One of my favorite columnists, Greg Crosby, has a piece up regarding society's lack of shame in general, and the shrugging-off of cheating in baseball in particular. It seems that even with his 50-game suspension, Manny Ramirez may be voted into the All Star Game anyway, thanks to the moronic fans.
(They also keep talking about hitters from the steroid era being elected to the Hall of Fame. If so, they should be in their own separate wing, and in the record books with asterisks, to differentiate these cheaters from the pure athletes of the past who played with skill alone. It's an insult to, say, Joe DiMaggio and Bob Gibson to be lumped in with Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens.)
