Vote No On Obama and Iran!

Here's the real weasel of the week: Barack Obama! His habitual utter shamelessness and deceit have no bounds. Here's another headline that made me ill: In Conf. Call to Supporters, Obama Says Opponents of Iran Deal ‘Got Us into Iraq’. 

"President Barack Obama appealed to his supporters to be more active and 'get loud' in pushing Congress to approve the Iran nuclear deal, during a 20-minute conference call on Thursday.
Pushing back on critics, the president said he’s 'absolutely convinced that this is a very good deal that we should be proud of.. this deal cuts off the 4 main pathways for Iran to get nuclear weapons… Iran under this agreement can never get a nuclear weapon.'
Obama called out the critics, 'people who would be opposed to any deal with Iran.' He specifically targeted AIPAC, who has formed a tax-exempt lobbying group to oppose the nuclear agreement – 'the 20 million dollars that’s being spent on on ads on TV' – putting them in same category with those 'that were responsible for us getting into the Iraq war' reached last week with Iran."

Also, please read Paul Greenberg's column What's the Alternative?, where the alternative is, of course, continued economic sanctions. "Anyone who criticizes our president's nuclear deal with Iran is bound to be asked: What's the alternative? With the clear implication that there isn't one -- not an acceptable one, anyway. It's either war or peace. A simple, black-and-white, all-or-none choice: It's the president's way or no way -- except war -- to prevent Iran from joining the nuclear club."

Propaganda from Tehran Tom

Oh yes, by all means, this embarrassing commercial by liberals definitely makes me want to change my opinion of the frightening nuclear agreement with Iran.

When you see that commercial juxtaposed with the sight of Kerry hemming and hawing over secret side deals with Iran and the IAEA (which reminded me of Obamacare and having to pass the bill in order to find out what was in it), you really feel ill.

More PC Speech Codes

Read this and laugh:  "'American,' 'illegal alien,' 'foreigners,' 'mothering,' and 'fathering' are just a handful of words deemed 'problematic' by the University of New Hampshire’s Bias-Free Language Guide...Terms also considered problematic include: 'elders,' 'senior citizen,' 'overweight,' 'speech impediment,' 'dumb,' 'sexual preference,' 'manpower,' 'freshmen,' 'mailman,' and 'chairman,' in addition to many others."  

What are they going to do, arrest you if you use these words? As I've said before, people obviously have way too much time on their hands.

Antisocial Insecurity

Disgraceful: "Social Security doesn't expect to pay any cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, to beneficiaries in 2016 because inflation hasn't been high enough to justify it. In 2015, Social Security recipients got a measly 1.7 percent raise -- and many complained about that. But next year is almost certainly going to be worse -- zero percent -- because the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers, CPI-W, as calculated by the Department of Labor, has gone down since January." 

Also, "Social Security Disability is in worse shape, with its trust fund expected to be kaput in 2016. That's unchanged from last year's estimate."  Here's a suggestion to save money:  how about kicking the millions of fraudulent, able-bodied recipients off those rolls?

Playing the Female Card

"Clearly, I'm not asking people to vote for me simply because I'm a woman,'  Clinton responded. 'I'm asking people to vote for me on the merits.'  Then she added: "I think one of the merits is I am a woman. And I can bring those views and perspectives to the White House.'"

Here's the definition of merit: "the quality of being particularly good or worthy, especially so as to deserve praise or reward." Since when is being a woman considered a merit? This shows how desperate she is and how flimsy her resume is if she has to play the female card.

Shame on Him

I really don't know how he gets away with these outrages: "Obama hinted at a vaguely conspiratorial threat from 'talking heads and pundits, and folks who are not going to be making sacrifices' if the deal fails and the U.S. is forced to go to war.  In a thinly veiled reference to AIPAC and other pro-Israel groups who are planning to fight the surrender deal in Congress, Obama said that his supporters will be able to win through and gain approval of the deal, 'Despite the money, despite the lobbyists.'" Yep -- just blame the Jews.

These days, if you don't toe the politically correct liberal party line, you are denounced.  When I see ridiculous stories like this, it's hard to believe that people don't fight back as hard against PC as they did against the Confederate flag:  "In a truly surreal display, NFL great Brett Favre is being denounced by the left’s new cultural commissars for not clapping long and hard enough at ESPN’s ESPY awards, as Bruce/'Caitlyn' Jenner received a 'Courage' award for his efforts to become a woman.  Oddly, Favre did applaud – not doing so would have been a grave heresy to America’s new church of progressive inquisitors. His sin was not applauding enthusiastically enough." I didn't realize it was mandatory to celebrate things you don't approve of.

