As a helmeted correspondent was reporting in the midst of the Paris riots today, two men broke off from the throngs and ran up to the camera holding up t-shirts that read "F*CK ISRAEL" and "FREE GAZA". A group of black-clad Muslims was carrying a huge "Palestinian" flag. So you should have no doubt about the reason for these riots, and it's not about students and schools.
Darkness is falling there, so I expect a repeat of the other night. These are not mere "calm" "protests", as the headlines keep insisting, otherwise the Louvre wouldn't have been shut down today.
