A New Version of "Duck & Cover" -- For Sitting Ducks

Now here's a sharp idea from the Obama Administration!  If your workplace is attacked by a gun-wielding disgruntled employee, either duck under your desk, or (if only as a last resort, mind you, so as not to hurt him) attack him with scissors! I certainly feel safer now, don't you?

Unemployment is Job One

We shouldn't be surprised that Obama disbanded his useless Council on Jobs. The only job he's interested in is his own. The more people are dependent on government, the more Democrats will be elected -- that's all that matters in their dream world.  The work ethic? Success? Personal responsibility?  These values are falling by the wayside, and hardly anyone is fighting back.  Don't forget: it's "the new normal"!

Hagel: Too Little, Too Late

It's too late to apologize for using the slur "the Jewish lobby". We know what that means, and we never forget.

Andrew Klavan has a column about Hagel titled "Hey, Jews, the Joke’s on You!", and it's a must read.

When Men Were Men

What a great Shackleton-like adventure story about polar explorer Douglas Mawson! It's amazing how strong and tough these men were, despite primitive conditions. Today, with every technological advance at their disposal, what passes for so-called "men" are represented by the parasites who appear on TV before Judge Judy.

The Difference

You'll notice there are no Jews rioting in the streets over this.

Cooking Up Trouble

Chris Matthews said: "People that believe in border protection, who believe you can stop somebody from coming into this country by higher towers, or more drones, or more people working there, I think are right-wingers or idiots. If you want to work and you're looking for a job, you're going to come to America." And if you don't want to work and prefer receiving welfare, food stamps, and other dependency checks along with the millions of Americans who already do, just come on in -- the economy's fine! It's the liberals and the politicians who are the real idiots!

"Jewish Stockholm Syndrome"

Israpundit has a good article about giving F16s to Egypt: "And, really, how dumb must a Jew be to support an anti-Jewish organization like the Muslim Brotherhood?  How profound must the Jewish Stockholm Syndrome be to literally suggest that the rise of political Islam throughout the Middle East is a good thing because it represents 'democracy'?"

The Female Manti Te'o

At least Manti didn't bilk people, but see how easy it is to lie? "Serving soldier's mother defrauded church of cash donations by saying she had four sons all killed in combat, police claim."

Here's another terrific Gary Varvel cartoon.

The Morsi the Merrier

That's gratitude for you: "Morsi: Jewish-controlled media distorted my 'apes and pigs' remark". And we're sending our F-16s to him?

Argus Hamilton Quips

Here are Hamilton's take on the news, including this item: "President Obama took the oath of office outside the U.S. Capitol Monday. He gave his Inaugural address before a half million people all bundled up. It was so cold in Washington D.C. that by the end of the Inaugural ceremony, everybody's face looked like Nancy Pelosi's."

How nice: "Palestinian Human Rights Foundation Calls Holocaust a 'Myth'". I prefer to think of the Palestinians as a myth.

Four More Radical Years

I had to laugh when I saw this about the inauguration, because it’s so true!  Author admits he had to read speech because he couldn't bear to watch live. Sound familiar?”

Rooting for the Ravens

What a great game  last night!  Joe Flacco has been vindicated, and I'll be rooting for him to win the Super Bowl. It's nice to finally have something to cheer about since Obama's re-election!

Celebrity Liars & The People Who Love Them

On “Mike and Mike” this morning, they were talking about the Manti Te’o hoax, and they said that although Te’o knew that the hoax had been exposed, he continued to talk about his “dead girlfriend” anyway. Tha’s like Benghazi. Even though people knew it was a terrorist attack, the Obama Administration stuck to their story of spontaneous protests.  It shows how the public can be easily fooled by glib liars.

And speaking of which, this Rick Reilly article on Lance Armstrong is very good. The fact that he chose Oprah Winfrey and her cult-like fans is telling. It wouldn't surprise me if Manti Te'o ends up on her show as well.

How To Lose Your Credibility Overnight

Lance Armstong's lies have now been temporarily eclipsed by another liar.  I heard about this ridiculous Manti Te'o hoax on “Mike & Mike in the Morning” today. It reminds me of the story “Bobbitt” in Thomas Tryon’s novella “Crowned Heads”. Bobbitt was a former child star whose whole life was a lie, including his invented wife and son, who he conveniently killed off before his hoodwinked friends could meet them.

Redistribution of Wealth

How nice! Our paychecks have been cut by $60 per month, but federal welfare spending is skyrocketing.  I guess  this is Obama's idea of "fair".

