Pandering

Why does the President insist on pandering to Mexico and to illegal aliens? I can't understand what kind of hold they have over him. "Mexican President Felipe Calderon chastised President Bush today for doing too little to stem the causes of illegal immigration and for failing to curb the U.S. appetite for illegal drugs." He had the nerve to chastise the President? Bush ought to be the one doing the chastising rather than meekly accepting the criticism! Or is it now considered politically incorrect to fight back?
