I keep hearing about a shortage of surgical masks made in China due to the explosion of the Coronavirus. Well, why can't we manufacture them ourselves here at home?
Remember: "The decision by the United States to join World War II required mass production of goods and increased services to support the war effort. Within weeks the country was changing course and retooling existing factories to support the needs of the war."
If it could be done back then, it can certainly be done now. We'd manufacturer drugs here, masks, and other items without having to rely on China. Our goods would be better made, more readily available, and even more people who want to work could work.
Back then, the enemies were the Nazis and the Japanese. Today, the enemy is the Coronavirus. We can do it! What are we waiting for?
