"No Longer Ashamed to be Anti-Semitic"
Who elects these people?! The Jewish Press describes this hatemonger: "Belgian Legislator Says Zionists Bankrolled the Holocaust. The difference between Hitler and Belgium legislator Laurent Louis is 80 years and a moustache." Antisemitism continues to be the only politically incorrect behavior that's excused and tolerated. Elie Wiesel says, "I thought that the
memory of the Holocaust would shame those boasting anti-Semitic
opinions. I was wrong. It still exists in different countries, and it
seems people are no longer ashamed to be anti-Semitic."

A Belgian legislator
who last year told the Parliament Israel is using Islamic support to
overthrow Assad now has taken the podium to charge, “The Holocaust was
set up and financed by the pioneers of Zionism.”

Rewarding Good Deed-Doers
I'm glad this story about Chick-fil-A and the Atlanta storm has gotten the attention from the NY Post and Lucianne.com that it deserves. Chick-fil-A fed stranded motorists at no cost, and places like CVS and Home Depot sheltered them overnight. All these Good Samaritans could make hay out of their generosity, but they're not doing so. So let's shop there and show our appreciation for their good deeds!

anyway”, and "'Upward mobility

I'll Send $10 To Help Defeat It!
How's this for gall? Via Doug Powers at Michelle Malkin: The Dems sent out a fundraising letter yesterday. In it, Michelle Obama asked for at least $10 to 'help protect Obamacare.' This is like raising money to protect icebergs from ships."
69 Years Ago: Liberation of Auschwitz
The Times of Israel: "To murder 6 million people, the Nazis showed us, you don’t even need fanatics. Buried
at Auschwitz is our certainty in a shared humanity. We now know that
any limits to human cruelty, if they exist at all, lie beyond the most
rabid viciousness ever conceived."
And yet, there's still this sort of thing: "Italian police also detained two men, ages 33 and 47, on suspicion of instigating racial hatred for antisemitic graffiti, including denial of the Holocaust, near the main judicial offices in Rome. Authorities say the men belong to different far-right groups. No arrests have been announced for the delivery of the pig heads."

Tango!
I had never heard this terrific tune until I heard it today on a classical radio station. It's "Libertango", by Astor Piazzola. (Somehow, I can't picture Robert Duvall dancing to this.)
Blame Israel!
From the Weekly Standard: "The Obama administration is worried that Israel is riling up American Jews, according to a report in the Israeli press. The allegations are
detailed in a story headlined, 'US perceives Israel as encouraging
anti-Obama backlash among Jews,' which appears in the Jerusalem Post." Don't blame Israel -- it's you who are riling us up!

Argus Hamilton Quips
Here is Mr. Hamilton's latest column, which includes such zingers as this one: "President Obama addressed a
secret meeting of NSA officials Friday about foreign and domestic
spying. He told them after talking it over with advisors, he's decided
to place limits on the NSA's telephone surveillance program. The NSA
officials said they already knew."
They Learned The Hard Way

A True Friend to Israel
I'm talking about Canada's Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. From the World Jewish Daily: "You could call him the anti-Obama. Canada's prime minister made a strong and unapologetic case for
support of Israel Monday, saying it was in Canada's moral and strategic
interests to support the Jewish state. No apologies, no backhanded compliments, no carrot and stick, just
unadulterated support. What a pleasant tone from a leader of a North
American country."
Seahawks Success!
Boy, what an exciting, roller-coaster ride of a game that was last night! I liked that whole 12th Man concept, and I thought Richard Sherman had every right to talk so exuberantly after the game. If he hadn't broken up that pass by Kaepernick, the outcome might have been very different. It's a shame he felt he had to explain himself in print. He's an athlete, not a politician, and he was expressing himself in the heat of the moment. His words shouldn't have to be scrutinized and analyzed. It's only a game, and it's called winning. It's interesting that this football player's words have gotten more attention than the President's words saying marijuana's less dangerous than liquor!

