Stop Calling It "Distracted Driving"!

Stop downplaying the danger of reckless driving, which according to this article, has caused a jump in traffic fatalities.

Have you noticed the increase in the number of vans, huge pickups,  and SUVs? Have you seen them deliberately turning right in front of oncoming traffic, with hardly any room to spare? Notice how they speed through crowded parking lots where just getting in and out of your parking space is a real challenge. It’s not only that these people are sending text messages and playing games, but they also are using these giant vehicles in an extremely dangerous manner. Unfortunately, you rarely see police cars on the roads any more.  As one whose car has been smashed in by a reckless hit & run driver, I find the "distracted driving" terminology much too gentle for what's really going on every day.
