"Basically a Good Mom"!

I knew they'd be making excuses for this Susan Smith-like piece of garbage, but what the idiot sheriff said takes the cake: "The mom has been basically a good mom," the sheriff said. "For whatever reason, this was her weakest moment." If this is "a good mom", I'd hate to know what his definition of a bad mom is.