Poor Me!
Here we go again, self-pity time! Maybe he can use this line during the State of the Union address! “'There’s no doubt that there’s some folks who just really dislike me
because they don’t like the idea of a black President,' Obama told The
New Yorker’s David Remnick in the magazine’s Jan. 27 issue."
No, they don't like you for scandal after scandal, for the Obamacare nightmare, for the lack of jobs and dependence on government, for your socialist viewpoints, for the the destruction of our country and of our foreign policy, and for many other reasons including these, from Roger Kimball: "You can’t trust him. He has willfully and repeatedly lied to the American people about all manner of things touching their vital interests. It’s almost comical, or at least it would be if Obama’s behavior didn’t intrude so blatantly upon issues of individual liberty, economic dynamism, and national security. Think about it. One the one hand, Obama has spent the last five years governing as if he were a dictator. Any time he doesn’t like a law, he flouts it, 'waiving' it without authority for groups he likes (Obamacare, for example, is the law of the land, except if you are a member of Congress or belong to a favored union). His Justice Department is dedicated to an agenda of racialist activism. But, on the other hand, he never seems to be held to account."

Hockey news: Unbelievable. "Within

including game misconducts."

Despicable
Nothing surprises me about this administration, but when Obama attacks even members of his own party because some Democrats have principals in imposing further sanctions against Iran, you know it's very bad indeed. Read this column by David Harsanyi, who says, "Jay Carney kicked off the shameful rhetoric by warning that anyone who
disagrees with Obama’s Iranian position risks supporting a 'march to
war.'", and "Does concern for an ally mean you are a member of a fifth column? ...
It’s just remarkable how regularly liberals will breezily call you a traitor these days for disagreeing with them." (Cartoon by Ramirez)
Where's He Been All This Time?
Seeing this Byron York column on the Obama economy reminded me of the headline I saw yesterday stating that Obama has declared 2014 to be "a year of action" on jobs. Really? That's yet another lie. A year of inaction would be more like it. Remember the travesty of "shovel-ready jobs" that he laughed about? There's something very wrong when you see more people lined up for marijuana, Michael Jordan sneakers, cell phones, and freebies than for jobs.

Most Unforgivably Insulting Excuse of the Week
I give up! These people must think we're all morons.
"A Polish municipal prosecutor trying a case in which Polish League soccer fans shouted anti-Semitic chants, saying they'd send Jews to Auschwitz gas chambers, decided on Wednesday that the calls were not criminally racist.
The chants, which included such memorable lines as 'move on Jews,' 'your home is at Auschwitz,' and 'send you to the gas (chamber),' were made by Lech Poznan fans during a game last September against Widzew Lodz. Furthermore, the fans reportedly waved flags with Nazi symbols.
Widzew Lodz is considered to have ties with Jews, even from the days of the Holocaust, when a large number of Jews were involved with the team. Poland had the largest Jewish community in Europe before the Holocaust, when roughly 90% of the country's over 3 million Jews were murdered.
Nevertheless, prosecutor Monika Rutkowsk ruled the chants did not constitute a criminal offense, claiming that the slurs targeted opposing players and not Jews specifically, adding they came in a sports event rather than a social or political discussion, reports International Business Times..."
Yes, I always associate the swastika, and words such as "gas chamber" and "Jews", with blacks and Catholics. Doesn't everybody?

No Kidding!
"President Obama is 'chronically incapable' of military strategy and falls far short of his predecessor George W. Bush, according to one of
Britain’s most senior military advisors. Sir Hew Strachan, an
advisor to the Chief of the Defense Staff, told The Daily Beast that the
United States and Britain were guilty of total strategic failure in
Iraq and Afghanistan, and Obama’s attempts to intervene on behalf of the
Syrian rebels 'has left them in a far worse position than they were
before.'" He's also left the United States in a far worse position than we were before!

Publishing Terror
I'm really surprised there hasn't been more outrage over the news that the evil September 11 planner Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has been able to get his propaganda published -- while in prison at Gitmo. Do people actually believe he is now "nonviolent"? It seems to me there was more worldwide condemnation of the Duck Dynasty family than there has been for this man responsible for the murders of 3,000 innocent souls!
By the way, there was another man who wrote a manifesto while in prison. His name was Adolf Hitler.

