The Unvaccinated Are Collaborators

Here are some of the items I've seen recently:

ER Doctor Alex Busko: 'What a senseless, self-inflicted wound'.

Here's a great analogy, which probably won't sink in:  ‘The difference in getting vaccinated, or not getting vaccinated is ultimately akin to "the difference between having a cold and dying,’ said Wein. ‘If a vaccinated patient gets this, they're most likely going to be just fine, and not going to end up in the hospital. Unfortunately, the unvaccinated person has a really high likelihood that he will end up hospitalized on a ventilator.’

How's this guy for stupid?  'One of the hospital's unvaccinated patients is 64-year-old patient Gerard Considine, who spent nine days intubated after he tested positive for the virus" -- but still won't get vaccinated!  People like this should be given larger bills and the extra money should go to the doctors and nurses who save their lives.

(Maybe reverse psychology would work! Have billboards & TV commercials that say "DON'T get vaccinated!" and show pictures of unvaccinated people in the ICU or in the morgue. That probably wouldn't work either.)

------------------------------

These 2 items are from Newser:

"'The war has changed': That's the CDC's acknowledgment in the presentation; it notes that it will be difficult to get this message across effectively because the public is in danger of losing faith in COVID vaccines after hearing the new data about breakthrough cases."

"Just how contagious is delta? PolitiFact put together a helpful compilation of information on delta, such as the shocking fact that when you look at viral load, the 15 minutes of close contact with an infected person that was said to put one at risk for the alpha variant of COVID is now the equivalent of just one second of exposure to someone infected with delta. In Australia, for example, a person was reportedly infected after a 'fleeting' exposure of passing by an infected person."

The war has changed? Well, if this is a war, then the deliberately unvaccinated are war criminals and collaborating with the enemy!

Anti-Vax Quax!

1. "Some people in Missouri are getting shots in secret.  Even as unvaccinated patients fill up hospitals, one pharmacist says some try to 'disguise their appearance' when getting vaccinated"

I say, don't worry about it:  your appearance will definitely be disguised -- in the morgue!

2.  "Texas Republican Representative Chip Roy Protests Re-imposition of Mask-Wearing Requirement in House Chamber.  A mask-less Representative Chip Roy (R-TX) reacts angrily to a requirement that members must again wear masks while on the House floor."

You have to see it to believe it. The headline should have read, "Adult man throws embarrassing temper tantrum on House floor."

3. In Israel, "Dozens of anti-vaxxers staged a protest outside the home of a senior Health Ministry official on Wednesday, with some participants heard calling her the 'daughter of the devil' and a 'Nazi murderer.'   At least one protester was seen wearing a yellow Star of David on their T-shirt near the home of Sharon Alroy-Preis, the head of the Health Ministry’s public health department."

For shame! These saboteurs throw the word "Nazi" around way too often. Too bad they can't appreciate how extremely lucky we are to even have our vaccines available so quickly! Think how much worse off we'd be without them!

Jackie Mason R.I.P.

Comedian - and rabbi - Jackie Mason just passed away at the age of 93. I had his show "The World According to Me" on video and loved it because he was so wonderfully Jewish!

Headline at The JC: "Jackie Mason defined a version of modern Jewish life for us.  He caricatured everyone and everything, so we could all laugh with him."

"Audiences who packed to see him everywhere from The Catskills to the London Palladium would be treated  to his long monologues on Jewish life, much of which has become so celebrated it has slipped into modern Jewish parlance and has almost defined what it means to be a modern Jew: obsessed with food ('Have you ever seen the way a Jew walks into a restaurant? Like a Partner!'); terrified of bars and guns ('He knows that’s it’s not his field, and that’s it'"; and incompetent at any form of manual labour, unlike Gentiles who can change tyres and do DIY ('Whenever a Jewish car breaks down you’ll always hear the same thing – It’s stopped?! Then a fight breaks out …').Jackie Mason was the ultimate 'unwoke' comedian, who revelled in stereotypes, to show up what he considered to be important home truths and haimische wisdom."

