This Headline Is Hazardous To Your Health
Read this, from CNN -- yes, CNN! "White House officials have pressured insurance industry executives to
keep quiet amid mounting criticism over Obamacare's rollout, insurance
industry sources told CNN. After insurance officials
publicly criticized the implementation, White House staffers contacted
insurers to express their displeasure, industry insiders said. Multiple sources declined to speak publicly about the push back because they fear retribution." Read the comments at Lucianne.com and, as always, imagine the reaction to headlines like this if this were Bush or Nixon rather than Obama. And to think we have 3 more years of this.
Move Over, Jackie Evancho!
Listen to this kid sing opera! It's hard to reconcile that voice coming out of this child's mouth.
Removing the Blinders
Of course, critical articles such as these should have been written five years ago, but at least they are being written at all.
Read Peter Wehner at Commentary: "We have as president a man who routinely slanders his political opponents, distorting what they believe, even as he bemoans the lack of civility in public discourse. He constantly makes assertions that are obviously untrue. And it doesn’t matter to him. He keeps doing it because, at least until now, the media has given him something approaching a free pass...Mr. Obama, then, has a deeply defective public character. He simply makes things up as he goes along. He invents his own reality. And the fact that he is inflicting significant and durable harm to our political culture, and to America itself, seems to bother him not one bit. There is something quite disturbing about this president’s capacity to mislead people with such ease and with such relish. He’s not a man who can be trusted with power."
And there is something quite disturbing as well about Americans willing to be misled to this extent!
Here's Jeffrey T. Brown at American Thinker: "So, can we finally stop pretending that the left has a positive plan for the United States? Can we stop pretending that the president meant to do anything other than destroy a system he has hated since his socialist-influenced youth? Can we dispense with the unhinged rants about dog whistles and face up to the fact that conservatives have been right about this all along? Can we finally openly discuss that the left's own hatred and bigotry are largely to blame for where we are now, not just regarding ObamaCare? They have protected, helped and worshiped an illusion, with pure malice toward those who have loved and fought for this country, and are entirely complicit in the damage now being done to every fiber of our nation. They have intentionally derailed reasoned opposition to purposefully detrimental policies, and have exploited hatred and bigotry to do it. Their own hatred, now so clearly shown to be unfounded, doesn't just inform the left with regard to health care, or opposition thereto. It informs everything the left does, every position they take, every feeling they have. It is their malignant security blanket.

What Didn't He Know, and When Didn't He Know It?
It sounds like people are finally catching on: "Obama accused of misleading voters on Benghazi, Obamacare, Merkel. There's a pattern here." There sure is. You lie and claim you don't know a thing about Fast & Furious, the NSA spying, Benghazi; the media aids and abets your lies; and then people finally wake up when their insurance is cancelled. I'd love to see a Woodward and Bernstein-type expose of this fraud in the Washington Post or New York Times.
Dennis Prager writes quite an indictment: "I have been broadcasting for 31 years and writing for longer than that. I do not recall ever saying on radio or in print that a president is doing lasting damage to our country. I did not like the presidencies of Jimmy Carter (the last Democrat I voted for) or Bill Clinton. Nor did I care for the 'compassionate conservatism' of George W. Bush. In modern political parlance 'compassionate' is a euphemism for ever-expanding government. But I have never written or broadcast that our country was being seriously damaged by a president. So it is with great sadness that I write that President Barack Obama has done and continues to do major damage to America. The only question is whether this can ever be undone."

The REAL Obamacare Scandal
We shouldn't HAVE to accept being kicked off our health care plans. This Florida woman who is going from paying $54 a month to $591, asks,"What I have right now is what I'm happy with, and I just want to
know why I can't keep what I have. Why do I have to be
forced into something else?" Does the Obama Administration just expect everyone who pays for health insurance to just meekly accept these cancellation notices? I don't understand the sheeplike "Oh well" attitude, unless that's what the media is deliberately encouraging, We shouldn't be forced into something else. This, not the website trouble, is the real outrage. We've worked hard to earn our health insurance, and we need lawyers and advocates willing to fight with us on our behalf!

Obamacare:Another Theory
She may have played a dumb blonde on TV, but after reading this article, I have come to the conclusion that Morgan Brittany is smarter than I thought. In her column titled "Was the Obamacare Implosion the Real Goal All Along?". she suggests that the goal is a single payer system:
"The realization will hit those who work and run businesses that they will be on the hook to pay for those who don’t.They will be paying through the nose for people in poverty or poor health. No subsidies for the working man or small business, but plenty for the poor, members of Congress, their staff, the President, and 2000 plus companies who got waivers from Obamacare. The individuals who sign up can’t possibly pay for it so there will have to be more taxes on those who work. Here is your massive redistribution of wealth.
The CBO says that there will need to be one trillion dollars more in new taxes over the next ten years. The Medicare payroll tax has gone up 2.9% to 3.8% for wages and profits over $200K.Premiums will skyrocket for individuals, and if you own a company with 50 workers and don’t provide health care, you pay $2K per employee to the Fed as a fine.
So as this mess unravels, people become more and more frustrated, and the truth about Obamacare starts to sink in, it will be time for Obama and his minions to step forward and offer to simplify everything and make it easy for everyone. No more insurance companies, no more hassle, the government will make it all better with single payer. That was the goal all along.
And I guarantee you; at that point, websites and phone banks will work flawlessly, just like magic."