War on Women, Pt.2
Well, we're seeing what the Democrats are going to run on in 2016: the phony issues of "income inequality" and "the war on women". What we need is a war again one woman, Hillary Clinton, or it's going to be like having four more years of Obama. Then we will be able to answer her question, "What difference does it make?" with the answer "None."
He, She, and It
Here's a column by Mona Charen that I agree with completely. It's called Our Crazed Sexuality Standards, and it's about the obsession with making unacceptable behavior acceptable. The media is doing its best to help foist it on us on an almost daily basis. She discusses "..two appalling trends. The first
is an obsession with sexuality as identity, and the second is a
devaluing of the best interests of children in favor of the
self-expression of adults." Never in my lifetime did I ever imagine hearing about things like this, and I'd rather not hear about it now.

I just love this kind of nostalgic article from Mental_Floss:11 Things We No Longer See in Offices. I've used everything on the list except the telecopier, the metal telephone flip index, and the adding machine. Seeing Ko-Rec-Type on the list brought back a lot of memories. State of the Union
Later this month, Obama has to give the State of the Union speech. Can you just imagine? What positive news can he possibly give after the destruction he caused in 2013? This should be an acting job for the ages, and I hope the Republicans sit on their hands during his performance. I will have the TV off, since I can't stand the sound of his voice, so I'll follow along with VodkaPundit as Obama talks up Obamacare; rails against the evil Republicans for trying to bring back smaller government and larger personal responsibility; and brings up his new distraction, "income inequality". I can't wait to miss it.

Ariel Sharon, R.I.P.
As Robert Stacy McCain puts it, he was "a tough Jew."
"Bush remembers friend Sharon as ‘man of courage’. Dov Weissglass, a top aide of Sharon’s, said after his death Saturday that the prime minister and president George W. Bush established a relationship of deep trust and open affection. The strength of that bond between the two leaders and their administrations, he said, helped ensure firm backing from the US for Sharon’s battle against Palestinian terrorism in the Second Intifada."
Of course, the Arabs feel differently, (may they hang), including this condolence from Lebanon: “With the passing of Sharon, there is now less evil in this world”.

Can someone kindly explain to me why this is somehow considered a good thing? "Jen Selter, Jewish Queen of Butt-Selfies." In previous years, her mother would have put her head in the oven out of shame.
Islamists on the March
While the media is in a feeding frenzy over Chris Christie, look what's going on in the Middle East, and tell me which of the two stories is more important. From the Chicago Tribune:
"Al-Qaida is on the march, reportedly seizing partial control of Fallujah and Ramadi in Iraq's Anbar Province with astonishing swiftness. Its aim: Carve out a haven for jihad in a vast stronghold along the border between Syria and Iraq.
Syria's civil war continues, drawing jihadists from across the Middle East in a conflict that has killed tens of thousands and sent millions of people fleeing their homes.
The fight is spreading to Lebanon, where suicide bombers in November killed nearly two dozen people in a blast outside the Iranian Embassy in Beirut. Last month, Mohammed Chatah, a prominent critic of Iran-backed Hezbollah and a former ambassador to the U.S., was killed in a powerful car bomb blast.
Egypt's Mubarak-like military leaders are cracking down on Islamists, inviting the same fate as the former dictator.
Afghanistan still battles a tenacious Taliban insurgency, even as most U.S troops are slated to exit by the end of the year...
Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, an arch of chaos."

News Obama Would Rather You Not Know
From Breitbart: A Washington Examiner evaluation of Walmart's employee healthcare plan rated it superior to and more affordable than Obamacare.
Item: "The former president of the Illinois State Association of Health Underwriters, Robert Slayton, said that in Chicago, Obamacare offers a restricted list of hospital participation. Walmart, on the other hand, belongs to a national healthcare network that provides almost twice as many participating hospitals. What's more, Walmart's network of doctors dwarfs Obamacare's. 'You will notice there are 9,837 doctors [under Obamacare]. But the larger network is 24,904 doctors. Huge, huge difference,' Slayton said."
Item: "In addition to better care, the Journal of the American Medical Association revealed that unsubsidized Obamacare enrollees will incur monthly premiums up to nine times higher than Walmart premiums."
Period!

