I remember Chubby Checkers, the Twist, JFK, when the Beatles first visited the US, seeing the Dave Clark 5 in person, Bye Bye Birdie, seeing It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World in the movie theater, 1 cent stamps, green stamps, Horn and Hardart, Chock Full O' Nuts, Bonanza, Ed Sullivan, going for long walks unaccompanied by an adult at age 6, penny candy, learning to read with phonics, the "new" math, manual typewriters, carbon paper, dial telephones, phone numbers that began with letters, black and white TV, TV without remote control, the Million Dollar Movie, Sunrise Semester, waiting for TV to "begin for the day" when I was a tyke and would wake up at the crack of dawn, Captain Kangaroo, Ding Dong School, the first day girls were allowed to wear pants to school instead of a dress..."