Adding Insult to Injury

Chris Cuomo is on his CNN show once again pleading with unvaccinated resisters to get their shot, and I can't take it anymore. We ought to all run to our windows and do what Howard Beale suggested:

"So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell: ‘I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not gonna take this anymore!’"

Meanwhile, here are 2 more reminders that we have a lot of COVID-saboteurs who knows where in our country, spreading the disease:

1. Washington Post: A spike in coronavirus infections in Mexico and along the southern U.S. border has shelved Biden administration plans to phase out the controversial public health law used to return more than 1 million migrants to Mexico, according to U.S. officials working on border policy.
2. CBS Dallas: "South Texas Police Department Issues Public Health Announcement After COVID-Stricken Migrants Seen ‘Coughing, Sneezing’ At Whataburger"

So now,  on top of everything else that we responsible, vaccinated Americans already deal with, we also have to worry about illegal aliens spreading COVID in our country! How about closing the border and protecting us instead of making everything even harder for us to deal with?

------------------

The Wall Street Journal helpfully & succinctly explains the latest mask guidance. (Unfortunately you have to be a subscriber to read the whole article.):  "Reduced to a nugget of precision, the best words right now might be: If you are an unvaccinated or otherwise vulnerable person, keep a distance from people who aren’t wearing masks. Everything else is fine print. If you are a vaccinated person going about your business in most respects, it is not your job to compensate for others’ unwillingness to be vaccinated. If you are attending on a vulnerable person, wear a mask. Because children under 12 are not eligible for the vaccine and are at extremely low risk from Covid, their caregivers should be vaccinated or find other work."

Needed Now: a Tougher Stance on Vaccinations

From The Washington Post Breaking News newsletter:  "Doctors, nurses and other health groups call for mandatory coronavirus vaccinations for all health workers as new cases surge. The joint statement — issued by 57 groups, including the American Medical Association and the American Nurses Association — represents an increasingly tough stance by the medical and public health establishment amid the sluggish pace of national vaccinations."

About time! Like others who eagerly got vaccinated as soon as they could, I am fed up with the deliberately and defiantly unvaccinated, and a tough stance like this is exactly what we need, and more often.

We need more great leadership like that of French President Macron. "France passed a new Covid-19 law late on Sunday that makes health passes mandatory for a number of indoor venues as the country faces a fourth wave of infections. The vote came after days of heated parliamentary debates that lasted long into the night and protests against the measure in dozens of French cities... 'A freedom where I don’t owe anything to anyone doesn’t exist,” Mr. Macron told reporters at a hospital in Tahiti, one of the islands. 'What is your liberty worth if you tell me you don’t want to get vaccinated? And tomorrow, you infect your father, your mother or myself. I am a victim of your freedom.'  Mr. Macron cited the possibility that hospitals would have to push back crucial surgeries, as they have during past waves, to make room for Covid-19 patients who had refused to get their shots. 'That is not called freedom,' he said. 'That is called irresponsibility, selfishness.'"

And 160,000 selfish people promptly marched in opposition to this law.

Can you imagine what  our country would have become if the polio vaccine of the 1950s had been met with the same defiance and irresponsibility that these covidiots have displayed?

Start acting like adults before it's too late.

Warning: Anti-Vaxxers Are Hazardous To Our Health

On CNN last night, they devoted a lot of time to interviews with ignorant, dangerous vaccine-refusers. If these two people represent most of the deniers in  our country right now, then we're in even worse shape than I thought. Take heartburn medication or tranquilizers before reading this:

"CNN drove around the western part of Arkansas last weekend, talking to people about whether they'd get the vaccine.
At a convenience store in Mena, Arkansas, Joy Starr said her 8-year-old son had gotten Covid-19. 'He was sick a lot,' Starr said. 'He's been sick a lot for a while. And he's still sick. He's having stomach issues. So I'm going to get him looked at and see if there's further damage. I don't know, I mean, because he got real sick. Fever every day for weeks. And stomach pain.'
Would she and her son get the vaccine? 'No. No vaccine,' Starr said. 'I just don't trust the government.'"

