Defining Terrorism

How strange that the Obama administration can't bring themselves to use the word "terrorist", but Egypt can.  Egypt has officially banned Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliate that operates in the Gaza Strip, and named it a terrorist organization.

Compare that with this: "The White House said that Taliban is an 'armed insurgency' and not a terrorist group, a handy semantic tactic to allow President Barack Obama to declare he was won the war on terror."  And Andrew McCarthy says, "No doubt because of my background investigating, prosecuting, and studying terrorism, the cynical claim by White House spokesmen that the Taliban is not a terrorist organization has annoyed me even more than the Obama administration’s nonstop lying usually does."

And while this spineless quibbling over words continues by our formerly powerful country, ISIS has beheaded the second Japanese hostage.

Pretty disgraceful, isn't it?

Lowlife Scum

I myself use the phrases "lowlives" and "lowlife scum" to describe disgraceful parasites and leeches such as the black hands-up protesters and the vile anti-Israel haters,  so I was glad that John McCain got angry enough to use it against Code Pink today!  It's about time. Garbage like this will never achieve in their lifetime what men like Henry Kissinger and George Shultz accomplished in theirs. To attack 90 year old men is in itself inexcusable.  Shame on them!

Then and Now

Here's a picture for you: four Auschwitz survivors stand alongside a large photo of them as children, taken on the day the camp was liberated.

Preposterous PC of the Day

Now, even courtesy and manners are viewed as offensive by some idiots! From National Review's reliable Katherine Timpf: CUNY: Don’t Call Students ‘Mr., Mrs. or Ms.’ Because That’s Maybe Disrespectful.  "The policy is intended to 'ensure a respectful, welcoming and gender-inclusive learning environment . . . and to accommodate properly the diverse population of current and prospective students,' according to the memo, signed by interim provost Louise Lennihan." I have a better idea -- call them "hey, you."

Surprise! Al Jazeera English is banning certain words, "including 'terrorist,' 'militant,' 'Islamist' and 'jihad.'  'One person’s terrorist is another person’s freedom fighter,' the Al Jazeera executive wrote." Let's just call them "IslamoNazis" instead and get it over with.

The Music Lives On

"A violin thrown some seventy years ago from a train transporting French Jews to the Nazi Auschwitz death camp will sound in the concert hall of the Berlin Philharmonic on Tuesday night, along with other instruments once played by victims of the Holocaust."

Never Again -- Until Now

I think that no matter what stories the survivors tell or what the liberators say about the Holocaust, it simply doesn't register with most people today, because they are too self-absorbed and more interested in celebrities than in history and current events to care. And that fact, along with political correctness, is why brazen antisemitism and murders of Jews is being permitted to happen again today.

Holocaust Memorial Day: Auschwitz

This video is from the UK Telegraph.

Hitchcock's Holocaust documentary, "Night Will Fall", should be required in school:  "Viewer beware: Once seen, the graphic images cannot be unseen. Even those who have sat through all nine-plus hours of Claude Lanzmann’s 'Shoah' or watched Alain Resnais’ 'Night and Fog' might not forget what Hitchcock put on display. We see body parts strewn in piles, punctured skulls dotting empty fields, corpses  thrown like mannequins into mass graves, survivors with skeletal frames and hollowed eye sockets staring into the camera." Contrast that with these photos from an SS guard's album.

This is what the Holocaust-deniers want: that you don't see any film footage, that you never see the photographs, that you ignore the witness statements, because then you might tend to believe that the barbaric extermination of 6 million Jews actually occurred. You can't fake crematoria, gas chambers, pits full of bodies, or Mengele's experiments. If it were any other ethnic group but Jews, nobody would have the slightest trouble accepting it.

"Snow Rabies"

Somehow, people coped with severe weather before The Weather Channel, TV, radio, and computers, so I think a little less hysteria is in order regarding this Northeast blizzard, which they've named Juno.  I got a kick out of this comment by Dennis Mersereau: "No but seriously, the amount of weather geeks foaming at the mouth over this is insane. It's like y'all got the snow rabies."

Liberation from Auschwitz

January 27 will be the 70th anniversary of the day that Auschwitz was  liberated by the Russians. Obama is not attending the ceremonies, but I'm glad, since he doesn't belong there anyway. The barely living might have been liberated from the ovens, but they were not liberated from fear and stress. Read here about the survivors and what they've had to cope with over the past 7 decades, then tell me again that the Holocaust never happened.

