Better Call Donald

Sometimes I wonder if Donald Trump realizes he has bitten off more than he can chew and is deliberately trying to get out of the race, sort of like Jimmy the other night on Better Call Saul.

Making An Impression

I always enjoy Greg Crosby's columns, and this one about John Byner brought back some memories of a terrific talent.

Argus Hamilton Quips

Click here for Argus Hamilton's latest takes on the news, including this one that I greatly enjoyed: "President Obama was reported Monday making plans for his farewell tour of Western Europe this coming month. He’s certain to be honored there. If the Germans named a passenger blimp after President Obama, by the time it crashed and burned it could restore the good name of Hindenburg."

Ignorance is Bliss

I liked Alicia Colon's column about voters: "When Donald Trump makes speeches acknowledging these governmental handouts for anybody but American citizens and legal residents, he is speaking to the anger of so many everywhere so why should we be surprised he is leading the pack. But if this country is such a mess, don’t we, the people, bear some of that responsibility? It may seem amusing when late night shows mock the stupidity of those interviewed who can’t identify any politician, even the vice president or well known senators. The country is in such a mess because there are too many of us who say they’re not interested in politics.
We need to know exactly who’s running our lives and one can almost be certain that if it’s a Democrat, your taxes will go up, your civil rights will be limited unless you are a chosen minority or undocumented immigrant. You can also bet on the income redistribution from the makers to the takers and our national security will be imperiled even more than Europe’s.
The America that Trump wants to make great again is still here but unless we start waking up and start voting smart, we are all Brussels."

I know people who have absolutely no interest in current events or politics and seem completely unfazed by terrorist attacks, and you can't talk to them about these things. How is this possible in this day and age?

Say "Hijacked"!

I had predicted that some moronic passengers would feel sorry for the hijacker of their EgyptAir flight, but I never imagined that one of them would actually pose for a picture with him! How ignorant and self-absorbed can you get?

This has given Islamic terrorists inspiration for a new method: just pose for pictures before you blow up the airplane!

Watcher's Council

The Council has spoken! Here are the latest Watcher's Council results!

Speaking of weasels, read Kyle Smith's column about Obama's week: "What this week really demonstrated was not that Obama has a wee problem with 'the optics' of his job, but that he’s stuck forever in campaign mode, confusing rhetoric with leading. ISIS just laughs and reloads when the president chides them."

Bathrooms: The Latest PC Battleground

When I first saw the protests on the news, I assumed the protests were against men using women's bathrooms and vice versa. You know things have gone absolutely insane in this country when it turns out the protesters are actually for it!  "Uproar breaks out in North Carolina over 'anti-LGBTQ' law that says people must use bathroom that corresponds with the sex stated on their birth certificate."

The "uproar" is by a minority of people over a common sense decision that should not even have had to be made in the first place! Let's hope this transgender fad ends soon.

Oh Well!

Every time there's a lack of response and a shrug of the shoulders in response to an Islamic terrorist attack or plot, the murderers become ever bolder. Maybe people will finally stop the suicide by political correctness if the terrorists hit the Statue of Liberty or the Eiffel Tower or Big Ben: Were Brussels jihadis trying to make a RADIOACTIVE BOMB? Expert says ISIS may have been plotting to steal nuclear material – as 11 power plant workers have their access revoked amid fears of 'insider help'.

But of course we're just "Islamophobic". Shame on us!

I've been saying this for years: What more will it take?

Terrorist Bracketology

Cartoon by Bob Gorrell.

Sympathy for the Devil

This is why I never expect any other reaction after a murderous terrorist attack: USA Today: “It’s already been a rough few months for Belgian Muslims”. I'm sure the friends and families of the dead and injured are very understanding. Also, read Michelle Malkin's column titled  Post-Jihad Gesture Theater: Je Suis Sick of It.

Imagine a similar headline during the Blitz, "It's been a rough few months for Germans."

Or after September 11: "It's been a rough month for Saudi Arabians".

Yes, by all means let's send condolences and sympathy cards to the JV Team, in care of The White House.