"A man hospitalized with COVID-19 told CBS he'd still rather be sick than get a shot - and it shows how hard it'll be to convince everyone to get vaccinated
A Louisiana man who contracted COVID-19 and wound up hospitalized said he would rather be ill than get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
'Here I am recovering, getting out of here finally tomorrow. Am I going to get a vaccine? No,' Scott Roe told CBS News as he lay in a bed getting supplemental oxygen at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge."

This is insanity. People like this who don't care about themselves or their children should be charged a "COVID-denier fee" on their medical bills.

Stop Begging These Selfish Fools to Get Vaccinated Already!

If this story is true, it  shows you can't reason with stupid!  If these idiots care so little about themselves, their children, and others at risk, why should  anyone else care about them?

Doctor: Patients 'beg me for the vaccine' before being intubated.

Just keep vaccinating those eager and willing to get the shot, keep stressing mask-wearing, social distancing, and common sense.

As Benjamin Franklin said,  "Wise men don't need advice. Fools won't take it." Or as I learned it, "Advice: wise men don't need it, fools won't heed it".

A Role Model for Workers

While jobs go begging today and people refuse to work, some people choose to work into their 90s, like this wonderful lady!

"Florence 'SeeSee' Rigney, said to be America's oldest working nurse, retires at the age of 96"

"'Even working into her nineties, SeeSee has never been one to slow down,' said Laureen Driscoll, president of MultiCare Tacoma General and Allenmore Hospitals, in a statement. 'Some of her colleagues joked that they had to sprint to keep up with her."

A Covidiocy of Dunces

I wonder how long it will be until an American tries a stunt like this.

Guy With COVID Disguises Self as Wife to Get on Flight
(Newser) – "An Indonesian man who tested positive for COVID-19 is accused of disguising himself as his wife in order to board a plane. The man, identified publicly only as DW, allegedly boarded the Citilink flight from Jakarta to Ternate and made it all the way to his destination before he was detained, CNN reports. He got onto the flight wearing a full-body niqab and carrying the ID belonging to his wife, who had tested negative for the coronavirus. But a flight attendant says she saw him enter the bathroom in mid-flight wearing the niqab and exit dressed in his normal clothes, clearly male.

Airport authorities detained him when the flight landed, and a test was administered that came back positive."

Goodbye, Cherry Garcia

Good! I'm glad some U.S. citizens are decent enough to fight back against Ben & Jerry's BDS attack on the Israeli settlements (or, as they had the nerve to call it, the "Occupied Palestinian Territory",

"The Town of Hempstead, Long Island has formally announced a move to cut ties and municipal contracts with Ben & Jerry’s and its parent company, Unilever.
The move comes in the wake of a decision by Ben & Jerry’s to end the sale of its ice cream in Judea, Samaria and post-1967 areas of Jerusalem, which the company’s independent board of directors referred to as 'Occupied Palestinian Territory' in its statement.
'We stand with our Jewish neighbors against anti-Semitism and maintain a strong stance against the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement,' Hempstead Council member Bruce Blakeman wrote in an open letter Wednesday."

It's hard to remember than Ben & Jerry are actually Jewish, and I'll gladly forego my Pistachio Pistachio in .response to their stupidity in trying to use ice cream as a weapon against Israel.

Badgering a Distinguished Old Man

If Dr Fauci had been in a courtroom instead of a hearing room, his lawyer would have objected!

The hostile tone of Rand Paul's voice really riled me up, and when Dr Fauci fought back, I stood up and applauded him.

Dr Fauci isn't to blame for COVID-19. We  know who's at fault, and if Rand Paul has to speak like that, I'd rather he use that voice on the Chinese or on the anti-vaxxers.