Something Wrong

There's something very wrong when under-inflated footballs are the #1 news story in this country and when Hollywood celebrities attack war heroes and war movies. It all sounds like jealousy to me: jealousy of success; jealousy of good looks, good skills, and good luck; jealousy of patriotism and heroism and character, which these attackers sorely lack.

Meanwhile, it sounds like ISIS has beheaded one of its Japanese hostages, but I guess that's not important to these obnoxious publicity seekers, low information thinkers, and naysayers.

As for the Patriots, I hope they beat the Seahawks so decisively in the Super Bowl that all of their envious opponents will have no choice but to admit that it was pure talent and not cheating that was responsible.

Weasel of the Week

No, its not Obama, but it should be!

Actually, the Weasel of the Week is Racialist Grievance Monger, Anti-Semite and Huffington Post Columnist Ferrari Sheppard!!   Lowlives like this who attack war movies and war heroes are cowardly, jealous liberals.  They probably would have loathed Audit Murphy and hated "Tora!Tora!Tora!"

As for our fearless President, read Ruthie Blum's column
Iran and the state of Obama-land"Like their Islamist brethren across the Middle East, the Palestinians are players in a global ‎jihad against Christians and Jews.‎ Obama doesn't see it that way. On the contrary, as he pointed out in his address, he ‎considers 'the deplorable anti-Semitism that has resurfaced in certain parts of the world' ‎to be on a par with 'offensive stereotypes of Muslims.'  He was thus far more angry about the 'breech of protocol' made by Boehner and ‎Netanyahu, for arranging a trip to Washington to warn about Iran, than about the terrorist ‎attack in Tel Aviv." ‎

And read this infuriating headline: "US Says Netanyahu will Pay ‘Price’ for Upcoming Visit; Obama and Kerry Refuse to Meet Israeli PM."

Obama should pay the price, but unfortunately it's us who will pay the price in the damage this man has inflicted on our country.

Appeaser and Liar

Imagine this:  "The White House deliberately leaked a report that the Mossad opposes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Iran policy, Israeli officials claimed on Thursday.
The leaked report stated that the Mossad prefers a diplomatic solution to the Iranian nuclear issue, and believes the new sanctions supported by both Netanyahu and the incoming Congress will endanger such an agreement.
According to the Jerusalem Post, the leak was the 'Obama administration’s revenge' on the new Republican Congress for inviting Netanyahu to address the legislative body. The administration sees the invitation as a slap in the face, given that Obama's antipathy toward Netanyahu is very well known."

He has conveniently overlooked the fact that Iran is the enemy, not Israel, but apparently in Obama's world, protecting yourself from Muslim terror is politically incorrect.

I can't wait for Netanyahu's visit and his speech opposing the lifting of sanctions against Iran. Obama sounds like he works for Iran and the Arabs in his zeal for negotiating with the Iranians and his refusal to condemn Islamic terrorism.  Since Obama is unwilling or unable to act in America's best interests, it sounds like Netanyahu will be the statesman.

Fed Up

You should pass along this excellent column by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, which I'm quoting in full. The title is The Ever-Cheapening Life of a Jew;
Fed up with a never-ending river of Jewish tears.

"The terror attack this morning in Tel Aviv confirms a disgusting phenomenon of being a Jew, namely, the diminishing value of Jewish life worldwide. It is so common to awaken to news of murdered Jews that one comes almost to expect it.

There is nothing new about this. Walk the streets of Jerusalem and see all the plaques on cafes’, pizza shops, and street corners to Jews murdered by Palestinian terrorists.

There is a critical mass of dead Jews that has now been reached beyond which the Israeli public and the world Jewish community is not prepared to mourn any more.

Rather than clicking the next news story, it’s time that we finally got fed up. That we aren’t going to take it any more. That we aren’t going to make peace any longer with the fact that Jews are born to die. That Israel doesn’t have to make do with the sight of children’s carcasses found rotting in caves. That Israel, even after all the innocent men, women, and children it has buried in the Arabs’ 66 year war to annihilate it should still be shocked by the sight of dead men at prayer and bloodied commuters on a bus. That it is a gruesome sight that should not come to be expected but should make our stomachs turn. That buying bread on a Friday afternoon need not be a death sentence.

Israel and the Jews need to be fed up with the sight of dead Jews.

