When you see a headline like this, you have a sick feeling that once again, the Republicans are going to ruin their chance at winning the White House: Spray tans, pants-wetting and little hands: The GOP race goes in the gutter.

Whatever happened to decorum in life and in politics? This is like the Kardashian/reality TV version of presidential politics, and it's extremely embarrassing. Can you imagine Howard Baker acting like this?

A Priceless Memory

Here's a nice story, as seen at The Times of Israel:  "How a Dutch thrift store returned the wedding book of Holocaust victims. Within hours of posting that they’d found heirloom, thousands pitch in to help store’s staff ensure it finally reaches groom’s niece."

You look at that photo knowing that these newlyweds were murdered only 4 months later.

Close the Backdoor

Read Daniel Greenfield's latest column, Immigration or an iPhone. He says what's plain and right in front of us, except that the politically correct liberals and the pandering, kowtowing Democrats choose not to see. He says, "We do not have an American terror network problem. The Amish aren't using iPhones or obscure apps to coordinate terror attacks. We have a Muslim terror network problem. It's not because of the Methodists that we have to weigh our mouthwash or take our shoes off and put them in a greasy plastic tray at the airport. It's because 19 Muslims entered this country, hijacked our airplanes and murdered thousands of Americans. Guantanamo Bay is not an issue because Buddhists are at war with America. It's an issue because Muslim terrorists are at war with America...The only backdoor that should be at issue here is the one that Muslim terrorists use to enter America. We don't need to violate everyone's rights to close it. We just need the political will to do the common sense thing and shut down the source of the threat. Either that or give up on our privacy."

How many more times do we have to say this, and how many more people will be murdered by Muslims before something is done about it?

Just read this article: ‘Jew haters’ spread fear at CUNY colleges.'  In response to the antisemitic thuggery, ZOA President Morton Klein said,  “Such bigotry would never be tolerated by CUNY if it were being directed against another ethnic, racial or other targeted group.” Exactly! But nobody seems to care unless the victims are black or Muslims.

Meanwhile, "Three black female students who gained national attention after claiming to be victims of a hate crime attack are accused of making the entire story up and have been charged with assaulting a white bus passenger."

See the difference?

Bernie Sanders' frequent TV commercials mention "institutional racism".  Well, I see institutional Jew-hatred, and nobody cares about that!

Rubio + Israel

I liked this op-ed from The Algemeiner, Why I, an American-Israeli, Support Marco Rubio for President.  Writer Douglas Altabef discusses the candidates in regards to Israel, and he concludes, "His personal story, background, youth and understanding of issues have impressed a broad spectrum of the electorate. He consistently polls as being the most electable of the Republicans.
Rubio can and would defeat Clinton in an election. The numbers showing up for voting in Republican versus Democratic primaries clearly contrast the excitement and desire level in 2016. The advantage is all to the GOP. Plus, if Rubio were to run with Kasich, a popular governor of Ohio, he would have strength in the two most important states in recent elections — Florida and Ohio — as well as a strong appeal to independents and moderate Democrats.
Also, at the end of the day, Americans want to vote for their hopes and not just their fears. Rubio offers hope; Clinton offers a déjà vu and reality that it’s all about her and the Clintons, and their situational ethics and cronyism.
So with that combination of being a true friend of ours, and a man who could very well wrest the presidency away from Democrats increasingly hostile to Israel, Marco Rubio is, for this American Israeli, the clear choice for president in 2016."

He Can't Gitmo Satisfaction

Today Obama again spoke about closing Guantanamo Bay!  Here's Senator Cornyn's common sense response: "'Bringing these detainees to the U.S. would not only violate current law, it would defy the will of Congress and the American people who do not want dangerous, radical terrorists in their backyards.'"

I have a bad feeling that Obama will simply dump these terrorists into U.S. prisons and not tell anywhere where they are, just like he did with the illegal alien children in 2014. Boy, he really knows how to protect the American people, doesn't he?

Victimized Again

It was infuriating to read the following in a report of the trial of Auschwitz SS guard Reinhold Hanning:  "He showed no reaction as the first witness, Leon Schwarzbaum, a 94-year-old Auschwitz survivor, read moving testimony about his own experiences, then looked directly at Hanning and made an emotional plea. 'Mr. Hanning, we are about the same age and we will both soon be before the highest court,' Schwarzbaum said, his voice quavering and hands trembling. 'Speak here about what you and your comrades did!'"  

They may be the same age, but Mr. Schwarzbaum is twice the man this sadist is.

Cal Thomas has a column critical of Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders: "Clinton and Sanders would never qualify for membership in the Optimist club. Theirs is a steady stream of gloom, doom and pessimism. America's best days are behind us and they weren't so good after all. Slavery, racism and denial of women's rights ... the list goes on...'The sun will come out tomorrow,' sings an optimistic Annie in the Broadway musical. For Hillary and Bernie, it's a 'hard knock life' and it's always Midnight in America."

The Color of Money

Must everything be seen through the prism of race and gender? I'm really tired of divisive things like this: "NEW YORK -- Federal Reserve leadership is overly male, almost entirely white and drawn too frequently from the banking community, according to a group critical of the central bank."

Excuse me, but money doesn't have a gender, and the only color that's important is green.

Here's some unexpected news: "Supreme Court blocks Obama carbon emissions plan." Good! Years ago he threatened skyrocketing electric bills, and we've definitely seen them.

American Priorities

Here we go again:  "Google Fiber and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) have partnered to bring 'ultra-high speed' 1 gigabit Internet to public housing units in many cities – a connection speed much faster than the average household in the United States.  West Bluff Townhomes in Kansas City, Mo., has become the first public housing development with a 1 gigabit or 1,000 mbps Internet connection through the ConnectHome Initiative. Google Fiber said the speed has been provided free of charge and at no cost to HUD."  If you recall, back in 2010, free internet service was actually referred to as a "basic right" and a "civil right."

Sounds like the computer version of the Obamaphone!  I've always thought that if you get anything for free, you should be required to do something in return to earn it: work a certain amount of hours, or volunteer.  Also, usage should be restricted. With free phones, you should have only a certain amount of minutes; or the ability to dial only 9-1-1. With free Internet, limited (not unlimited) access, and only certain websites would be available, such as job websites.

Here's an excellent Random Thought from Dr. Thomas Sowell: "In trying to come up with alternatives to the welfare state, even some staunch conservatives have created plans that exempt low-income people from paying taxes, or plans that provide some basic income to all, making it unnecessary to work. In his latest column, Argus Hamilton writes, "The Hollywood Reporter says that British white actor Joseph Fiennes will play Michael Jackson in a movie. He plays the older Jackson. In his remarkable life, Michael Jackson went from being a black superstar who could appeal to white audiences to a white superstar who appealed to black audiences."

Seeing Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders tied in Iowa makes you wonder if there's any difference between Democrats and Socialists today.

Next year at this time, we will have a new president (Rubio, I hope), and we had better pray it's not Clinton or Sanders!  If it is one of them, will they be blaming everything on "my predecessor" the way Obama has done with GW Bush?