"Reality Check"

This is from the Washington Post's July 17  "Trending Now" e-mail:  "In this summer of covid freedom, disease experts warn: 'The world needs a reality check’. Covid-19 is surging again even as many people enjoy a freewheeling summer. Disease experts warn: ‘The world needs a reality check.’Scientists and public health officials fear that the world’s protracted battle against the coronavirus is at a delicate and dangerous moment, with infections growing in places with low vaccination rates even as many in the United States celebrate being freed from the darkest days of the crisis."

The W.H.O.'s epidemiologist Maria Van Kerkhove wrote that phrase, and she ought to know.  I feel as if everyone else is living it up in an alternative universe where there's never been a  pandemic at all, while experts like Dr Van Kerkhove help vindicate my own vigilance.

If you feel this way too, subscribe to COVID newsletters published by the Washington Post, the New York Times, TIME® Magazine, and other reputable sites, as I have done from the start. You can't go wrong.

Good Friday Links

This is a very succinct headline:  "The Delta variant's message to anti-vaxxers: It's your funeral", by Noah Millman, Columnist .

----------------------------------

More proof that there are plenty of jobs out there and plenty of workers who aren't interested in working. TACOMA, Wash., July 14, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- "With explosive job growth continuing across the U.S., a new analysis being released today by staffing firm PeopleReady finds that nearly five million jobs have been posted in the last month, including roughly one million in just the past seven days. In addition, PeopleReady is releasing a list of some of those jobs seeing the most growth—and says many of the jobs coming back fastest will benefit those who had a tough time finding work during the past year.    According to the PeopleReady analysis of millions of jobs, some of the fastest-growing jobs in the past 30 days include:   Food and beverage attendants, including waiters, saw job postings rise 365%;     Catering service workers had a 259% increase; Stockroom associates had a 226% increase; Personal grocery shoppers jumped 146%.; Line cooks rose 133%.;  Delivery drivers are up 100%.; Warehouse associate jobs are also up 100%.".

Meanwhile, every day  I see people begging on the intersections with their cardboard signs, while around them are "now hiring" and "help wanted" signs. How is standing on the median more attractive than working in a warehouse? The word "working" is the difference.

------------------------------------------

Ignore at your own peril.  From Marketwatch:  "The number of new cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. has more than doubled in the last two weeks, as the delta variant continues to race across the nation, infecting both vaccinated and unvaccinated people, who account for more than 99% of recent fatalities.  The average case tally on Wednesday was 26,513, according to a New York Times tracker, up 111% from two weeks ago."

Fox News anchors really have to stop their constant, obnoxious anti-vaccine rhetoric. I thought they were supposed to be fair and balanced. Maybe if one of their own relatives is hospitalized or dies, they will change their tune.  But I dislike it when some say it's such anchors' words that are killing the unvaccinated. No -- it's the unvaccinated people's own stupidity and defiance that's killing them.

------------------------------------------

From Pastor John Hagee, founder and Chairman of Christians United for Israel:  Ilhan Omar’s antisemitism poses a moment of reckoning for Democrats "Through her hatred, Representative Omar has forfeited the privilege to have a seat at the table where important decisions are made. We must be better than empowering bigots with positions of power. We must respond with action. Anything less, and the series of events compels the conclusion that for Speaker Pelosi, one can be an antisemite as long as they’re also a Democrat."

------------------------------------------

Here's another example of  ridiculous complaining and political correctness. Workplaces have more important things to do during a pandemic than make sure they have your size! Lose weight instead of expecting special treatment!

5 ways your workplace isn’t accommodating to fat people
Far too many diversity and inclusion programs ignore fat people. Now that offices are reopening, it’s time to include them, too.