Fed up with some Palestinians justifying barbaric murder in the name of their grievances.

Fed up with the foul moral equivalency of Jews dying as targets of terrorists and Palestinians dying undertaking acts of terrorism.

Fed up with a world that has indulged anti-Semitism for thousands of years continuing to scapegoat the State of Israel and justify Jewish bodies.

Fed up with Western media that makes more of Israelis adding rooms to apartments in east Jerusalem than 150,000 Arabs killed in Syria.

Fed up with the United Nations condemning the only democracy in the Middle East while overlooking the ghastly human rights abuses of its Arab neighbors.

Fed up with watching Jewish mothers and fathers wailing over the coffins of their children.

Fed up with scenes of Palestinians ululating at the same. (Hamas immediately praised the stabbing attack as “heroic.”)

Fed up with Islamic terrorists believing they will be rewarded with virgins in heaven for killing children on earth.

Fed up with haters of Israel being more concerned with how Palestinian terrorists are treated in Israeli jails—which is humanely—than with their victims’ families, whose lives are destroyed forever.

Fed up with an American government that, with the best of intentions, pushes Israel to recognize a Palestinian unity government with Hamas when the United States would never even talk to Al Qaida who murdered so many innocent Americans.

Fed up with seeing Israeli communities in the West Bank surrounded by barbed wire to keep killers out while the Palestinian villages live openly and without fear because they know Israelis don’t target children.

Fed up with the big lie that Israeli settlements are the reason for Palestinian terror when the PLO was founded before Israel ever conquered the West Bank in a defensive war and Hamas has launched thousands of rockets at Israel even after Israel forcibly removed every last settler.

Fed up with morally confused Churches like the Presbyterian Church USA initiating boycotts against Israel for simply protecting its citizens from terrorists while overlooking Arab atrocities against Christians throughout the Middle East.

Fed up with having to teach your children to fear basic neighborliness that was once so common in Israel, like hitchhiking, lest your children never arrive home.

Fed up with Arab nations claiming to feel humiliated by, and swearing eternal enmity toward, a tiny little sliver of Jewishness that is but a small fraction of total Arab land.

Fed up with a never-ending river of Jewish tears.

Fed up with a tragic history that never seems to recede.

And we have every right to be fed up. No nation should have to live like this. No nation should have to die like this. Something has to be done. The status quo is unacceptable.

No one quite knows how it can be remedied. But what we do know is that the option of dead Jews is no longer acceptable. We have a right to live."

"God Remembered Me"

How touching!  "Rome’s Jews throw surprise anniversary party for Holocaust survivors; Sami and Selma Modiano, married 57 years, moved to tears at the community embrace at the Great Synagogue of Rome."

Disconnected

There's something very wrong when, in your State of the Union address, you describe global warming as "the greatest threat" but you don't think to mention  Al Qaeda at all.  Byron York described Obama as being disconnected from reality.  You can say the same thing about the people who voted for him twice.

State of the Destruction of the Union

I can't wait to miss Obama's speech tomorrow night, which I will follow only by reading Vodkapundit's drunkblogging.

Here's the damage Obama's already inflicted upon us since he took office.  The next 2 years will be a continuation of that disaster, and I don't want to have to hear about "free" college, the very important right to have broadband internet, or the taxing of the rich. He's done quite enough already.

A Slap in the Face

It's just amazing that even now, after the Paris massacre and the Belgium terror plot against Jewish schools and the 2,000 slaughtered in Nigeria, this country is still continuing to appease the Muslims!

First, Duke University's decision to have the Muslim call to prayer from the chapel tower (now thankfully reversed); now a report that New York may scrub a report on Islamic jihadists because it offends Muslims. Are you kidding?  We don't need "dialogue" with Muslims -- we need to decimate the jihadists!  Who cares if they are offended?  We're the ones who should be offended at this self-destructive political correctness.

Touchdown...Seahawks!

What an amazing comeback! With something like 2 minutes left in the game they were losing, and after the commentator had related Russell Wilson's poor stats, the Seahawks came from behind and won in overtime 28-22 over Green Bay. How can you not root for such a team?  (However, I'll still root for the Patriots if they win the AFC Championship!)

Iran Obsession Disorder

"Obama Urges Resistance to ‘Donors’ (i.e. Jews) Pushing for Iran Sanctions.   Obama said 'donors' were pressuring Democratic senators to push for Iran sanctions, and urged them to resist. Donors = Jews", writes Lori Lowenthal Marcus.