A Disingenuous Comparison
When I saw this story, I immediately had the same reaction as the commenters. Via Lucianne.com and the Jerusalem Post: -- "Jewish group to congressman: Remember your Lithuanian grandmother before voting on immigration". What an insult to our intelligence! Our Lithuanian grandmothers emigrated legally, learned English, and didn't become dependent on the U.S. government!
Miss Nixon Yet?
Kathleen Parker has a roundup of disasters from the Obama White House. The title is "The White House Comedy Club", but it's no joke. After discussing the wiretapping of European leaders, she sums it all up nicely:
"Consequences, which include potential damage to a transatlantic free trade agreement, are yet to be fully imagined. What we cannot avoid registering is that we look like not the glimmering city on the hill but a ship of untrustworthy fools.
We reportedly eavesdrop on our allies and force citizens to buy insurance through a system we can’t manage. We concoct character-smearing rumors and attach them to our political adversaries. And that’s just the executive branch. Most important, we have damaged our bonds of trust with nations we need to keep as friends.
Any one of the above would make for a very bad week in governance. Combined, they suggest an uncomfortable conclusion to the world we purport to lead: The lights are flickering in the city on the hill, and our ship of state is foundering."
At Lucianne.com, comment #10 is very good:

At Lucianne.com, comment #10 is very good:
"There really are only two possible reasons for
Obama´s gargantuan faux pas and sheer numbers of blunders, both foreign
and domestic:
1. He is deliberately isolating America from not only our allies and our enemies (except for Iran and other Muslim nations), but from the American people as well - in order to ready our sacred soil for Sharia rule from both outside and from inside.
...or
2. He is so unfathomably obtuse, ignorant and incompetent that he has for the first time in our history made us a very flabby target for nuke-intensive nations who abhor our way of life.
One can argue unsuccessfully that because he 'leads from behind' that other people in his Administration are the ones to blame. But he is President. The buck stops at his desk, regardless of how he and his sycophant media present the problems.
In either possibility, America is in the most dangerous place she has been in my long life and it isn´t just business as usual, waiting for his term to be over so we can try getting America back on track. He has already 'fundamentally transformed America' for the worse.

How The Mighty Have Fallen.. Into the Gutter
You would think a criminal like former Governor Edwin Edwards would want to keep a low profile. Instead, he and his 50-years-younger wife are doing what so many has-beens and talentless folks have been doing: appearing on a reality show. Read Alessandra Stanley's scathing review.
Another Day, Another Outrage
This is inexcusable: "ObamaCare is making seniors sick. Elderly New Yorkers are in a panic after getting notices that insurance companies are booting their doctors from the Medicare Advantage program as a result of the shifting medical landscape under ObamaCare. That leaves patients with unenviable choices: keep the same insurance plan and find another doctor, pay out of pocket or look for another plan where their physician is a member." Is this Obama's "new normal", where you hang the elderly out to dry and count on people being afraid to speak up or criticize him? You have advocates for illegal aliens, drug addicts, welfare and food stamp recipients. Where are the advocates for us?

The Iraqi Jewish Archive
Carolina Glick reports on yet another an act of betrayal: "In an act of cultural
aggression, the US government has promised to return the Jewish communal
archive — stolen from the Iraqi Jewish community by the Iraqi
government — to the Iraqi government by June 2014. The State Department insists that the archive is Iraqi government
property, since it was found in an Iraqi government building. But if
that is true, then all the Jewish property stored in the Gestapo's
dungeons should have remained German government property after World War
II. And even the comparison to the Nazis is too facile..
The only lawful owners of the Iraqi Jewish archive that is being shown in Washington are the Iraqi Jews and their descendants, who are now overwhelmingly Israelis. The only place the archive should be sent is the Babylonian Jewry Heritage Center in Or Yehuda, the only museum in the world dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of the 2,500-year-old Jewish community of Iraq.
Yet for the American foreign policy establishment, besotted by a quasi-religious belief that the establishment of a Jew-free Palestinian state on Israeli land will cure everything from Islamic jihad to the common cold, recognizing this simple truth is a bridge too far. Restoring the Iraqi Jewish archive to its Israeli owners would be tantamount to recognizing that the cause of the Arab world's conflict with Israel is Arab anti-Semitism.
A petition is now circulating demanding that the US government return the archive to its rightful owners in Israel. At this point, it would be a great miracle if they would just agree to keep it safe in Washington until an American government comes along that decides to base its Middle East policies on the truth."