Barbarians in Brussels

Here we go again: another terrorist attack by Muslim extremists, and the usual reactions and responses.  How about sending in the army and cleaning out these "no-go" zones in France, England, and other European countries? How about stopping the flow of immigrants and terrorists from the Middle East instead of committing suicide? How about ending the politically correct lies and propaganda about our "Islamophobia?"

Would people stand for this if these were Nazis rather than ISIS committing these savage murders? Does anyone even remember what happened on September 11, 2001?

There's more outrage over Trump than there is over these atrocities, and I'm sick of it!

Wild Blue Yonder

National Review has a terrific photo essay on the Blue Angels Navy flying squadron. When I was a kid I saw the Air Force Thunderbirds and never forgot it.

The Messiah in Cuba

I wonder if there will be fainting women, swooning admirers, packed stadiums, and a Greek coliseum for Obama this week in Cuba?  If he intends to fundamentally transform Cuba the way he transformed us, the Cubans are in even worse trouble now!

Here's Rubio's statement on this disgraceful visit.

Denouncing the U.N.

They will stage a protest demonstration outside the Palais des Nations, the European UN headquarters, where the UNHRC will be sitting to discuss a series of anti-Israel resolutions.
Since its creation, 10 years ago, the UN body has written more resolutions against Israel than the rest of the world combined, ‘’a fact which points to the failure of the Council to fulfil its role in an objective and effective manner,’’ the pro-Israel organisations said."

Dirty Tricks All Over Again

I always thought that every vote counts, but now it sounds like it counts only if you vote for certain people, or if you are a Democrat.

If the pundits keep telling us that we're too stupid, racist and sexist to matter, and that politicians are actively plotting against Trump, voters are going to wonder whether their ballot actually matters at all. You may as well call Hillary Clinton "Madame President" right now.

Also, stop telling us that we're violent, and don't blame us if harm comes to the Trump family.  I'm sure whoever sent the white powder and threatening letter to Eric Trump wasn't a Republican.

Lots 'o Links

If you aren't exhausted already from all the news of the week, here's more from Betsy's Page, Larwyn's Linx, and Maggie's Farm.

There ought to be a new cable channel called White Noise TV for relief from all the constant political hubbub!

I like this comment in Victor Davis Hanson's latest column,  When Will Obama Stop Blaming Republicans for His Failures?  "When Obama has not been busy blaming former President George W. Bush for various problems, Obama and his handlers have attributed the anemic economy to 'fat cat bankers,' the '1 percent,' and 'corporate-jet owners.'"  If Hillary gets elected, will she blame Obama or Bush?

The Sidewalks of New York

Here's a nostalgic article about the original food trucks -- pushcarts and horse-drawn wagons in long-ago Brooklyn. Many of us grew up hearing these stories from our grandparents, while others are old enough to have experienced them personally.

All Bark, No Bite

I had to laugh at the Trump ad showing that Hillary Clinton won't be tough enough against foes like ISIS and Vladimir Putin.  It reminded me of Hillary's own ad asking who you wanted to answer the phone when it rang at 3 am.

It figures that her supporters are attacking him for showing her barking like a dog even though it's her own fault that she barked in the first place!

Politics

I liked this column by John Sapochetti: Despite what polls say, Marco Rubio is the candidate GOP desperately needs.

Meanwhile, here's a take on Obama: The biggest problem with U.S. foreign policy? Obama's own preening self-regard. Remember - the fact that the world and the nation are collapsing has nothing whatsoever to do with him.

A Candid Photograph

Photo shows Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush together at Reagan's funeral
Even though I can't stand Hillary Clinton, I do love President George W. Bush, and this photo of the two of them makes her look almost genuine and warm.(I still wouldn't vote for her, though.)

Allies As Enemies

We already knew how Obama feels about Netanyahu, but it was still a surprise to read what he thinks about David Cameron!

What a disgrace and an embarrassment that he would badmouth our allies while still in office, all the while fawning over enemies such as Iran!

Can you guess the identity of the Weasel of the Week? It's Failed GOP Candidate Mitt Romney!!

Lots 'o Links

Here's the latest from Betsy's Page, Maggie's Farm, and Larwyn's Linx.