While we're at it, can we push for sanctions on Obama?  His refusal to recognize the danger in negotiating with Iran is adding to the harm he's already done to our country and to the Middle East.

Operation Kill the Jews

Read this column called Are Jews Safe in Europe? by Benjamin Weinthal and Asaf Romirowsky. "There are three lessons from the explosion of European anti-Semitism. First, hatred of Israel can no longer be separated from loathing of Jews. The second lesson is that mere opprobrium from European leaders is insufficient. So the third lesson is the need for a zero-tolerance policy toward violent anti-Semitic rallies."

I think there's a fourth and fifth lesson: kill these Islamic terrorists before they kill us; and respond to every antisemitic attack.

Can you imagine what the Holocaust survivors must be experiencing these days? I'm filled with rage at the thought of it.

All I can do in response, in my small way, is wear my Star of David, buy Israeli goods, and blog and pass on these anti-Jewish episodes so we don't live in silence and fear.

The Council has spoken! Here are the latest Watcher's Council winners

The Weasel of the Week is CNN's Sally Kohn for her remarks on the Paris terrorist atrocities.

Obama is threatening to veto our sanctions against Iran. I don't get it. Someone on The Five said something to the effect that Obama attacks supporters of the Keystone Pipeline more vigorously than he goes after our enemies. I agree.

Daniel Greenfield wonders "Suppose Islam Had a Holocaust and No One Noticed." That's a reference to ISIS's slaughter of 2,000 and the destruction of a whole village, but according to Obama, that must be a mere "violent incident" rather than Islamic terrorism. Obviously the Paris massacre hasn't woken people up sufficiently.

Stop Kvetching!

While these Black Lives Matters people continue to make a nuisance of themselves, tying up traffic and inconveniencing people who actually work for a living,  we had to deal with 4 French Jews murdered in one day by terrorists. That's twice the number of blacks who were killed by cops, yet you don't see us looting, rioting, and obstructing traffic and people. Why don't they get a life, get a job, and fight Islamic terrorism with the same zest they use to protest the racism they claim is so prevalent?

This headline tells you the genuine fear Jews are living with: Major police raids across Europe, Jewish schools closed.

Haveil Havalim Time

Go immediately and read Haveil Havalim: The Je Suis Juif Edition, over at Just Call Me Chaviva. It includes a tribute to the 4 men murdered by Islamic terrorists in the Paris kosher supermarket last week.

Argus Hamilton Quips

In his latest column, Argus Hamilton offers comments on the news, including this item: "The White House was slammed Thursday for refusing to refer to the Paris cartoonist murderers as radical Islamist terrorists. It's had a chilling effect on comedy. You couldn't help but notice that in the next day's Washington Post editorial cartoon President Obama's ears were a lot smaller than usual."

Lots 'o Links

There's a lot of infuriating links this week as we deal with the Islamic terrorism and murders that a certain President and his media protectors would rather not talk about.  Read Betsy's Page, Maggie's Farm, and Larwyn's Linx.

I've always thought Obama must be a terrorist sympathizer, and then I saw Roger L. Simon's recent column called Is the White House a ‘Sleeper Cell’?   So obviously I'm not the only person who thinks this way. What better place to put your terrorist plans into motion than from the U.S. government?

It's Worse Than We Thought

If it's like this in England, imagine what it's like in the Middle East, Vichy Norway, and other places! "Warning over rising tide of anti-Semitism in Britain with one in eight people claiming that Jews talk about the Holocaust to get sympathy. New survey found that almost half of all Britons held an anti-Semitic view. One in four believe that Jews chase money more than other people. One in six thought that Jews had too much power in the media."

Excuse me while I become physically ill.

Shape-Shifters Unite!

I've been called names in my day, but I've never been called a magical shape-shifting Jew before!  These Muslims are not only evil, they are also crazy, blaming us for slaughtering the Charlie Hebdo journalists and our fellow Jews in order to frame them.  If this weren't so horrible, it'd be almost funny.

In other news, an American Muslim has been charged with trying to blow up the U.S.Capitol, thus finishing the job started on September 11. Ho-hum.

