A Date Which Will Live In Infamy: Pearl Harbor, Dec.7, 1941

As President Franklin Roosevelt told Congress on December 8, 1941, "Yesterday, December 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy, the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan."

Nobody who lived through that time will ever forget it. My parents used to say that that was the worst day of their lives, until JFK's assassination on November 22, 1963, and the Al Qaeda terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

American was caught by surprise on December 7 and September 11 the way that Israel was caught by surprise on October 7.

From Life magazine, here are dramatic photographs of the American home front after Pearl Harbor was attacked.

I wish Americans today were as united against evil as they were on that day.
