Today's Galling Story

There are many galling stories today, but I found the utter nerve of this one to take the cake.

Con: Fund my sex change
By Dave Wedge

Not satisfied with his taxpayer-funded female hormones and laser hair removal, a convicted killer-turned-transsexual is again asking the state to pony up to complete his transformation into a woman. Robert Kosilek, who is serving life in prison for strangling his wife, was back in federal court yesterday, again demanding that the state Department of Correction pay for his sex-change operation.

-------------------------

Here's a man -- yes, I said man -- who murdered his wife and should have been executed, and he is making these sick demand. Taxpayers and non-taxpayers alike ought to be outraged at this story.

Or are we supposed to feel sorry for him/her/it because he/she/it is a "victim"?

Admission of the Week

Now here is an amazing admission by the Washington Post, of all people. How nice of them to finally say so. "The Catastrophe Wasn't Katrina" --- and it wasn't George W. Bush, either! Let's see if the mainstream TV news networks bother to mention this "overwhelming evidence".

THE CATASTROPHE WASN'T KATRINA

By Eugene Robinson
Tuesday, May 30, 2006; Page A17

The evidence, by now, is overwhelming: Beautiful, decadent New Orleans wasn't doomed by Hurricane Katrina but by decades of human incompetence and neglect. As far as the drowned city is concerned, the greatest natural disaster in the nation's history would have been just a messy inconvenience if not for the fumbling hand of man.

That Iranian Lunatic Strikes Again

You know, if he weren't so serious, these things would almost seem amusing. Ahmadinejad of Iran now claims a worldwide conspiracy of Zionists is trying to prevent him from going to the World Cup soccer match in Germany.

He also said that since the Holocaust never happened anyway, the Jews should be moved out of Israel and back to Europe where they came from!

Well, THIS Zionist won't prevent him from attending the World Cup. LET him go to Germany, and may he get killed there by other Iranians!

Will NOT Work for Money

Today while driving around a large shopping center, I saw a young man standing on the median holding up a sign that said something to the effect of, "Need money". All around him, the stores had help wanted signs, including a brand new restaurant being built that has a sign urging prospective employees to call for an application. I can understand if you are elderly or crippled, and you can't work. But when you are young and healthy and can stand on a corner for hours expecting people to hand you their money, it's another matter. Recently I and other shoppers were accosted by young people as we exited a store. "Can you give me some money?" one of them asked. I replied, "Why don't you apply for a job?", and he actually said that he didn't want to follow rules of "some corporation". The fact is, young people today are being raised not with a work ethic, but with an entitlement mentality that tells them that people will give them something for nothing. This mentality will only expand as illegals flood into our country and expect to be supported by those of us who choose to work. I just get very exasperated.

Baptizing Dead Jews

Diane sent me this disturbing story, about how the names of Jewish Holocaust victims continue to show up in the Mormon church's genealogical records, and how those victims are also being baptized posthumously!

This is Hard to Swallow

My pal Diane brought this story to my attention, another example of the food police out of control.

Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania -

Chew on this.

A junior high school student was suspended for three days for sharing chewing gum because it contains caffeine, school officials said. The girl, whose age and grade were not released, gave another student Jolt gum. The gum is "a stimulant that has no other redeeming quality," said Burrell School District Superintendent Amy Palermo.

Judge: Man is too short for prison
AP via Yahoo! ^ | 5/25/06 | AP

SIDNEY, Neb. - A judge said a 5-foot-1 man convicted of sexually assaulting a child was too small to survive in prison, and gave him 10 years of probation instead.
His crimes deserved a long sentence, District Judge Kristine Cecava said, but she worried that Richard W. Thompson, 50, would be especially imperiled by prison dangers.

"You are a sex offender, and you did it to a child," she said. But, she said, "That doesn't make you a hunter. You do not fit in that category."

More on the Frozen Money

Why are the Republicans so upset over the FBI search of Democratic Congressman William Jefferson's home, during which that bribe money was found in the freezer? If they were smart, they'd keep quiet and let the Democrats self-destruct over this. I can't imagine the Democrats rushing to help out a Republican, if the situation were reversed.

Oy, Oprah!

I have never understood Oprah Winfrey's appeal. or the slavish devotion of her followers. So it was with added annoyance that I heard she is visiting Auschwitz. Is it sweeps week already?

Money in the Freezer

The story of Congressman William Jefferson's frozen bribe money reminds me of Sandy Berger and the stolen documents that just happened to leap into his pants and socks!

Veterans' Files Stolen

This story is very suspicious. First, why would the VA employee be allowed to take home a disk or CD containing such sensitive data containing veterans' personal information? Also, the supposed "burglary" of this data is very fishy. What kind of a burglar would ignore money and property and look for data on vets? How would he even know where to look?