Defiantly Jewish

Read Sara Debbie Gutfreund's column at Aish:  "For the people of France and for every Jew in every country, and for Jewish children everywhere, I call out to the world: Je Suis Juif! My voice echoes the cries of those who have come before me, those who have lived and died for Your Name: I am a Jew. I was born a Jew. I live as a Jew. I will die as a Jew. #JeSuisJuif. Don’t let the Jews of France stand alone."

Je Suis Appalled

Even in Paris during the unity rally, antisemitism reared its ugly head, and the media was the culprit. I saw Joe Scarborough's anger about it on The Morning Joe today.  "BBC journalist apologies for anti-Semitic question during Paris unity rally, after saying ‘Palestinians suffer hugely at Jewish hands as well'".  To make it worse, the woman he was interviewing was the daughter of a Holocaust survivor!  His apology is too little, too late.  We need to eradicate Islamic terrorists, political correctness, blatant antisemitism, and the disgrace of moral equivalency.

Jewish in Europe

This video is part of a moving post at Legal Insurrection titled Au revoir les juifs et la France.  Professor Jacobson writes, "Almost since the beginning of this website in the fall of 2008 I have been sounding the alarm about, and documenting, the rise of anti-Semitism masquerading as anti-Zionism in Europe. It’s been a toxic marriage of anti-Jewish Islamists and anti-Israeli leftists, resulting not just in fatalities, but in the inability to be publicly Jewish.  Walking while Jewish is not possible in most of Europe."

Charlie Hebdo USA

I read this at Right Wing News: Newspaper Office in California Vandalized Simply For Using The Word ‘Illegals’ In Headline.  Sound familiar?

The Week The World Woke Up

Finally Europe is shocked -- shocked! -- at the terrorist attacks that took about 20 French lives. But why wasn't the world shocked into action after September 11, when 10 times that number of people were killed? Again, political correctness and complacency have reared their ugly heads.

I agree with the sentiments of Colonel Ralph Peters, who bluntly said this:
"One, you accept that you are in a war. Two, you name the enemy: Islamist terrorists. Three, you get the lawyers off the battlefield and out of the targeting cell. You accept there will be collateral damage, and do you not apologize for it, you do not nation build. You don’t hold — try to hold ground. You go wherever in the world the terrorists are and you kill them. You do your best to exterminate them, and then you leave, and you leave behind smoking ruins and crying widows. If in five or ten years they reconstitute and you have got to go back, you go back and you do the same thing and you never never never send American troops into a war you don’t mean to win.”

United We Stand

How odd to see Abbas at this rally but not Obama.  Sending someone like Eric Holder in his place is yet another example of Obama's contempt for America and his lack of resolve regarding Islamic terrorism.

Here are some stunning photographs from the Daily Mail.

All this support today is reassuring for French Jews and for Jews everywhere, but I hope it's followed by stronger security and for rapid action against Islamic extremists, for these are not "lone wolves" but part of a well-oiled machine.

Borodin Symphony #3 in A Minor

I heard this on the radio this morning and wouldn't get out of the car until I learned the name of it and who wrote it.

Cartoons Against Terrorism

Top: Steve Sack. Next two by Rick McKee.

Rally Against Islamic Terror

Now this is the right way to talk! From the New York Times: "Prime Minister Manuel Valls declared Saturday that France was at war with radical Islam after the harrowing sieges that had led to the deaths of three gunmen and four hostages the day before, and as the authorities mounted a frantic hunt for a suspected accomplice. 'It is a war against terrorism, against jihadism, against radical Islam, against everything that is aimed at breaking fraternity, freedom, solidarity,' Mr. Valls said during a speech in Évry, south of Paris."

And at this rally, what better opportunity to take Daniel Greenfield's advice and laugh at Islam? They should put the faces of Islamic terrorists on Jumbotrons while the assembled millions laugh and laugh.

Ted Belman writes, "I do not recall such international support when Israel has been the subject of mass murder by terrorists. I don’t recall any world leader visiting. All Israel Ministers are calling for massive emigration of Jews from Europe and particularly France and are willing to provide generous assistance..Netanyahu Calls on French Jews: Come Home to Israel."

I feel the same way Gerard Van der Leun feels when he says, "No More Vigils. Vengeance: After Paris I, more than ever, feel the same way I felt on the afternoon of 9/11." Read this.

Haveil Havalim – the Vayechi Vantage is up at Adventures in AliyahLand.

The Council has spoken! Here are the latest Watcher's Council results.