Treating Israel as a Chump
Read, and get infuriated over, this Caroline Glick column concerning the deliberate weakening of Israel. Here's an excerpt:
"Kerry is the Palestinians' ace in the hole. He used the US's limitless leverage on Israel to coerce Israel into agreeing to pay for the privilege of speaking to Palestinian negotiators who reject our country's right to exist and extol as heroes the terrorist scum who murder us.
For the pleasure of their company, Kerry forced Israel to agree up-front to release scores of Palestinian terrorist murderers. And he did so in bad faith.
According to a high-ranking government official, Israel told Kerry it would release 82 murderers, none of whom are Israelis. And he agreed.
But then, during a joint appearance with Kerry, PLO chief Mahmoud Abbas announced that Israel had agreed to release 104 terrorists, including Israeli citizens. Rather than correct him, Kerry went along, and so locked Israel into a concession it had never made.
And now, with Kerry's support, Karaka said that if Israel refuses to release Israeli Arab murderers in the next round of releases, the PLO will abandon the talks. The EU has already announced that it will blame Israel for any PLO walkout.
It has been clear for some time that Israel is playing a sucker's game here.
The deck is stacked against us. Every step Israel takes to either buy time or lessen US pressure only leads to more pressure."
Who cares what the EU thinks! Why can't Israel fight back?

Be Quiet!
It's very difficult being a Republican in a Democratic environment, hard being Jewish in a goyische environment, and stressful being an introvert in a noisy, extroverted environment!
Who Can You Trust?
Not too many people, evidently, as demonstrated by this news: DA: 4 LIers led FDNY, NYPD Social Security disability fraud. "Those indicted yesterday on charges of obtaining fraudulent benefits
included 72 retired NYPD officers, eight retired New York City
firefighters, five retired city correction officers and one retired
Nassau police officer, Vance said. The retirees claimed they were
suffering from mental problems so severe they could not work, and often
claimed they could not bear to leave their homes or even operate their
home computers, he said. But Vance said records obtained by
investigators showed one man piloted a helicopter, another performed
mixed martial arts and another worked a cannoli stand at the San Gennaro
Festival in Manhattan. Others worked at construction, landscaping and
other jobs, he said, and one was a baker. Far from being homebound, bank records
show some of the recipients going on vacations and engaging in other
activities, and numerous Facebook pages and Twitter accounts showed they
used computers, he said." For shame! Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be such a thing as shame any more.

Bad for the Jews
They can call it a "quenelle" or "reverse Nazi salute" or whatever they want, but Joel Braunold is right: this is another sign of the "airbrushing of antisemitism". You have no doubt about what it is when you see photos of people making this gesture right in front of Anne Frank's photograph. It's either deliberate Jew-hatred, or else immature people blindly copying the latest fad, like the morons taking those awful selfies at Auschwitz. But if they keep having to defend it so loudly, you know it's not good for the Jews.

As Seen Online!
Here's the Friday afternoon roundup by Daniel Greenfield at Sultan Knish.
At American Digest you can find a nice post about "Rhapsody in Blue", including the music set to a video clip about New York City.
Candy Crowley actually asked this question of Gov. Scott Walker: “If I am an unemployed American…or if I am a minimum wage worker…why would I become a Republican?” He should have replied, "To better myself."
Rhode Island is looking for volunteer shovelers to help the elderly and disabled. How about paying young, healthy unemployed people to do this?
In Arab Spring news, "Al Qaeda Over Iraq.Terror group captures Fallujah after U.S. pullout." Gee, I thought Al Qaeda was on the run! That's one more thing Obama said that we simply must have "misunderstood". Also, "Bombs kill at least 19 people in Iraqi capital." Oh well!
Congratulations to the Chargers! I always get a kick out of Philip Rivers' enthusiasm.

