Memorial Day Poppies

Here's a nice article about Moina Michael, who created the famous poppies program after World War I to honor disabled veterans. Unfortunately, I don't see the vets and their poppies as frequently nowadays as I did as a kid -- yet another tradition gone. (Cartoon by Bob Gorrell)