Shut Up Already

When I see headlines like this, it makes me sick. Family: Tennessee killer was depressed for years. It's the same thing every time. I don't care about the life of the murderer, or his sad childhood, or his diseases, real or fake -- I care only about the lives of the victims he murdered. The only people with a right to be depressed are the loved ones of the people these maniacs kill.

Thinking of the families and friends of the four Marines murdered by yet another Islamic extremist right here at home. What a terrible day for our country.

Instead of cutting thousands of troops from the Army alone, we should be adding to our strength, especially now.

Extreme Entitlement

You've heard of extreme sports? This is extreme entitlement mentality, brought to you by Obama: "A woman reportedly told police she was counterfeiting money because she read online that President Barack Obama created a new law stating that people can start printing their own money."

She said, "I don't give a ****, all these other bitches get to print money so I can too."  I wonder how many "other bitches" are out there; they are probably the same ones who expected Obama to pay for their gas and mortgages!

Just the fact that anyone would actually believe such nonsense and do such a thing shows a complete lack of common sense and an overabundance in the reliance on government.

Appeasement in Vienna

Jack Englehard sums up today's disgraceful Iran deal: They Win. We Lose.  If they ever make another film about World War II, Obama can play Neville Chamberlain, and Kerry can play Nevile Henderson, the British Ambassador to Nazi Germany, who said this: "If we handle him (Hitler) right, my belief is that he will become gradually more pacific. But if we treat him as a pariah or mad dog we shall turn him finally and irrevocably into one." Substitute "the Iranians" for "Hitler", and you have it right. No wonder they're dancing in the streets.

He will fight and win for America. Scott Walker gave a good speech today announcing his run for President, and I'll be rooting for him.

Go to American Digest to read this terrific column, "'Hello, Suckers!' The Left vs The Nice."  I love this:

"The Lukewarm Republicans, in D.C. and in Mayberry, are helping The Left destroy this country and as long as you believe you or someone else can stop The Left with clever tactics in moderate ways you are giving aid and comfort to those that surrender to every fight with The Left.
"You will get no credit for being the first or last to rush to condemn some Republican politician.
"You will get no credit for being the first or last person to have an opinion on the Confederate flag.
"You will get no credit for welcoming or blocking illegals inside the country.

What a disgrace. If it weren't for Commissioner Bill Bratton, New York would resemble the old squeegee-men days before Giuliani cleaned things up and made life safer.

Read Melanie Phillips' column titled Obama's surrender to Iran nears its climax. She's had his number all along. She writes, "Astonishingly, Obama believes that ending sanctions against Iran will transform it into a responsible global player. On the contrary: realising that the Obama administration will never use force against it has already emboldened Iran to widen its deadly grip on the region in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Gaza." 

Remember: in the 1930s, politicians and diplomats thought Hitler's Germany was going to be a responsible global player, too.

Omar Sharif

Here's Aaron Goldstein's tribute to Omar Sharif, who I loved in "Funny Girl" and "Lawrence of Arabia."  (I'm probably one of the few people who never cared for "Dr. Zhivago.")  The word that best describes him is charming.  Michael Douglas said that today's American actors are "asexual and obsessed with social media."  We need more like Omar Sharif, who was a terrific actor, an expert bridge player, and a real man!

Democratic Decline

Did you hear that Jimmy Carter said America is in "inevitable decline" and that it's not Obama's fault?  Investor's Business Daily has a good retort:
"Sorry, Mr. President: But it is your fault, and your current successor's, too. There is nothing inevitable about American decline — any more than there was anything inevitable about America's rise to dominance in the world. The nectar of liberty nourished us in that astonishing ascent, and we can again decide to be great. Indeed, choosing otherwise will lead not to American mediocrity but to the bloody fall of a secure free world.
So it is galling when the worst president of the 20th century excuses the worst president of the 21st century for dragging us down to global impotency...The U.S. doesn't have to resign itself to second-rate status at the hands of China, India, South America or any rising economy. But that is exactly what will happen if we elect more misguided presidents like Carter and Obama, who espouse socialist economics and self-flagellating foreign policies."