My first thought was that the employee lost the data and invented the story of the burglary to get himself off the hook.

Obscene Verdict of the Day

Mom not guilty
Devin Gibson’s mother acquitted in murder, abuse trial
Eight-year-old Devin Gibson died from heat exposure in her car while she worked a double, weekend shift as a nurse’s assistant at a Jackson County nursing home. Prosecutors had said Devin for at least part of that time was kept in the trunk of the car.

To refer to this human garbage as a "mom" is an insult to real mothers who would never think of locking their kids in hot car trunks. Think of the terror this poor child must have gone through before he died. But, none of this is her fault -- it's the fault of society for not having affordable daycare! The jury that acquitted her is just as bad. I will never understand how people can make excuses for the inexcusable.

And soon we will be hearing more stories about people leaving their children to die in hot cars because they "forgot" about them. It won't be their fault, of course, and they too will be acquitted.

We Don't Need No Stinking Badges

From what I have read, the story about Iranian Jews being made to wear yellow star badges of identification is now being reported as not completely true. It has not definitely been reported as a hoax -- but the story hasn't been entirely withdrawn, either. If it turns out to be a hoax, it only gives the antisemites yet another excuse to blame the Jews. And if it is a hoax, it gives the newspaper world another black eye.

The Latest Installment of "Where Were the Parents?"

Court TV is showing a trial at which the school system is being sued because 2 mini-thugs cut class, drank vodka, and died of alcohol poisoning. Of course it's the school's fault, not the fault of the so-called parents.

Barry Bonds

Barry Bonds has tied Babe Ruth's home run record, and there is no joy in Mudville. The best sign so far was one that said "The Babe Did it on Hot Dogs and Beer" -- and NOT steroids! Bonds' record-breaking entry requires an asterisk, because he's simply not even in the same stratosphere as the Babe and Hank Aaron. Either that, or remove the asterisk from poor Roger Maris' record.

Does this sound at all familiar to anyone? Let's see if this obscenity even makes the TV news programs at all. Meanwhile, all of us Jews should make sure to wear our Star of David proudly. If you don't already wear one, buy one. Let's show our solidarity with the Jews of Iran. Let's make sure that history doesn't repeat itself and that this time we wear our Stars voluntarily and with pride, rather than as a symbol of hatred sewed to our clothing.

Letting Illegals Vote in NC

http://www.nbc17.com/news/9234308/detail.html?taf=tri

What is wrong with these people? And why should we legal citizens even bother voting any more if the whole process is being subverted in this way?

Not Trying Hard Enough

Tonight, John Gibson had a guest on Fox News who claimed she couldn't get any Americans to do landscaping work, so she was forced to hire illegal aliens. She claimed she had tried and tried to get American workers, to no avail. I find this hard to believe. Either she hasn't looked hard enough, or this is just another excuse for accepting illegals into America.

Here's a suggestion I have not heard from anyone. Why don't potential employers go to the nearest unemployment office or welfare office? They can ask for 10 able-bodied men to get out of line and take a job. If you are supposedly desperate for a job, wouldn't you take the job? There should not be a choice. If you are able-bodied and refuse to work, your benefits should be cut off. By taking these jobs, you prevent illegals from taking them. Isn't that the patriotic thing to do?

I Should Have Known

It's not only Mexico who is going to sue the United States if our National Guard catches and sends back illegal aliens. Will you be at all surprised to learn that the American Civil Liberties Union (who hasn't met a criminal they haven't liked) may actually assist Mexico in filing the lawsuits!

The Mexican Invasion

In yet another example of incredible gall, the Mexican government is now suing the United States for stopping illegal immigrants from entering our country!

At first, I thought this was a very bad joke, or else a piece of satire by Andy Borowitz or Scrappleface. Unfortunately, it's all too true.

We need leaders courageous enough to defy political correctness and simply say, "This is our country. You are not welcome. Lawsuits will be thrown out of court". End of discussion.

We should not have to apologize to foreigners for the way we run our country.

If the bleeding heart liberals in this country want to help the illegals, they can adopt them, support them financially, pay all their bills, and treat them for TB and whatever other diseases they are spreading. I just don't want MY tax dollars supporting criminals and bums.

Plane? What plane?

Well, here they go again. On Fox News tonight they showed the film footage of
Flight 77 being flown into the Pentagon on September 11. Here we are, 5 years after the fact, yet the news anchors still feel compelled to explain over and over that yes, a jet really did fly into the Pentagon. These crackpot 9/11 conspiracy theorists are the same type of people who claim that the Holocaust never happened.

