I am always extremely angry when I hear the word "holocaust" bandied about so casually or used to compare something else to the Jewish Holocaust. I still haven't forgotten how the morons at PETA dared to compare the killing of chickens for food to victims of the Holocuast. It's not just a word -- when you think of "Holocaust" you usually think of the 6 million murdered Jews, as it should be.
Neal Boortz comments on Alan Grayson's cavalier attitude in using the word to describe the American health care system. And Politico asks, "When is it OK to use 'holocaust'?" I say "never". There are certain other words that also usually only mean one thing, such as "segregation", or "crucifixion". Let's not lessen the true and important meaning.