Daniel Greenfield suggests, "Let's Laugh at Islam" -- "We're fighting a cultural war and humor is our best weapon. We've spent the last 50 years laughing and mocking every aspect of our societies. Let's turn that laughter on Islam full bore. And Islam's defenders will find it difficult to censor and silence humor, the way they can silence and discredit political commentary. To try and silence humor is to look like a prig and if there's anything our politically correct cultural overlords hate, it's to come out looking like the stuffy humorless totalitarian-minded fascists that they really are...A billion plus Muslims around the world are shouting angrily demanding that we take their perverted homicidal mania of a religion seriously. Let's laugh at them instead."

More Terror For The Jews

From The Algemeiner: Terror Outrages Deepen Fear Among French Jews, ‘Fanatical Islamism Always Targets the Jewish Community,’ Says Jewish Leader.

From WorldJewishDaily.com: The Canary in the Coal Mine:First they came for the French Jews, and nobody cared. Now they're coming for everybody else.

Need we say more?

A Worldwide State of Terror

From today's France 24: Al Qaeda planning ‘mass casualty attacks’ against West. It's not "a few folks", as Obama keeps claiming.   What we saw in France this week is what's been going on for years and what will continue to go on as long as these killing squads read spinelessness, political correctness, and indecisiveness in our so-called leaders.  The goal of Muslims is to kill Westerners and Jews and spread radical Islam across the world in the same way that the Nazis conquered Europe.  The slaughter of 2000 Nigerians by Boko Haram hardly made a dent in the news this week.  Do you really not understand this? Are you that afraid of being seen as anti-black and anti-Muslim? Stop apologizing, and go eradicate these barbarians before it's too late!

Steve Emerson asks "Will we ever learn?" The answer is no. He writes, "Indeed, the responses from U.S. President Barack Obama, French President Francois Hollande and British Prime Minster David Cameron all involved the same empty pabulum asserting that the Paris attack had nothing to do with Islam or any religion for that matter. But the hollow comments coming from our own leaders are steeped in the stench of appeasement and cowardice." He may have been talking about the Vichy government!

Incredibly Lazy

I like Jim Mullen's Village Idiot column asking How Lazy Can We Get? Read it and you'll agree, too.  "How did our ancestors ever get anything done without all our modern technology? How did lumberjacks get through the day without massage chairs and hot tubs? How did Julius Caesar conquer Gaul without the benefit of rehydrating power drinks and One-a-Day vitamins for men? How did the cowboys of the Old West ever get by without sunblock and Cialis? How did Dolley Madison save the White House furniture without being able to put it on Facebook and then tweet all about it?"

It's not only lazy; it's useless and lazy!

Obliterate Them!

Well, here we go again: the same barbaric Muslim terrorism attacks against the West; the same refusal to call terrorism "terrorism" or the killers "Muslims"; the talk of anti-Muslim backlash. Meanwhile, 12 journalists are dead, their families destroyed, and the killers are on the run.

A few days ago, Angela Merkel pleaded with Germans not to attend  anti-Muslim rallies.  I wonder how she feels today. This morning the White House referred to the murders in Paris as "an act of violence", just as the beheading in Oklahoma was "workplace violence". Blacks are still protesting in the streets, but against cops, not against terrorists. I don't think people found it hard to condemn the Nazis, so why is it so difficult for people today to use words like "Muslim", "Islamic", and "terrorism"? The more this war of words goes on, the more spineless we look, and the more slaughter there will be by animals who are not afraid of martyrdom.

Israel and the Road Map of Life

This article discusses how Israel is being airbrushed off maps in order to ignore her very existence.  A commenter named Mister Rible offers a good retort:
"Doesn't matter how hard Israel haters try to deny Israel's existence.
What sticks in their throats, is that ISRAEL DOES EXIST!

It exist despite all odds.
It exists despite thousands of attacks, from the first day of its' creation.
It exists despite the boycotts.
It exists despite the missiles, rockets, suicide bombers, snipers, rabid left wing anti-Semites, BDS, etc.
Not only does Israel exist, it does better than all of it's neighbours combined, without a drop of oil, while being the smallest and most vulnerable country in the region.

ISRAEL EXISTS.
Palestine does not.

Get used to it, or choke on it."

