Golf Cheerleaders
This columnist says that "Tiger Woods restores order to crazy world". When I read these things and listen to the overwrought NBC golf coverage, it's very reminiscent of how the mainstream media talks about Obama. So for this reason, I've been referring to Tiger Woods as "The Golfing Messiah".
Fuming Over Taxes
I agree with Neal Boortz about raising the tax on cigarettes. They should also raise the tax on liquor, and charge double or triple for those unnecessary vanity license plates. Also, why keep spending millions on anti-smoking ads? If you don't know by now that smoking causes cancer, there's something wrong with you.

Ben-Hur
"Ben-Hur" is on TCM tonight at 8, and even if it weren't already such a spectacular movie, it's be worth watching again just for the glorious music by the great Miklos Rosza.
Turn On and Tune Out
I heard that the global warming crowd wants everyone to turn the lights off for an hour tonight. That only makes me want to turn on every light and appliance instead!
Habitat For Lowlives
How's this for gratitude?
"OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. -- Only Eyewitness News was on the scene when as Kissimmee police moved in to make a drug bust at a home built by Habitat for Humanity. One of the women arrested at the home is an employee of the Osceola County school district. Police say that is just one of the several disturbing parts of this story. Eyewitness News also learned that a baby was living inside the home that police raided. Investigators said they found several bags of marijuana stuffed into a can of baby formula. Police collected crack-cocaine, marijuana, and $3,000 cash."I have never understood anyway why volunteers should build homes for people while those people do nothing to help themselves.

Welfare for Terrorists
(Or should I call them "human man-caused disasters"?) What a double outrage this is! These days when I see or read the news, I feel as if I must be suddenly living in an alternate universe. Is everyone crazy?
Holocaust Story
This is a bittersweet story:
"VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Barry Friedman heard about the postcard in January, just a few weeks before his mother died. His grandfather had written it in January 1944, when he and his wife were on a train headed to the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp. He was worried about his children -- 14-year-old Anne, who became Barry Friedman's mother, and her younger sister. When he finished writing, Izak Altenhaus tossed the note out of the train window, hoping someone would find it and deliver it. Izak and Pepi Altenhaus arrived at Auschwitz, where they and 417 others on the train were fatally gassed by the Nazis. But someone found his note along the tracks, put it in an envelope and addressed it. Anne Altenhaus got it, packed it away, and immigrated with her sister to America in 1946."
Mainstream Antisemitism
Commentary's Abe Greenwald talks about Pat Oliphant's vile "cartoon":
"To call the Washington Post’s decision to run unadulterated Nazi-inspired anti-Semitism a crisis of judgment is to relegate the incident to a headline-grabbing class of occasional sensitivity lapses. To speak of apologies, hurt feelings, and free speech is to invite 'debate' where there is no moral ambiguity. To contextualize by adducing Oliphant’s previous forays into sensation is to miss the point entirely. The cartoon can only be understood as heralding a new popular acceptance of Jew-hatred: the capstone of all that talk about anti-Semitism being 'on the rise around the world.'"Also, read Roger Simon on this same despicable "comic".

Sympathy for a Cop-Killer
Gateway Pundit highlights this outrageous example of murderers being treated more sympathetically than their victims. Michael Savage has been apoplectic on this subject this week, with good reason. Read at your own risk.
Money For Nothing
Now this is something that makes sense!
"CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Want government assistance? Just say no to drugs. Lawmakers in at least eight states want recipients of food stamps, unemployment benefits or welfare to submit to random drug testing."Good! You shouldn't get something for nothing, and it's about time that people the rest of us are forced to support are finally held accountable.

On Thin Ice
I like to watch figure skating on TV, and if you do, too, you'll get a kick out of this!
Antisemitic Semites
The Edmonton Sun's Mindelle Jacobs talks about extremists who hate Israel. It's not who you think.
"Every religion has its dangerous extremists. The crackpots of Judaism are the fringe rabbis who believe God wants the Jews to be stateless. Three of these lunatics were in Edmonton over the weekend to explain at a 'Zionism Exposed' conference how the Jews don't deserve a country because they've sinned and that Israelis should submit to being ruled by the Palestinians.'Jews who don't like it should just leave Israel, according to Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss. 'Whatever is (the Palestinians') will, we, as Jews, are required to accept that,' he explained. Zionism, the movement to re-establish the Jews in their ancient homeland, is an evil 'cancer' run by a bunch of 'rogue thieves' that's antithetical to Judaism, Weiss told a couple of hundred Muslims at the Edmonton Islamic Academy on Sunday."Isn't this repulsive?

Politically Correct Terrorism
When is a terrorist attack not a terrorist attack? When it's a "man-caused disaster"!
The writer of this letter to the editor says:
The writer of this letter to the editor says:
"I guess the blowing up of the Twin Towers and thousands or men, women and children in them was only a 'man-made disaster' like a bus crash or an oil spill. I guess we would be using chauvinistic, political fear-mongering if we referred to the bombings of the crowded London subways, the streets of Madrid, a Hotel in India, the Marine compound in Beirut or the murdering of disabled people aboard the cruise ship Achille Laurel as acts of terrorism. Heavens we don't want to hurt any feelings."