Supposedly, Bernie Sanders is the antidote to 'Trump anxiety'. Sorry, I'd rather take the poison.

The Pot Calling The Kettle Black

Oh, this is a good one. The absolute gall! I'm still counting the days till he's out of office.  Obama sees Netanyahu as most disappointing of all Mideast leaders — report.

Argus Hamilton Quips

This zinger is from Argus Hamilton's March 7th column: "Mitt Romney ripped Donald Trump's character and judgment in a speech on Thursday. One thing's for sure. If Romney had gone after Obama with the same venom as he just did a fellow Republican, he would be running for re-election today and the two-term limit would have been lifted"

Today's Tidbits

Here are some things I saw during my Internet-skimming today:

From Daniel Greenfield: "Sanders supporters who feel the Bern dreaming of all the free stuff they will get might want to look at history and ask themselves whether they will end up standing on one of Bernie’s bread lines instead."

From Liz Peek: "Establishment Republicans are horrified that the nominee may not be one of them. My advice: get over it. Start to find common ground with Trump and help him beat Hillary, or he will indeed destroy the party."

From World Jewish Daily:  "Instead of going out of office with a whimper, new reports indicate that Obama plans to punish the Jewish state with a U.N. resolution that would set the terms for any future 'peace deal.' Of course, this resolution will not be favorable to Israel, since making peace with a people who only want your destruction is impossible."

Boeing Centennial

I just love this commercial for Boeing.

See more at this link.

Running Against Obama

While the Republicans are attacking one another, everyone's forgetting to attack Obama, who's responsible for getting our country into this mess in the first place!

Today I liked Allen B. West's column titled Forget OJ’s knife; here’s how we’re ALL getting stabbed in the back by Obama NOW.   Unless you depend on freebies from Democrats to get by, and a job means nothing to you, and you're certain you're a victim of something or someone, do you really want 4 more years of Obama policies?

Nancy Reagan R.I.P.

No matter how you might have felt about Ronald Reagan as President, there's no denying how he and Nancy felt about each other. Just read his letters to her. The sight of her kissing his casket at the funeral was one I'll never forget. Theirs was a true love story.

More About the E-Mail

From The Washington Post: "Hillary Clinton wrote 104 emails that she sent using her private server while secretary of state that the government has since said contain classified information, according to a new Washington Post analysis of Clinton’s publicly released correspondence."

It's too much to ask, but how I'd love it if they find e-mails between Hillary and Clinton agreeing to blame Benghazi on a video!

By the way, I wonder if Bernie Sanders is still sick and tired of hearing about her "damn e-mails"?

Post-Trump Stress Disorder

These people need to get a life: Psychologists and massage therapists are reporting ‘Trump anxiety’ among clients.  Maybe they can find a 'safe space' to hide in! Maybe they can sue Trump for emotional distress! The disability rolls might swell even more now!

I'm sorry I didn't think of trying this myself in 2008 when Obama was elected!

(As seen at Free Republic.)

Watcher's Council

The Council has spoken! Here are this week's Watcher's Council results!

The statuette of shame known as the Golden Weasel has been presented to some deserving candidates in the past. This week's Weasels of the Week are the despicable Racist Hate Crime Hoaxsters Ariel Agudio, Alexis Briggs, and Asha Burwell!!

Lots 'o Links

This has been a wild news week, so catch up with the fine folks at Betsy's Page, Maggie's Farm, and Larwyn's Linx.

Here's Something Wonderful, as seen at American Digest.

I agree with Heather Wilhelm: I Don’t Care If We Never Have A Woman President. Hillary Clinton’s problem is that she’s Hillary Clinton, not that she’s a woman.

I would like to know who put Mitt Romney up to making that anti-Trump speech. Maybe they figure that because he failed at becoming the President himself, he has nothing to lose, and he can't get ridiculed any more than he already has been.  I think this will rally more people to Trump even as it gives more ammunition to Hillary Clinton. Thanks a lot, Mitt!

Four More Years of This!

At Zero Hedge, Tyler Durden asks, "Can Americans Handle Four More Years Of This?"  The answer is no, but you just go ahead and elect Hillary Clinton anyway.