Crises of Obama's Own Making

I loved how Mark Levin put it:  "This guy makes Richard Nixon look like a man who followed the law all the time. I think we have an imperial president, he sounds imperial, he's arrogant as hell and I'm furious about this and I'm going to tell you why. We are a magnificent country. We don't need to be turned upside down. We don't need to run from crisis to crisis to crisis. He's bankrupting this country."  I'd like to know where the Republican leaders are who can fight back and counter everything he says. The silence is deafening.

Bookless Libraries?!

Ugh, what a horrible thought! According to this judge who is planning a bookless library,  "Paper books have lost their allure, and future generations may have little use for them."  That sounds like something from "The Twilight Zone", and he's definitely not describing this book lover!

The Economic "Recovery"

Doug Ross @ Journal posts the Obama Economic Recovery In One Chart : "Long Term Unemployment at Highest Level Since WWII".  I wonder how many of these people reelected Obama anyway.  Too bad he wasn't unemployed -- as our President!

Lance Armstrong, The All-American Liar

From the great Mike Lupica comes this article about Lance Armstrong and the damage his cheating and lying has done.  In this companion article, he is compared to Bernard Madoff.  His being on Oprah Winfrey's show will just make her sheep-like followers feel sorry for him.

Drive On, You Big Stupid Idiot!

"It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World", the funniest comedy of all time, was on TCM last night, and it's still good for a laugh after all these years. You can find some interesting trivia here.

The State of the Union

But I thought the economy was much better, and there was less unemployment!  So why would people behave like wild animals for Section 8 housing vouchers? It's like the stampedes at the stores the day after Thanksgiving! I agree with this comment: "The people (using the term loosely) with the energy and strength to hurl chairs and fight are more than capable of working to support themselves and do not deserve one penny of support from taxpayers."

Coming to a Pharmacy Near You

Here we go again. Why should everyone else suffer because a minority of people react badly to a drug? Most of the time it's because these people don't read the dosing instructions, have no common sense, or are trying to get a buzz. So let them find something else that works for them, and let us use what works for us!

That's bad enough, but this is even worse: "Yesterday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and city officials unveiled a new initiative to limit supplies of prescription painkillers in the city’s emergency rooms as a way to combat what they described as a growing addiction problem in the region."  So, because of addicts, people who genuinely need pain meds will have to go without.

Something is very wrong here.

The 3 Stooges of The Obama Administration

I came across this terrific Ramirez cartoon at The Political Commentator.  Of course, this is an insult to the real Three Stooges, who had more brains.

Sick Days

This is from an article on  why the media hasn't focused on the flu outbreak:: "It suggests that epidemics, like explosions and tsunamis, are of interest only if there is a body count to headline the story. Our all-news-all-the-time-except-real-news approach to information operates is if there were an extreme shortage of space, despite that we have hundreds of cable networks, endless radio stations, and, of course, the Internet, infinite in capacity, though with such a broad lunatic fringe encircling it that many have opted to remain within a very narrow boundary of a few dozen sites. Perhaps the lack of the crucial theatrical trinity of tragedy, death, and closure has made the current epidemic boring, giving the media the OK to duck their public-service responsibility of educating a vulnerable public."

A Real Shame

Sad but true: "In Obama's America, Only Debt and Dependency Grow."  And in Obama's America, he not only isn't blamed for it (it's still Bush's fault), but he gets away with it! In the olden days, people would be ashamed and embarrassed over the figures in this article; these days, there's no longer any stigma, and Obama encourages the entitlement mentality.

On a related note, Flopping Aces offers "More lists I think ought to be published", other than the names of legal gun owners. He suggests listing the names of welfare & food stamp recipients, women who have had abortions, and criminals. Now that's stigma for you!

Historic Photographs

Here are some great photos from National Geographic, celebrating its 125th anniversary.

Headline of the Day

Politics is bad for your health: "Congress less popular than colonoscopies, root canals, poll finds". Forget about Congress - I'd rather have a colonoscopy and an MRI than endure 4 more years of Obama!

Argus Hamilton Quips

Here's a good one from a recent column: "Al Gore sold Current TV to the pan-Arab network Al Jazeera for five hundred million dollars Friday. It fits. Every time George W. Bush invaded an Arab country Al Jazeera executives threw darts at his picture, so they won't have to make any changes to Al Gore's office at all."
(Cartoon by Gary Varvel)

Fighting Back

Encouraging news on the debt ceiling fight: "For those of you on the right who just know the Republicans are going to cave yet again when faced with the media firestorm and blame game over defaulting on our obligation, Senator Toomey, along with Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Rand Paul and many other voices from both Houses of Congress, seem to be galvanizing very quickly for the standoff that is coming." I hope this is truly the case. And I do like what I've heard so far from Rand Paul.