"Just Plain Cruel!"
I heard this and had to go online to make sure I had heard it correctly: that extending unemployment benefits (again) helps the economy. Jobs help the economy, so why doesn't Obama create jobs rather than dependency? He would rather blame the Republicans for depriving people of their "lifeline". How many lifelines can you throw? As one of the commenters writes, "In his speech he said 'After five years of
working and sacrificing to recover and rebuild from crisis, we have it within
our power, right now, to move this country forward'. After 5 years of his
economic policies, we have the 'power' to 'move the country forward' by
extending 'unemployment benefits'? That pretty much says it all about this
President."
Oh, Just Shut Up Already!
Remember the days when people accepted defeat or bad news gracefully? And remember when people accepted responsibility for their own poor performance? Not any more! Today, just make excuses, be spiteful, and sue! Here's the latest example: "Former Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe has been out of the NFL since May of 2013. Recently he published an article with the help of Deadspin
saying he was released from the Vikings mostly for his views on
same-sex marriage and the fact that one of his coaches disagreed with
him on those views." Just go away. We just want sports, not lectures about "diversity". If you're more interested in political correctness, form your own gay football league. Besides, if he was such a great player, why hasn't any other team signed him?
Yiddish and Jewish News
What a great name for a moving company, as seen at New York Social Diary!
Check out the latest edition of Harold Ticktin's Yiddish Vinkl.
I always love to read reunion stories like this: "Holocaust Survivor Meets U.S. Soldier Who Liberated Her. Nearly 70 years later, Marsha Kreuzman, 90, tracked down Joe Barbella, 93."
Let's hope this terrible story ends well: "Hasidic Millionaire Menachem Stark Still Missing After Brooklyn Kidnap." Update: his body was found smoldering in a dumpster; the Forward is rightly criticizing the New York Post for its sensational front page.

Great Movie Theme Music
Isn't this glorious? And there's some other great movie music on the same page, such as the theme from "Lawrence of Arabia". Once you start clicking, you discover more and more wonderful music.
Food for Thought
I just discovered this cooking show on PBS, and I love it. It's "A Taste of History" with Chef Walter Staib, and it's sort of an "Antiques Roadshow" for food. He's a German who loves 18th century American history, and you end up learning so much about your own country. No wonder he's won four Emmy Awards!

Great War Centenary
There are some very solemn and touching things to see at this Belgian website regarding the 2014 anniversary of World War I.
Lots 'o Links
Extra, extra -- read all about it at Maggie's Farm, at Betsy's Page, and at Larwyn's Linx. Make sure you read about the latest Obama lie in "White House Insults Nation’s Intelligence by Pretending Obamacare Enrollment Goal Never Existed." Remember -- he never said 7 million! You obviously must have misunderstood, just like you misunderstood when he said you could keep your insurance plan and your doctor! Please consult a hearing specialist immediately.
Less is More
Gerald Nachman at American Spectator lists the people he'd rather not see in 2014. The list includes Alec Baldwin, Jennifer Anniston, Harry Reid, and Mitch McConnell. I can immediately think of people I'd rather not see: the Kardashians and the Obamas.

Banished Words
Lake Superior State University has released its 2014 list of banished words. Not surprisingly, the loathsome "selfie" got top honors. Unfortunately, whenever I hear or see that word, I think of Geraldo Rivera. Others on the list include the awful "twerk"; "hashtag"; and "fan base". As for "Obamacare", they should banish the law and not just the word!
Tough Talk on Terrorism
No, it's not from Barack Obama, it's from Vladimir Putin. This is how it's done: "'Dear friends, we bow our heads before the victims of cruel terrorist
acts. I am certain that we will fiercely and consistently continue the
fight against terrorists until their complete annihilation,” Putin said
in an unusual, second televised address close to midnight Tuesday, according to The Globe and Mail." No mincing of politically correct words here. It reminds me of how President G.W.Bush spoke after September 11 and said, "The United States of America will use all our
resources to conquer this enemy. We will rally the world. We will be patient.
We'll be focused, and we will be steadfast in our determination. This battle
will take time and resolve, but make no mistake about it, we will win."