"Bush Depression Syndrome"

Howard Kurtz's column in Friday's Washington Post used the phrase "Bush Depression Syndrome" to describe what so many of us loyal Republicans have been feeling these days. Whenever the Democrats look ready to self-destruct and the Republicans seem to have the upper hand, the Republicans fall apart. This has happened time and time again, but I am feeling particularly depressed these days because in caving in to illegals, we are all but inviting Hillary Clinton to take the White House away from us. The President hasn't even given his speech yet, but already the reviews are negative. Will we simply hand our country over to illegal aliens rather than stand up to political correctness?

A Good Deed from Captain Kirk

Now here is some positive news I enjoyed hearing about, an antidote to the visits to Israel by publicity-seeking celebrity goyim like Madonna and Whitney Houston!

(By the way, if you liked the Shatner version of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", you will love this! http://www.devilducky.com/media/29841/)

http://www.israelnn.com/news.php3?id=103626

Jewish Actor William Shatner, famous for his role in the Star Trek series, plans to visit Israel in the coming weeks. Shatner, whose parents immigrated to Canada from Ukraine, is visiting the Jewish State as part of the Jewish National Fund's efforts to raise $10 million for therapeutic riding centers across Israel.

...............

The actor is excited about the construction of centers using riding as therapy across Israel. One such center is located at Kibbutz Grofit. It offers psychological evaluations and therapy designed to meet the needs of physically, emotionally, and mentally handicapped children. The center, staffed by medical professionals and using horses, runs the length of the school year, September through July.

Shatner said he hopes to create cooperation on the project between Israelis and Arabs from both the PA-controlled areas and the Hashemite Kingdom in Jordan. "What better way to create dialogue than by helping handicapped children from different countries feel good about themselves?" Shatner said of the project.

Bush Disrupts TV

For those who still don't think the media is biased, get a load of the wording of this item. The nerve of the President! How dare he interrupt such vital programs as "Prison Break"!

http://www.tvtattle.com/

Bush disrupts Monday TV

For the second year in a row, President Bush is preempting May sweeps to address the nation at 8 pm ET on Monday. His address on immigration, which should run about a half hour, will disrupt the season finales of "Prison Break" and, possibly, "How I Met Your Mother." Also affected will be Oprah Winfrey's "Legends Ball," which precedes the two-hour "Grey's Anatomy" finale.

Another "Prank"

This has to be one of the most tasteless "pranks" yet. Here is a double murderer who makes light of the fact that he rode in a Ford Bronco getaway vehicle. You can be sure that Nicole Brown's and Ron Goldman's families didn't find this prank very amusing.

O.J. Simpson To Sell Prank DVD Online
by UPI Wire
May 12, 2006

LOS ANGELES, May 12, 2006 (UPI) -- The father of murder victim Ron Goldman says O.J. Simpson's "punk'd" style DVD in which he tries to sell his infamous Ford Bronco is "morally reprehensible."

Simpson's DVD called "Juiced" has the former football star pulling pranks while a hidden camera rolls, TV's "Inside Edition" in Los Angeles reports.

One of the pranks has Simpson trying to sell the infamous white Bronco at a used car lot, telling a prospective buyer: "The car has escapability (sic), if you ever get into some trouble."

Simpson, who still owes $33.5 million to the families of Ron Goldman and his former wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, plans to market "Juiced" on the Internet.

Entitlement mentality

What has happened to people that they have the nerve to expect you the taxpayer to give them things they can't afford? Instead of working hard and scrimping & saving, the way the rest of us do, they have this attitude that says, "You owe me."

Today I received a call in which the caller asked where she could receive a donation of a car. I couldn't believe my ears, and I asked her if she meant she wanted to donate her old car to my workplace. But no, I had indeed heard correctly -- she wanted a car. To be handed to her. Free.

I've heard some nervy requests before, but this one takes the cake.

Can you imagine yourself making such a demand?

Good list of Jewish blogs

I came across this post called "blogs a rabbi must follow", but it can also be called "blogs Jews will enjoy". There are so many good Jewish weblogs around, and it's always nice to discover new ones.

T.B.? P.U.!

Michelle Malkin already used the "TB or not TB" line I would have used for the title of this post. What is the matter with Americans and their misplaced sympathy for illegals? Read this item about the doctor who treated an illegal with TB. Of course, there's no mention of having this patient pay the $200,000 hospital tab!

Sue Nation

I despise political correctness, and I also despise lawsuits, where people would rather blame others than take any personal responsibility whatsoever. You're obese? Blame McDonald's. You're driving with hot coffee on your lap? Sue Starbucks. You get into a car accident while babbling on your cell phone? It's the fault of Verizon Wireless. And now, if you're stupid enough to play on train tracks, sue Amtrak!