Working on The Railroad
This is incredible!
"The Miniatur Wunderland model railroad in Hamburg, Germany is the largest in the world, covering 16,146 square feet of space with more than 10,000 train cars running around its 6.8 miles of HO scale track. Now, the makers of this huge layout have created a video that gives you a jaw-dropping look at the vast scope of this intricate work of art."(Via Free Republic)

Dishonor Awards
The Media Research Council presented its Dishonor Awards last night, and the Quote of the Year Award went to Bill Maher:
"It was a close call between two of the quotes, and so the judges asked for a run-off between Chris Matthews' 'thrill going up my leg' and Bill Maher's looney conspiracy theorizing about how Sarah Palin's baby was really born to daughter Bristol. Joe Wurzelbacher then stepped forward to announce Bill Maher as the winner."

Argus Hamilton Quips
Here are two quips from Argus Hamilton:
"The Boston Tea Party Society called upon Americans to send teabags to Congress Saturday to protest huge spending and higher taxes. Be sure and send decaffeinated tea bags."
"Every time Congress stays up past midnight they vote themselves a pay raise. The White House declared Friday that captured al-Qaeda fighters will no longer be referred to as enemy combatants. Two weeks ago the administration eliminated the term War on Terror and ordered the shutdown of Guantanamo. Osama bin Laden released an audiotape on Saturday ordering all his followers to enjoy a Happy St. Patrick's Day."
Farshtaist?
I enjoyed this article: "Gantseh megilla on mamaloshn in vernacular. ‘Word mavens’ kibitz on about Jewish vocabulary".
Hari-Kari Politics
I agree with Michelle Malkin, who refers to this as AIG Derangement Syndrome:
"Okay. We get it. Every politician in Washington wants to show They Care by bashing AIG. Which almost all of them agreed to bail out. Repeatedly. But never mind all that. This, however, is just too much: Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley suggested on Monday that AIG executives should take a Japanese approach toward accepting responsibility for the collapse of the insurance giant by resigning or killing themselves."

Famous Faces
This scene reminds me of the cover of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album -- on a much larger scale! Make sure you click here to see the entire painting at once.
Going on The Offensive
Here's the latest in idiotic political correctness:
"The European Parliament has banned the terms 'Miss' and 'Mrs' in case they offend female MEPs."

Mad About Madoff
Here is Andrea Peyser's headline on Bernie Madoff. I wish she'd tell is how she REALLY feels!
"Pathetic, pathological pig has learned absolutely nothing."
Illegal Stimulation
Michael Savage was right when he said that the world is upside down. Why would the Justice Department go after a man like Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who is busy doing his job catching illegal aliens; while doing nothing to stop the tide of dangerous illegal immigration itself?? Meanwhile, the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler has a Border Stimulation plan that would deal with Mexican drug thugs and illegals.

Mindbogglingly Infuriating!
Every taxpayer ought to be outraged at this. Michelle Malkin says:
"I’ve reported to you over the past month on Sen. Jeff Sessions’s battle to ensure that stimulus money didn’t go to illegal aliens. He fought the good fight and lost. Now, it dawns on USA Today that — you don’t say! — the stimulus money might find hundreds of thousands of illegal alien jobs. Way to keep the American people informed in a timely and relevant manner!"
"Blind Allegiance"
This is nauseating news regarding the Obama Administration and Israel:
"...the obeisance to the Arab world at the expense of Israel makes it clear that there is a verdict in the offing here. One thing is clear: American Jews who supported and voted for change should open their eyes to this reality and rethink their blind allegiance to this administration in terms of its policy towards Israel. Congress, which has always been a bulwark of support for Israel in this country can take the lead in this initiative, and Americans would do well to be supportive of its efforts."
Callous Kids
Here's some grim news:
"Some schoolchildren think the Nazi death camp Auschwitz was a brand of beer, a religious festival or a kind of bread. Research released today shows that a shocking number of pupils aged between 11 and 16 have a poor understanding of the Holocaust."That's bad enough, but what excuse do adults have?

Facebook Foes
Atlas Shrugs reports on an infestation of antisemites on Facebook:
"Protest Launched Against Facebook for being Pro-Jihad, Anti-Israel. The David Horowitz Freedom Center is calling upon all supporters of freedom of speech and of Israel to join in its protest against Facebook, the Internet social networking site. Facebook has allowed a group of hackers who openly support the terrorist group Hizballah to take over and destroy what was once the largest pro-Israel site on Facebook. In a blunt act of internet censorship, Facebook added insult to injury by disabling the account of that site’s creator, 14-year-old Todd Snider."
Haveil Havalim Time
Per Jack, you can now read Haveil Havalim 207: A very TRS HH, hosted very nicely by The Real Shiliach. [I'm afraid I had to look up "shiliach" and found that "Chabad shliach (Hebrew: שליח, pl. שליחים/שלוחים, shlichim/shluchim) is a Chabad member sent out to promulgate Judaism and Chasidut around the world."]

