Here's a list of reasons that Hanukah is better than Christmas. One reason not on the list is that we don't participate in frenzied shopping stampedes. I always have to explain that no, Hanukah is NOT like Christmas, and that it's NOT all about expensive gift-giving. They can't seem to grasp the concept.
