Bernie Corbyn

I've read a few articles comparing Bernie Sanders to Britain's Jeremy Corbyn, who thankfully was defeated last year. Let's hope Bernie ends up the same way Corbyn did!

An editorial in the New York Sun says "The catastrophe in Charleston was a reminder, if one were needed, that the Democratic front-runner is cut from the same cloth as the leader of the Labor Party in Britain, Jeremy Corbyn. He is another socialist from a Jewish background who for years spent his political capital apologizing for Israel’s enemies. It’s hard not to conclude that one reason Mr. Corbyn’s party met a historic defeat was the hostility to the cause of Zion".

Here is an excerpt from Dominic Green's excellent column at The Spectator USA: "Sanders, the man of principle, has lately contrived to remind us that he is Jewish, while pretending not to notice that, like the Labour party under Corbyn, his campaign is carrying anti-Semitism and other forms of conspiratorial delusion out of the sewer and into the political mainstream."

How anyone Jewish could possibly vote for someone like this is beyond me. And it's not only the anti-Israel stand but the blatant socialism. If the Democrat leadership has any decency left, they ought to take out the same sort of full-page ad that the Labor party took out last summer against Corbyn, above.

♪ If You're Going to San Francisco, Be Sure To Wear A Mask Over Your Face ♪

I found it hypocritical that San Francisco has declared a state of emergency over the Coronavirus but seemed unconcerned  last year over the outbreaks of typhoid, hepatitus, and typhus caused by the disgusting filth created by the homeless and drug addicts!

Antisemitism "Just Fun"? Just "Go to Hell!"

Isn't this amusing?
The following statement can be used both as a response to the carnival as well as a response to Bernie Sanders: "As Jabotinsky noted in 1911, “Instead of excessive apology and instead of turning our backs to the accusers — as there is nothing to apologize for, and nobody to apologize to — it is long overdue to respond to all current and future accusations, reproaches, suspicions, slanders, and denunciations by simply folding our arms and loudly, clearly, coldly, and calmly answer, ‘Go to Hell!’”

Supply Chain: We Can Do It!

I keep hearing about a shortage of surgical masks made in China due to the explosion of the Coronavirus. Well, why can't we manufacture them ourselves here at home?

Remember:  "The decision by the United States to join World War II required mass production of goods and increased services to support the war effort.  Within weeks the country was changing course and retooling existing factories to support the needs of the war."

If it could be done back then, it can certainly be done now. We'd manufacturer drugs here, masks, and other items without having to rely on China. Our goods would be better made, more readily available, and even more people who want to work could work.

Back then, the enemies were the Nazis and the Japanese. Today, the enemy is the Coronavirus. We can do it! What are we waiting for?

Treasure Trove

I've always liked reading about explorers and shipwrecks, so it was exciting to see some of the artifacts recovered from the HMS Erebus.

I Was Wondering How Long It Would Take...

In his column Coronavirus and the Virus of Hatred Against Jews, Michael Laitman writes, "It was just a matter of time until the coronavirus virus would be linked to anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. It is well known that when things go wrong, Jews are to blame, and this global threat is no exception.

Once again, the Jewish people are accused of deliberately causing the epidemic for self-gain as with other plagues throughout history, prompting online haters to call for their extermination.  'Finally! Science has discovered a cure for the most insidious disease of our time…Jewishness,' reads a recent post on social media.Blood Libels Spread As a Virus."

"The Shrieking Harridan Brigade"

I always like a clever turn of phrase, so I appreciated Stephen Kruiser's descriptively vivid "Shrieking Harridan Brigade" in today's Morning Briefing. He was discussing disgraced representative Katie Hill's attempts to blame others for the sordid scandal that ended in her resignation. She and the media have turned her into a victim. Maybe her next appearance should be on the Jerry Springer and Maury Povich sleaze shows.

If this isn't enough for you, you can end the week with Stephen Green's Florida Man Friday column.

Believe it or not, this year is the 40th anniversary of the Miracle on Ice, the defeat of the Soviet hockey team by the American team. Even people like me who didn't like hockey watched and celebrated the triumph of good vs. evil,  capitalism vs. communism. I can still hear Al Michaels's famous "Do you believe in miracles? Yes!" followed by the roar of the crowd.  There's a terrific piece about this historic victory in AARP's magazine.

Here's the latest edition of Harold Ticktin's Yiddish Vinkl, which discusses the word raykh, which means rich. Here's one of his examples:  "(Yiddish curse): 'Raykh zol er zayn un hobn tsvey oytos. Eyn oyto zol loyfn khapn far im a dokter, un der tsveyter zol loyfn moydie tsu zayn, az s’iz shoyn nokh alemen. / He should be rich and have two cars. One car should rush to get him a doctor, and the other should rush to say it’s too late.' (bit.ly/37a2D8W)". For some strange reason, I immediately thought of Bernie Sanders!