Obamacare Steamroller
Read Wayne Allyn Root's take on Obamacare. He says, "The GOP needs to stop calling ObamaCare a 'trainwreck.' That means
it’s a mistake, or accident. That means it’s a gigantic flop, or
failure. It’s NOT. This is a brilliant, cynical, and purposeful attempt to damage the U.S. economy, kill jobs, and bring down capitalism." Every day the administration seems to get more desperate in their attempts to ram this down our throats as quickly as possible -- at least in time for the 2014 elections -- before the sheep realize what's going on. If you voted for Obama, and if you are one of the peoplewho demanded "free" health care, you got exactly what you deserve.

Football Flop
What an amusing column regarding last night's unamusing Vikings-Giants football game! Steve Politi writes, "I have witnessed the worst game in the history of professional football. Did you see it, too? You really did? I mean, I was paid to see it. What was your excuse? Those 32 words should be more than enough about this. We should all
wake up, splash some water on our faces, and like the morning after an
awkward hookup at an office Christmas party, pretend the whole thing
never happened... You know that scene in 'Raiders of the Lost Ark,' when Indiana Jones tells Marion to cover her eyes when the Nazis opened the Ark?
And then all the faces of the Nazis melted off? That's what I kept
expecting to see when I looked into the stands at MetLife Stadium."

Righteous Indignation
How petty and obnoxious: "Egyptian hero's kin reject honor by Israel's Holocaust museum. Family of an
Egyptian doctor who helped Jews during the Holocaust says they would
have accepted the honor if it was offered by any other country." By this spiteful act, the family of Mohamed Helmy proves they have obviously learned nothing from his good example. What a shame.

Textarama
This is ridiculous: "Can't bear to turn it off? Movie theater proposes texting aisle for phone-using viewers." Why go to the movies at all if you're not going to watch the film? And why should movie-lovers be inconvenienced by this? What next, texting aisles on Broadway, at church, during funerals? This has gotten out of hand already.

The Excuse of the Day
Here's the reason the Obamacare website isn't working. Even for the Obama administration, this is incredible gall: "In a Politico article lamenting the second week of failed performance
of Healthcare.gov, the Obamacare insurance website, the unnamed
official attempts to explain why the whole thing has been such a dismal
failure: it's the Republicans fault." Sounds like they need doctors to diagnose Republican Derangement Syndrome!

The Only Good Nazis Are Dead Nazis
This is from the Daily Beast: "Erich Priebke: The Nazi Nobody Wanted. He was a ruthless Nazi who ordered the massacre of 335 Italians during World War II—and now, none of the countries where Erich Priebke lived, worked or hid want to accept his remains. Barbie Latza Nadeau reports." Too bad he wasn't reviled and ostracized like that while he was alive!

Babies: Disposable Items
This hideous creature should be sterilized: "Two teenage girls suspected of shoplifting were stopped as they were
leaving the Victoria’s Secret store in Herald Square, and a security
guard checking their bags found what appeared to be a dead baby, police
said Thursday...The girl later told police that she had given birth Wednesday and did not know what to do with the fetus..." So naturally, the logical thing to do is go shoplifting and put the baby in the bag!
Another Tradition Ruined
I agree with Mary Schmich in her column about Thanksgiving. Can't we just observe one nice holiday the old-fashioned way, rather than turning it into another excuse to stampede into stores like wild animals? Black Friday is bad enough, but can't you give it a rest on Thanksgiving?!
Ignorance on Campus

It Was The Longest Shutdown in Years, and All I Got Was This Lousy Indigestion
I was hoping the shutdown would go on longer as a matter of principle, but it looks like what's gone on these past two weeks has accomplished nothing on our behalf. Monica Crowley calls it "The Shameful Cave-In". It's nothing we haven't seen before -- back in 2009, Joseph Farah said this about the Republicans: "The point is that the so-called 'opposition party' has decided to lie
down in the face of this human-wave assault on American sensibilities." Obama's radical agenda will now continue unchecked. We can't catch a break.
Animal Magnetism
From Vanity Fair, here are some wonderful photos of Hollywood celebrities and their dogs.
Victimhood
John Stossel has a good column about the victim mentality in this country. This way of thinking, along with the entitlement mentality (neither of which is discouraged by our president), is contributing to our decline as a country.