Playing chicken on railroad tracks

Kent, Wash.: A suit against Amtrak is set to go to trial next month on behalf of the survivors of a pair of 11- and 13-year-old girls who engaged in that ill-advised pastime. "The case apparently is the only one of its kind in [Washington] state where an appellate court" -- that would be the Ninth Circuit -- "has reversed the dismissal of a case against a train company." (Nancy Bartley, "Lawsuit in train deaths is beating the odds", Seattle Times, May 3).

"Prank" of the day

When I was a kid, the word "prank" meant something amusing and harmless, like ripping a piece of paper when someone sat down, so he'd think his pants had torn. Today the word "prank" has been watered down so much that it's used even when someone is harmed. Here's the latest example of it -- hilarious, isn't it?

More Bleeding Heart Liberalism

I was raised to believe that if you can't afford something, you do without it. You do NOT expect someone else to pay for you or to give you something for nothing. So I found this headline hard to believe. Of course few eateries have signed up! They will lose the patrons who work hard and save money so they can go out to eat. The entitlement mentality keeps growing, and this is yet another example of it. When will it end?

Muslim Americans upset over new 9/11-related film
insidebayarea ^ | 05/07/06 | Jonathan Jones

http://www.insidebayarea.com/sanmateocountytimes/localnews/ci_3795512

FREMONT — At the United Muslim American symposium in Newark, Muslim-American leaders discussed the rhetoric regarding Iran, the war in Iraq, and the image of the United States in Islamic countries. But some also expressed concern that "United 93," a new film about the last moments of the last hijacked plane to crash on Sept. 11, 2001, could stir up anti-Islamic sentiments

Biased news reporting

My friend Diane wondered why there was no coverage of people protesting against illegal aliens, only coverage of people marching in support of illegal aliens. The answer is simple: media bias. The media tells you what it thinks you should know.

There was an amazing example of media bias in the newspaper yesterday. The large headline on the front page of the paper edition read "Hungry forced to move". A person reading those words would picture an evil landlord forcibly evicting a poor, hungry family. The real story is that a mission to feed the homeless in an Asheville park has become so large, they have outgrown their space and must find larger quarters. The headline was deliberately worded in an inflammatory manner, which is common in this paper. It should have been worded, "Mission to feed the homeless requires more space".

Here is the story in the online edition:

http://www.citizen-times.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060506/NEWS01/60505062/1001/archives

This is yet another reason why newspaper readership has declined, and why more people use the Internet to get their news.

Complacency

Someone was on TV earlier saying that America has returned to its pre-9/11 complacency. Explain to me how you can forget so quickly that 4 jets were used as terrorist weapons, that 2 indestructible skyscrapers collapsed, that 2,000+ people were murdered, that survivors live with burns and nightmares. I wondered after Oklahoma City how much worse it would have to get before Americans became outraged enough. At that time, 168 innocents were killed. That was in 1995, 2 years after the first World Trade Center bombing. How can people forget these things? Much of it is explained by political correctness, a reluctance by many to tell the difference between good and evil, and right & wrong; an inability or refusal to judge. So again I ask: how much worse will it get, and how many more thousands will have to die, before Americans wake up?

Chappaquiddick without the Girl

The Patrick Kennedy story gets better and better. Last night CNN's headline said "Medications Led to Crash", as if the medications had been driving the car. Today, Kennedy claims he doesn't even remember the accident. If you believe this story, I have a bridge to sell you. Let's see how many other excuses are offered before the day is over.

Question: will the Massachusetts voters who continue to vote for Kennedys purely because of the name re-elect him anyway?

Spineless

Well, the jury decided to spare Moussaoui's life due to "mitigating factors", which included the old "bad childhood" excuse. It seems that the jury could not find him threatening enough to give him the death penalty. Not threatening enough! He will probably become a hero to the other thugs in jail while receiving three meals a day and free health care at taxpayer expense. I'm nauseous.

POLITICALLY CORRECT IN AMERICA

I don't understand why people are so apologetic when it comes to protecting our country. Why should we apologize for requiring Americans to speak English and obey our laws? This is our country -- there is no need to justify anything we do, and there is no need for apologies to illegals or anyone else! It makes us look weak and stupid. If non-Americans (and un-American Americans) don't like our way of life, nobody is forcing them to stay here. But we have every right to set our own laws, sing our own National Anthem, use our English language, and show American pride without reservation.

Anna Nicole

I think the Supreme Court must have been so dazzled by the larger-than-life Anna Nicole Smith (and her cleavage) that they were mesmerized into ruling on her behalf 9-0. Whoever said "there's no fool like an old fool" must have had her late "husband" in mind!
