Here's your end-of-week reading from Stephen Kruiser's Morning Briefing, Larwyn's Linx, and Maggie's Farm.
MarketWatch has an article today headlined "Trump impeachment inquiry and brutal 2020 election will further stoke ‘toxic’ workplaces, HR experts warn." Brutal 2020 election? It's still only 2019, and that election hasn't even happened yet, but they're already predicting the outcome? If workplaces are toxic, it's thanks to political correctness, which makes people keep their mouths shut rather than giving their opinion on something and receiving a tongue-lashing in return. In all the years I've been working, nobody ever talked about politics -- until Obama ran for president, and then those who did offer an opinion were ostracized for their trouble. Nowadays, it's complete silence -- unless you're a Democrat.

Good News From Israel
What a relief to hear this news: "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been chosen by President Reuven Rivlin to form Israel’s next government, it was announced Wednesday. The president’s office made the announcement after it became clear following two meetings in his office that it would be impossible to create a unity government deal between Likud party leader Netanyahu and his opponent, Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz." It sounds a bit like what Trump has to deal with from the unbalanced Democrats.
Also, check out this open letter to the Prime Minister by João Lemos Esteves. Here's an excerpt:
"For me, the most relevant thing is the resolution to defend the existence and security of the State of Israel.
Even now when most political analysts say you are weaker than you've been in a decade, I say thank you. Gratitude is not valued in politics but it is still an imperative of human conscience.
Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister, for standing up to radical Islamic terrorism, when the so-called 'international community' was drunk in love with US President Barack Obama’s utopian and naive alliance with the exporters of worldwide terror. You had the courage to defy these 'geniuses' and defend Israel and its values.
Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister, for denouncing the barbaric regime of Iran's ayatollahs, who keep their own people hostage while spreading violence, fear, and death all over the world.
Iran is an existential threat to our values, our countries, and our peoples.
And thank you, Mr. Prime Minister, for denouncing so bravely the disastrous Iran nuclear deal – an evil strangely embraced by the main European nations. (Thank God, US President Donald Trump withdrew his country from such a terrible international accord.)
Thank you, Mr. Prime Minister, for making Israel a true startup nation with a great sense of innovation, entrepreneurship and economic growth. Israel has become an example to the whole world of a dynamic and boundlessly creative society with a thriving economy."

The Real Threat
Emma Roberts writes that socialism, not climate change, is the real threat, and of course she's right. I will add that today's Democrats, not Republicans, are another threat. Do you really want the likes of Schiff, Nadler, & Pelosi overthrowing the President we voted for, and stealing the health insurance you've worked for, the 401k you have earned, the wealth you have accumulated, and the economy that has done so well? What's wrong with these people? It's as if they are punishing the rest of us just because Hillary Clinton lost.

People are wondering why teens take videos of people being murdered instead of helping. Here's why. These are psychopaths, people with no souls, conscience, or decency, who were never taught the difference between right & wrong -- or who simply don't care. It's the sick behavior that's the problem.
While the Democrats obsess over impeaching Trump, "Hezbollah agent scouted targets including the White House and Statue of Liberty for terror group." Oh well!
Today's word at Yiddish Vinkl is volkn, meaning cloud. Harold Ticktin offers this example: "Yiddish expression 'A groyser volkn – a kleyner regn / A big cloud-a small rain.' Someone who talks big with little results, boasts, brags, exaggerates but has only a fraction to show for it.' (bit.ly/2kKsv9e)"

Fifties Country Music
I'm having withdrawal symptoms, as Ken Burns' Country Music documentary isn't on TV tonight. Last night's episode included Willie Nelson, Brenda Lee, the love story and success of the songwriting team of Boudleaux and Felice Bryant, and "The rise of Cash and Elvis, and Patsy Cline's tragic death", and for the first time I heard the voice of Lefty Frizzell. I have a feeling I won't like the later episodes as much as I've loved the earlier ones.
You can see the full episodes here.

Live Updates: Gantz in the Lead, Netanyahu's Bloc Shrinks, Arabs Surge, Exit Polls Show. Kahol Lavan overtakes Likud in two exit polls. 'Netanyahu failed, we succeeded,' Gantz tells supporters - Labor, Democratic Union make it in - Kahanists wiped off - Netanyahu to speak soon
Yes, but remember, everyone assumed Hillary Clinton had won, too.

Ken Burns' Captivating "Country Music"
I just love this latest project, despite not liking country music, and I highly recommend it. But can’t we just watch the documentary and enjoy the narration, the human interest stories, and the photography without a lecture? Must everything always be about race & gender? I love all his documentaries, so stop trying to ruin the experience for me.

Oil in the News
I was furious yesterday when I heard about the drone strikes against the Saudi oil field, especially since the Democrats have passed bans on offshore drilling here. Thankfully, despite the Dems, we are energy independent, but this should be a wake-up call Not only are the Democrats trying to destroy our energy capability, but what's to stop terrorists in the U.S. from doing the same thing?
This news was yet another reason why voting for today's Democrats is self-destructive,

You'll enjoy reading today's editions of Stephen Kruiser's Morning Briefing, Maggie's Farm, and Larwyn's Linx!
I liked Stephen Kruiser's succinct debate recap:
"They don't want you armed and able to protect yourself. They don't want you taking care of your children. They don't want you making your own decisions about your healthcare. They want you to pay more in taxes for the privilege of losing your freedoms. What's not to like? Oh yeah, everything.
If one of these nimrods becomes president I'm going to wish the climate was killing us."
And read Kruiser's September 11-related posts: "I covered CNN's claim that "right-wingers" are the real terrorist threat here on Wednesday. The Times went in a different direction, blaming inanimate objects for the attacks."
Wasn't it disgraceful how former ICE Director Tom Homan was attacked by the big-mouthed House Democrats? It reminded me of the vitriol of the Kavanaugh hearings. The thought of these people in power in 2020 makes me ill.

In Appreciation of Memorable Spetember 11 Writing
Here's Gerard Van der Leun unforgettable post "What I Saw: Notes Made on September 11, 2001 from Brooklyn Heights", which I read every year. Make sure to read American Digest often, as there are so many beautifully written and interesting things there.
Daniel Greenfield is another writer I admire. Read his September 11, 2019 column, "Just Another Day", at Sultan Knish. "The left already has the answer. Just give it a day. Toss the wreaths and bow your heads if you must on, but move on. Forget what happened and turn it into a day of good feelings. Give blood, pick up trash in the park and volunteer for disadvantaged youth. Pat yourself on the back. You've done your part. You deserve it. The dead are dead, the war is lost, and all you can do is try to make the world a better place. Here, have a logo." and "The enemy we have been fighting all this time is only the most brutal, radical and impatient, relentless and daring part of the horde that is breaking across Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and America. This is a clash of civilizations. The thousands dead on 9/11 and the thousands more dead since then, are only a small down payment on the horrors to come."