Sing a Song of Protest
Check out this perfect Tea Party anthem from Kathleen Stewart titled "It Ain't Your Money To Spend"! It's a catchy tune that includes these lyrics:
"It ain't your money to spend.(via Free Republic)
You're acting like a bunch of jerks.
I'm the one who earned it.
I'm the one who works.
Your income redistribution
Doesn't jibe with the Constitution.
So I got a little message to send:
It ain't your money to spend."
Collection-Crazy
My sister told me about The Astounding Problem of Andrew Novick, which
"features the overwhelming and unusual collections of an eccentric individual who does not consider himself an artist. In total, Andrew Novick estimates he has over a hundred collections: Barbie dolls of every variety, Chihuahua figurines, clown paintings, anything related to teeth or braces. The truth is he has far more things than will or can ever be organized into a 'collection.' Inside his home and in his rented storage space he has stacks, piles and boxes of answering machine cassette tapes full of incoming phone messages, more answering machine cassette tapes with recordings of recording almost every conversation he has ever had with a telemarketer, jars ripe with formaldehyde-free dead animals, uncommon foods and more."

Taxed Out
I love this amusing "letter from a suffering citizen" and would love to mail this out myself!
Dear IRS,
I am sorry to inform you that I will not be able to pay taxes owed April 15, but all is not lost.
I have paid the following taxes: accounts receivable tax, building permit tax, CDL tax, corporate income tax, dog license tax, federal income tax, unemployment tax, gasoline tax, hunting license tax, fishing license tax, waterfowl stamp tax, inheritance tax, inventory tax, liquor tax, luxury tax, Medicare tax, city, school and county property tax (up 33 percent last 4 years), real estate tax, social security tax, road usage tax, toll road tax, state and city sales tax, recreational vehicle tax, state franchise tax, state unemployment tax, telephone federal excise tax, telephone federal state and local surcharge tax, telephone minimum usage surcharge tax, telephone state and local tax, utility tax, vehicle license registration tax, capitol gains tax, lease severance tax, oil and gas assessment tax, Colorado property tax, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma and New Mexico sales tax, and many more that I can't recall, but I have run out of space and money.
When you do not receive my check April 15, just know that it is an honest mistake. Please treat me the same way you treated Congressmen Charles Rangel, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and ex-Congressman Tom Daschle and, of course, your boss Timothy Geithner ( ... no penalties and no interest ).
P.S. I will try to make at least a partial payment as soon as I get my stimulus check.

"Screeching Betty Buckley"
If you love scathing criticisms, you will enjoy Rex Reed's review of singer Betty Buckley. I read it during lunch at work and laughed out loud. The title tells you all you want to know: "Screeching Betty Buckley Bombs in Feinstein Fiasco." I particularly enjoyed this part:
"Whether she's shrieking her way through a Burt Bacharach ballad or breaking glasses on a Stephen Schwartz song from Pippin, she claims there's a little child inside who does all of her singing for her. That child must be a screaming schizophrenic. On opening night, a woman collapsed in the middle of her blistering histrionics, knocking over a table, and while the stunned audience waited for her to be picked off the floor and carried out, Ms. Buckley continued full-speed ahead like a runaway diesel truck on the Long Island Expressway, completely unfazed."

Self-Absorbed Multitasking Moron of the Day
I know this is a stupid question, but why couldn't this dangerous fool have talked on the phone and breastfed her baby BEFORE getting in the car? Oh, sorry -- that would take common sense. "Mother Was Breast-Feeding, Talking On Cell While Driving."
Pepto Bismol Alert
Jessica's Well has a warning: "Be Prepared to Hurl" over
this leg-tingling description of Pres. Obama:
this leg-tingling description of Pres. Obama:
"The good news is, the Obamafied bliss is still out there, still swirling, still waiting to be supped like a fine digestif. At any given moment you can, if you so choose, pause in whatever it is you're suffering from and hear that voice and see his visage or perhaps merely hear some pundit say the words 'President Obama' out loud, and you can still enjoy that delicious chill, that little jolt that says, 'Oh my God, did we really do it? Is that lucid, impeccably centered man really the leader of the free world?' You can even take it a tiny step further. You can, as I recently did, glance up at the screen during Obama's congressional address and see not only a young, composed, African American president speaking to the populace in more thoughtful, articulate language than we've heard in a decade, but also note that he happens to be surrounded by a female Speaker of the House and a female Secretary of State and a smart, funny VP who, refreshingly, is not a sneering warmongering torture fanatic who enjoys sucking the blood from live baby sharks."
