fix the problem. The rest of the time they don’t pay attention and don’t care."  Now how can you argue with that? Obviously he must be a racist, since he's giving you the facts.

Here's a concept I totally agree with: Bring Back Phone Booths, and Other Ways to Battle Rude Cell Phone Yappers.

The Spirit of Australia

Last night I turned on the BBC World News and instead of privileged to witness the funeral service for a young man I'd never heard of. It was cricketer Phillip Hughes, who died last week after being hit in the neck by a pitch by a devastated Sean Abbott. I don't know a thing about cricket and very little about Australia, but after scanning the faces, seeing the Australian PM there, and listening to the eulogy, I realized that Phillip Hughes must have been a very special man indeed. The outpouring of love and support was very moving. Today I wanted to learn more about him. Anne Perkins said what I immediately  thought of last night: Phillip Hughes’s funeral is a Princess Diana moment for Australia; The cricketer’s funeral brought Australians together to mourn a national hero who’s become a symbol of all that’s good about the country."

From the UK Telegraph: "Michael Clarke's touching Phillip Hughes eulogy will take up residence in language of Australian cricket;Captain's oration at the funeral was a lament for a friend, a summoning of the game’s deepest values and a meditation on Australia itself, writes Paul Hayward", who also described what I felt: "This soaring language was received with awe around the world."

Headline of the Day

UN calls on Israel to renounce nuclear weapons.   This is not a joke or a misprint or a typographical error. When I first saw this, I logically thought it read "UN calls on Iran to renounce nuclear weapons." We should all know better by now.

Disgraceful, Hands Down

That "hands up" gesture by House members and by the Rams players reminded me of one thing: the Black Power salute at the 1968 Olympics. That was inappropriate, and so is this. We don't need a national dialogue on race, we need a national dialogue on out-of-control behavior like we saw across the country.

Media Double Standard

This is truly disgraceful.  This Bosnian immigrant was beaten to death by 4 killers -- 3 black and 1 Hispanic -- in St. Louis, MO on November 30. The first time I heard about this story was on "The Five" tonight, days later. Unlike in Ferguson, there's been no 24-hour news coverage, no rioting or looting or arson by whites, no outrage by anyone in Washington.

And there are new details about the last minutes of Colleen Hufford, the woman who was beheaded by that Muslim extremist in Oklahoma -- remember her? You probably don't remember because the media didn't cover the story for days on end. The case was dismissed as "workplace violence" rather than brutal terrorism.

Speaking Noo Yawk

Click on, and listen to, the alphabetical guide How to Speak New York -- as seen at the UK Guardian! The one for Joralemon Street reminded me of a relative's classmate whose family was given that surname at Ellis Island.

Jewish State of Denial

Read Jonathan Tobin's column Defending the Right to a Jewish State.  He writes, "For far too long, those who have spoken up for Israel in international or media forums have downplayed the question of the rights of the Jews in the conflict and instead spoke only of the nation's security needs. But when placed against Palestinian claims of their rights to the same country—when Hamas talks about resistance to the "occupation" they are referring to Israel within its pre-1967 borders—such talk inevitably seems inadequate. Friends of Israel are right to seek to promote the idea of a nation state for the Jews not so much because Israel's laws need to be altered but because Zionism is itself under attack and must be vigorously defended."

Here's the May 1948 Declaration of Establishment of the State of Israel

It seems obvious, doesn't it? Why else would Holocaust survivors go to the safe haven of Israel if it weren't a Jewish state? This is one thing Israel should never make concessions on!

"Christmas Spectacular"

It was amazing to me, and belatedly amazing to The Five, that the news about a European version of the September 11 terror attacks was the 2nd story on their list, and not the #1 story. After talking about Ferguson for the first 1/2 hour, they finally got around to this horror: Islamists plan Christmas attacks on 5 planes in major European hubs – report. (Oh, and please remember to automatically add the caveat that not all Muslims are terrorists.)