What a Bust!

Are ugly statues and tributes the new fad now? First there was that hideous Lucille Ball statue.   Now look at this monstrosity, a statue of Nefertiti in Egypt.  If ISIS wants to destroy Egyptian statues and artifacts, I've got one for them!

Red Lines, Deadlines, and Red Faces

Notice how the deadline for the nuclear agreement with Iran keeps being extended? That doesn't exactly infuse you with confidence.  The Washington Examiner neatly sums it up:  Got it? Continuing to talk past the deadline for a deal without having a deal in place does not constitute an extension of the deadline.
Anyone want to take bets on the next "deadline"?

On The Brink

If people still don't take the ISIS threat seriously, maybe this will convince them: "ISIS has announced that it is setting its sights on Egypt’s pyramids, the Sphinx of Giza, and the country's unique historic monuments in general, after its savage vandalism and looting of other precious world heritage sites." They have no regard for human life and no regard for history. I would hope Americans would be as outraged if ISIS announced it was going to target the Statue of Liberty.

Notice how ISIS is getting closer and closer to Israel.

Also, read Dr. Haim Shine's column "US surrenders without a fight" about America's negotiations with Iran and asks, "It is a given that those who avoid the fight against terrorism will eventually surrender to it. When will the world realize that Islamic terrorism is not just Israel's problem and that a nuclear Iran would not just endanger the Jews?"

"Sicker Than Expected"

Here we go again:  "WASHINGTON — Health insurance companies around the country are seeking rate increases of 20 percent to 40 percent or more, saying their new customers under the Affordable Care Act turned out to be sicker than expected."  No, it's us, the workers and taxpayers, who are sicker than expected -- sick of having to pay more money for a program we never wanted in the first place!  Bring back the free clinics for those people, and leave the rest of us alone.

America Gone Wild

Here are two columns in the same vein, discussing how our culture has turned upside-down.  See David Limbaugh's Don't Give Up on America, and Ken Blackwell's War on The Truth: It's a Progressive Disease.

Here's an excerpt from David Limbaugh: "But what troubles me more than the court's betrayal of its duty to safeguard the Constitution and the rule of law is the apparent complacency among the public about these decisions and the radical shifts we are witnessing in our culture. Why do some seem resigned to the transformation of our society? Why have they surrendered? Do they strongly believe in anything anymore? Do they not understand the implications for the future of this nation -- if not for themselves, for their children?...

Is our side asleep? Have they given up? Are they numb? Do they care? Are they cowards? Would they rather be thought of as wonderful and tolerant by these intolerant people than stand up for what they believe in? Or do they believe in much of anything anymore?

I find it inconceivable that in the past five years Americans' opinions concerning same-sex marriage have changed as drastically as certain polls and commentators suggest. It's as if because President Obama came out and admitted he favors same-sex marriage, everyone else is compelled to agree. Even if the polls show this, I don't believe a majority yet accepts, in its heart of hearts, that same-sex marriage is the way to go. My suspicion is that it's more a reflection of the bullying and propaganda than a societal change of heart.

Could I be wrong on this? Could society be that fickle -- so apathetic about serious issues that they can turn on a dime? I'm not buying it. But I do believe people increasingly lack the courage to voice dissenting opinions against the politically correct position. 

But I haven't given up hope. We can't give up on America. I don't believe American conservatism and traditional values are dead, but they are very, very sick. They need a doctor -- in the form of a fearless proponent of our ideas, which spawned the greatest nation in history and can help to bring it back. During this chaotic GOP primary process, hopefully a leader will emerge who believes in America and can inspire like-minded people toward a political revival. In the meantime, a spiritual revival in our culture is long overdue." 

Well, that sounds wonderful, but with the media on the side of Democrats and liberals, will any GOP candidate get a fair shake, especially if he's not promising freebies? I doubt it. But this country can't endure 4 more years of Democratic destruction, either.

I was ready to feel sorry for the Greeks over their economic miseries until I read this: "A new poll by the Anti-Defamation League found that the majority of Greeks continue to hold anti-Semitic views about Jewish control over finance and the global economy, despite a recent drop in anti-Jewish attitudes in other parts of Europe."  Hmm -- wasn't that how Hitler came to power?