"Her office was giving away T-shirts. 'I can remember where I was standing and what I was doing when I first heard somebody say, ‘I’m not even going to go down because I know they won’t have my size.'' It was a light bulb moment and she vowed to make size inclusiveness a priority from that day forward. She says that she only works with clothing vendors who offer sizes up to 4x and invites employees to let her know if they have specific size requirements or if they want her to set aside a size they need if they’re afraid she might run out. Similar offerings should be made if employees are asked to wear specific uniforms, shirts, etc. And, if accommodating size isn’t possible, offer size-neutral options like cups or coolers."

Some Interesting Items I've Recently Seen

Top health expert says vaccinated people are spreading delta variant
The CDC currently does not require vaccinated individuals to undergo regular testing.
By Alexandra Kelley | July 7, 2021
Speaking to Insider, Christopher Murray, the director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, said that not testing vaccinated people — as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends — may be overlooking some transmission.
'We actually have states where hospitalizations are going up more than cases,' Murray said, adding that 'we're probably missing a bunch of transmission in vaccinated individuals.'

--------------------------------------

David Limbaugh writes about the Biden Administration's collision course with disaster:
"The administration is creating total societal chaos, fomenting disorder and undermining the rule of law at every turn. As the first duty of government is to protect and defend its citizens, we might be alarmed to consider that the administration is engaged in a multipronged strategy to do the opposite. It is shrinking our military, which defends against foreign threats. It is at war with law enforcement, which ensures domestic tranquility, and it is destroying our southern border. It is systematically destroying our liberty and prosperity.
I know I’m not the only one who feels this way and who is seeing this nightmare with eyes wide open. In fact, I’d bet that most Americans sense something is drastically wrong and that this nation is rapidly slipping away right before our eyes as we squander the legacy of liberty bequeathed to us by preceding generations of patriots who toiled and bled to secure and preserve for themselves and us the things that we once knew matter most."

No - you're not the only one who feels this way. I've been wondering myself what kind of a president deliberately sabotages his own country and makes it weaker instead of stronger? Instead of protecting America, he is emboldening our enemies. He has made us energy-dependent; he's allowing thousands of illegal aliens to pour into our country with who knows what diseases; he's helped people change from workers into shirkers; he's so politically correct it's embarrassing; he's not supportive of our police; he's hostile to Israel; his biggest concern is "climate change"; and on and on.

------------------------------

Here's a great column from the Times of Israel:  UAE-Israel peace is more than an agreement. It’s a way of life. The Abraham Accords represent a future that we believe must become more commonplace: one in which differences are set aside in favor of dialogue, by Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Yair Lapid 4 July 2021. No mention of Trump, though.

How we found more family 55 years after Auschwitz
My grandmother never forgot her lost nephew, and my mother searched for years. Eventually, she found out he'd been adopted. That was it. Until suddenly there was more

------------------------------

The Left’s War on Gifted Kids, by David Frum.

"Local progressive activists have found a cause even more unpopular than 'Defund the police,' and are pushing it with even greater vigor."

Obviously, being smart must be racist, so instead of enjoying advanced classes, you should be denied the opportunities and be equally ignorant instead.

Ignorance is Bliss

I like Dr. Kent Sepkowitz's opinion column at CNN on the best way to beat the Delta variant.  Of course, that best way is vaccination.

He concludes that "Thus far, the death of almost 4 million people worldwide, including 605,000 in the US, has failed to convince a third of the people in the United States to get vaccinated. Despite this, public health authorities continue to tiptoe away from using hard-edge 'scare tactic' messages, even though it is certain that these methods work. In fact, one only need to look at the success of anti-vaccination zealots' fearmongering efforts to see their persuasive power.

Enough already. In our collective interest, I would like to introduce my public service announcement, free of charge, and with apologies to the state of New Hampshire: 'America! Live free (of vaccine) and (maybe) die.'"

I agree with the use of  'scare tactic' messages, but wouldn't you think that having 605,000 Americans die horribly would be enough of a scare tactic message for these stupid  people? Obviously not. The higher the death toll, the lower the resisters' IQ.