Steve McCann won't let himself be intimidated by Obama's transformation of America. Good for him!

Ben Stein

This is a very good column about Israel, Obama, and Chuck Hagel: "Poor Israel, poor beleaguered Israel, abandoned by so many people who call themselves Jewish, so alone, so terribly alone." Also, read his column about Nixon. It's not often you read flattering descriptions of Nixon!

The Media's Treatment of Obama

It's always a relief to see pundits expressing the same sentiments you do.  Fred Barnes has written a good article about Obama and the media titled The Four-Year Honeymoon:
"No president in my lifetime has been covered so favorably and so gingerly. Never has the press corps been so unwilling to pursue stories that might cast the president in an unflattering light. As a group, the media pride themselves on taking an adversarial approach to politicians and government officials. But in Obama’s case, the press acts like a helpmate...Compare Obama’s coverage with that of President George W. Bush. The difference is startling".

Photographs of black Jews from New York magazine.

A Good Question

In his column of comments on the news, Yid With Lid says: "During the eight years of George W. Bush's presidency unemployment was under 6%, much of it was below 5.5%. For all most of Barack Obama's presidency unemployment was over 8%.  Can someone please explain to me why it is Bush whose term is considered an economic disaster?"  The answer is, "Because Bush was a Republican despised by the media, and Obama is a Democrat protected by the media".

A Bad Reflection on America

The liberal UK Guardian had this photo on the main page of their website yesterday.
It was part of a series of pictures showing Obama in the White House in 2012, but I think this particular picture sums up his presidency. It sort of reminds me of this one.

Punished for Working

Less money in our paychecks, and more money going to pay for other people's Obamacare.  We're being robbed, and we didn't even vote for any of this!

From Flopping Aces, this is what America voted for: "Small businesses cutting hours, cutting employees or going out of business altogether. Taxes being raised on close to 80% of all households. Incredible amount of debt which will cause our credit rating to be downgraded which will increase are debt. Increased unemployment and increased dependence on government will come, rest assured. But of course this is what Obama wanted".  It wasn't what I wanted, it wasn't what I voted for, and I resent it greatly.

Dreading Obamacare

Here's an excellent column by Victor Davis Hanson about  how those of us who pay for health insurance are waiting with dread for the effects of Obamacare, which we didn't want & which are being forced down our throats. I know I'm feeling it already, in many ways.
"A sense of foreboding hangs over the currently insured. Almost everyone is unsure whether the new federal statutes will still cover currently covered procedures — or whether they will be rationed or curtailed altogether. Expect many people to schedule check-ups and major medical procedures in 2013 before Obamacare kicks in......There is a common denominator that underlies all this multifaceted uncertainty. Fairly or not, there is a sense that those who played by the rules and did well have instead done something wrong, or at least are under suspicion — and it is now time for their government to seek atonement from them. Worse still is the dread that the government’s new policies and taxes will not solve problems but may make them worse and prompt even more government engineering... Finally, those who budgeted and provided their own health insurance feel that the new restrictions and higher taxes on their coverage are the costs of subsidizing many who could have bought, but chose not to buy, their own health insurance."

Resolved: We Loathe Obama

What a riot! Glenn Beck's New Year's resolution that is no one can mention President Obama anymore on his show.  I laughed when I read the article and the comments from Free Republic readers, because my own resolution was that I will not talk about Obama at home any more. I already don't talk about politics at all in my liberal workplace, so this should be easy. But thanks to the Internet, I can continue to vent my ire about this man, otherwise I'd simply explode.

What Passes for Entertainment

Can TV stoop any lower?: "Petition calls on Oxygen not to air "All My Babies' Mamas". The reality special features rapper Shawty Lo and his 11 children by 10 different women."

"There Simply Must Be Jews"

Last night's documentary, Broadway Musicals: A Jewish Legacy, was one of the best shows I have seen on TV in quite some time.

Ugh!

The Heritage Foundation describes the fiscal cliff dealThis chart by Doug Ross @ Journal puts the deal in perspective. Now Obama is threatening that the debt ceiling is not negotiable. And at Protein Wisdom they are asking why we have a Republican Party at all.

Big Deal

Are they kidding?: "Senate fiscal proposal: $620B in tax hikes, $15B in spending cuts".  What would happen if all the demonized wealthy left the country, and all of us who work just stopped working and paying taxes?

Nice Deb speaks for many when she says, "No,  I won’t call him my President. I didn’t vote for him, and I oppose everything the he stands for. In twenty years, when people wonder what the hell happened to our freedoms, our quality of life – our dignity – I’ll be able to say, I had nothing to do with it – I fought it every step of the way."