A Story I Can't Forget

I read this story two weeks ago and haven't been able to get it out of my mind: "Fate of 697 Jews from 'secret transport' finally resolved. In 1942, hundreds of Jews were sent on a secret transport from Hamburg and other cities to an unknown destination. Following extensive research, the sad answer was recently found."

One of the researchers happened to be the great-grandson of one of the 697.

Those filthy Nazis made sure that it would take over 75 years for their evil plans to be fully unraveled.

End your work week with the news and culture posts at Liz Sheld's Morning Greatness, Maggie's Farm, Larwyn's Linx, Stephen Kruiser's Morning Briefing.

"Former Democratic New York Assemblyman Dov Hikind encouraged people to 'speak out' against anti-Semitism on Thursday, just days after campus police removed him from an event at Rutgers University for asking guest speaker Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., about her past comments that he believes were anti-Semitic.".  Seeing that video make me ill. Tlaib should have been the one removed by the police!

From Issues & Insights: "The Democrats’ political future depends on keeping voters as far away from facts as possible. When not waging personal attacks, the Democrats have tried to convince voters that the economy is shambles, and that as the rich grow richer, the suffering of the poor increases." Evidently the idiots who believe this don't have minds of their own.

There's a lot to read at Liz Sheld's Morning Greatness; Stephen Green's Florida Man Friday; Larwyn's Linx; Stephen Kruiser's Morning Briefing; and Maggie's Farm.

Here's the latest ridiculous attempt by the politically correct to rewrite our history and our culture:
"Barnes & Noble has suspended its plan to release 'diverse editions' of classic novels for Black History Month after getting slammed on Twitter for 'literary blackface.'  The partnership between the company’s massive Fifth Avenue store and publisher Penguin Random House featured new jackets for a dozen classic novels — showing characters from books including 'Romeo and Juliet,' 'Moby Dick' and 'Peter Pan' as people of color."  Does this imply that you wouldn't ordinarily read these books unless the main character is your color? If so, that's pretty sad.

I guess we're lucky nobody has made PC versions of memoirs yet, otherwise they'd make Anne Frank black or Hispanic!

If You Liked The Green New Deal, You'll Love the New Way Forward!

I made the mistake of turning on the news last night and was immediately sorry I did, when I saw Tucker Carlson describing the Democrats' New Way Forward Act.

"The bill would allow people who've committed serious felonies in other countries to move to the United States legally, would make it nearly impossible for federal immigration officials to detain immigrants no matter how potentially dangerous they are," Carlson said on 'Tucker Carlson Tonight.' "And perhaps most infuriatingly and remarkably, it would require taxpayers to transport deported criminals back into the United States."

It's a new way forward, all right -- to further eroding the laws of this country. Obama used to talk about "fundamentally transforming" America, but today's Dems are taking it to the extreme.

Vote Republican in 2020!

SOTU Highlights, Lowlights, & Lowlife

Wow, what a speech! Despite the endless attacks and an impeachment, Donald Trump certainly demonstrated courage under fire and deserved the praise he got from even unlikely sources like CBS News and Van Jones.

Read Dov Fischer's column, Completely Tearing Up — Over the Best Week in the Entire Trump Presidency.

Scott McKay describes The Five Worst Moments of the Democrats’ SOTU, which are:
5. American greatness? Nah.
4. Sit your abortion!
3. The pro-poverty party.
2. Stone faces for school choice.
1. Pelosi couldn’t even give fake applause to a guy dying of lung cancer.

Seeing all the special guests was a great experience, although it was a shock to see Rush Limbaugh looking frail.

The Dems' negative response to such accomplishments as a 3.5% unemployment rate; more available jobs than there are workers; and millions of people off food stamps and welfare was hard to believe.  They seem to hate success and prefer dependency. If Trump had said we had a 10% unemployment rate and millions more on welfare, I think they'd be much happier.

Unless the Republicans do something incredibly stupid between now and November,  and unless the American voter becomes more ignorant between now and then, I think Trump will get the re-election he has earned.

Ioway or the Highway

To hear the guy from the Iowa Democratic Party trying to explain what happened last night, and to hear him use words like "integrity" and "transparency", was laughable. How can you trust the Democrats at all after the last 3 years of lies and smears?

Still, I'm glad this disaster happened to the Democrats rather than to the Republicans, and I don't think we should gloat or pronounce Trump the winner in November. These radicals with their far-left ideas and their media protection will get away with this somehow.

Meanwhile, Trump has to give the State of the Union address in front of the very same shameful liars and con artists who have impeached him. Talk about a hostile environment! You have to give Trump a lot of credit to face these people, and I hope he and his speechwriters create a memorable address that will put an end to this travesty.  He can say, "Let's come together top fight a common enemy like the Coronavirus and pass legislation in the best interest of our nation." If they refuse the appeal to common sense and decency, at least he will have made the offer.

Diversity-Mania Gone Wild

These obsessive, politically correct fools get on my nerves. It's amazing to me that they are not as concerned about eradicating a disease as they are about endlessly counting quotas.

What kind of people continually think like this?  "CNN blasted for condemning Trump's coronavirus task force for its 'lack of diversity'".