A Stymie

In another fawning article, the New York Times lauded the president's golf game, with a headline -- Obama Is the Nation’s Private Golfer in Chief -- they weren't using in a sarcastic manner. The article ended in this nauseating way:  "One of the golfers who played with Mr. Obama said the way the president carried himself on the course provided significant insight into his character.  'If you came down from Mars and saw his disposition on the golf course, you would think he would be a pretty good president,' the golfer said. 'He’s honest, he keeps his composure through terrible adversity, he’s unruffled, he smiles, and he doesn’t quit.'"

Well, maybe he should remain on the golf course permanently, because when he's in the White House, he's a pretty lousy president, as evidenced from a all-too-familiar headline:  Obama Threatens to Veto Keystone Pipeline Approval;White House Also Would Block Change GOP Wants in Health-Care Law.

On the other hand, Wayne State University has its own list of old-fashioned (read: intelligent) words we should keep, like caterwaul and knavery.  I'm all for it if it means resorting to a better vocabulary.

No Respect

I saw this on the news this morning, those lousy anti-cop protesters disrupting a medal ceremony for a 100 year old veteran. What was almost as bad was the fact that nobody else in the room seemed to speak up for the veteran or speak out against the protesters. Has political correctness also destroyed courage and spine?

Getting Your Priorities Wrong

From Don Surber: "The Charleston Gazette has minted a new right: The right to play basketball. In an editorial, "Working people losing ground?" Betty Chilton and the Gazette editorial board has decided that there is a right to play team sports in school in $100 basketball shoes. Taxpayers would simply provide them to the poor... The Gazette editorial board insists free basketball shoes are 'an integral part of education.'
The Gazette said the same thing about food stamps.
And Title I teacher aides.
And a $21 million building for the Mary C. Snow West Side Elementary School (which immediately ranked in the bottom five schools in West Virginia.)
Silly me, I thought caring parents and hard work were 'an integral part of education.'"

Sadly, not any more.  What we need is a taxpayer revolt and a refusal to allow our money to be stolen from us.

Political Predictions for 2015

Larry Kudlow is optimistic for 2015, while I won't be optimistic until the Republicans win back the White House.

At Israel Hayom, David M. Weinberg offers his predictions for Israel and America, including this one:  "American decline: In the final two years of his presidency, Obama will be freer than ever to pursue his true ideological convictions in the areas of foreign and security policy, and free to cement a complete reorientation of U.S. policy in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf.
After all, over the past year, he has granted Russian President Vladimir Putin gargantuan international victories, given Syrian President Bashar Assad a new lease on life, re-legitimized Iran and re-energized the morally bankrupt United Nations, all while playing Hamlet about his own authority to strike Syria or defend Israel. He has made only a ridiculously miniscule effort to confront Islamic State.
Obama very clearly believes that the humbling of America will bring healing to the world; that he will be leaving the world a better place by cutting America down to size, and allowing other 'legitimate' actors, such as Iran, to assert their rights."

Halo and Goodbye

Just think: we still have two more long years of this media fawning: WaPo Reporter Sorry He Couldn’t Get Photo Of Obama Under A Rainbow. I love the reader comments at Lucianne.com!

Butterfly Lovers

I just heard this exquisite piece of music on a classical radio station and was extremely happy when the announcer gave the title afterwards so I could find it online. It's the "Butterfly Lovers Concerto", written by Chen Gang & He Zhanhao, and performed by the great violinist Gil Shaham.

In his enjoyable Yiddish Vinkl column today, Harold Ticktin explains the meaning of the word shrekn (to frighten).

The Council has spoken! Here are the latest Watcher's Council results!

Check out Argus Hamilton's News in Zingers, including this quip:  "President Obama played golf in Hawaii Wednesday as he tried to unwind from the pressures of his job. In the midst of rising U.S. national debt, urban unrest and foreign cyber-attacks, the president got some great news. The IRS just ruled he can write off the first half of his second term as a total loss."

Mario Cuomo RIP

Boy, what a speaker he was! As Bob McManus puts it, Mario Cuomo was an oratorical magician who electrified liberals.

Lots 'o Links

Happy New Year!  Here are the latest news roundups from Betsy's Page, Maggie's Farm, and Larwyn's Linx.

Also, from Hot Air, here are their top ten posts from 2014.

The Weasel of the Week is Ferguson protestor Joshua Williams, someone I had thankfully missed until now.

I was thinking of criticizing Obama less in 2015, but I immediately realized that's one resolution that's impossible to keep!