"I Don't Believe What I Just Saw"
Remember this? Today is the 25th anniversary of Kirk Gibson's dramatic home run.
Ministers of Propaganda
John Hawkins at Right Wing News, on Obamacare: "In other words, most Americans are being forced to pay more for plans they didn’t want in the first place in order to get a reduced quality of care and more involvement of the IRS in their lives. It may be terrible for the economy, health care, and American’s wallets, but it makes Obama feel like he’s accomplished something; so to the Democrats, it’s worth it." And yet, somehow the media has succeeded in brainwashing people into believing that Obamacare is good while the Republicans are evil. How is this possible?

Quarterback Qualities
Here's a perfect description of Tony Romo by Bill Simmons: "Meanwhile, here's Tony Romo's season so far: 1,523 yards, 71.8
completion percentage, 13 TDs, 2 picks, 114.3 QB rating, 69.4 QBR, 7-8
unofficial 'WOW!' plays, one cruelly unfair game-ending interception
that made everyone feel bad for Tony Romo again. It's officially
impossible to root against Romo unless you root for the Giants/D.C.
Daceys/Eagles — he's like the pre-2004 Red Sox, the
Cubs/Browns/Suns/Bills right now, or every Daniel Bryan WWE title match.
It's weird to think that a football player's mojo has reached the point
that, even as he's having the game of his life and one of the best
games in quarterback history, you're sitting there thinking, I wonder what's gonna go wrong? But
that's where we are. I can't figure out how much of this is Romo's
fault and how much of it comes down to overwhelmingly bad luck. Just
know that I always find myself rooting for him now." I feel the same way.
Sights and Sounds of Tchaikovsky
This is indeed something wonderful at American Digest, a Tchaikovsky hymn I'd never heard, but which is something to see and hear.
When The Nanny State Stops Working
Here's another sign that too many people are dependent on government rather than on themselves. "EBT system failure blocks food stamp debit cards". You would think that people would take any jobs they can to feed their own children, instead of blaming others when "their" food stamps don't work. When you get something for nothing, you have forfeited the right to complain about it.

A Sign of Even Worse Things To Come
What an absolute outrage this is! I was so amazed by this headline that I actually looked it up on Snopes first to make sure it wasn't a hoax. It looks like the only ones pushing seniors off a cliff are the Obamacare Democrats! Everyone should be up in arms over this, but I doubt it will even make the nightly news:
"Thousands of doctors fired by United Health Care: NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)-- In the midst of major changes in health care, UnitedHealthCare has sent thousands of pink slips to Connecticut doctors.
Termination letters went to physicians caring for Medicare patients. Those letters were sent out to doctors caring for 'Medicare Advantage' patients. It's a plan, marketed to Seniors to provide additional services through UnitedHealthCare.
A mix of primary care and specialty doctors are affected by it. And it comes at a questionable time. Open enrollment for Medicare starts next Tuesday, and it's still not clear at this time as to which doctors are still in the United network."

When Terrorists Attack
It's funny, but when I saw the story about the 9 year old who managed to get on a Delta flight alone, I remarked to someone, "I wonder if this is a dry run for terrorism". After all women and children have been used as homicide bombers in the past. Well, just now I read a warning about dry runs on US flights. What better time for terrorists to attack than when the government is shut down and lax, and the people are apathetic?

list was focused on not inviting certain pustulent bags of crap, like

Good News in Israel
While Obama still can't make up his mind about the Keystone XL Pipeline, look what's happening in Israel: "Israel Strikes More Oil in Area Discovered on Basis of Torah Verse. Moses made the right turn after all. In his song at the end of the Torah he spoke of ‘precious things of 'Givat HaOlam.' The hidden meaning of 'precious things' seems to be oil. Not olive oil, but black gold." Good for them!

Read these spot-on remarks from Governor Rick Perry:
"'We judge success by the number of people that have a job,'’ said Perry, who has been a vociferous critic of the Affordable Care Act.
He said working Texans are free to 'go buy (health) insurance, or be in a company that delivers that health care for them. That’s the real future of America.'
Nor did he hold back on Obama,
'The President of the United States thinks the more people on public assistance, the more successful he is as a leader,' he said."
It's too bad. If he or Governor Romney had been elected President, we wouldn't be in this mess today.

Beautiful Music
Sometimes you need classical music to soothe you, so here is Smetana's "Die Moldau".
Oh, Leave Us Alone!
How stupid is this? "Hanukkah-Thanksgiving mash-up: ‘Thanksgivukkah’. When holidays collide, you
get the ‘Menurkey’". No, thank you! It's tacky, too commercial, and diminishes the meaning behind the two holidays.

The One Who Knocks
I'm going to miss all those great "Breaking Bad" analyses now that the show is over, but the Internet is still full of good articles for those of us who can't get enough. Here's a Jewish perspective, and this is the "I am the one who knocks" speech as written by famous authors.
Lots 'o Links
Here's more great reading on the government shutdown and other news thanks to Betsy's Page, Maggie's Farm, and Larwyn's Linx.
The Wild Wild West
Will they blame this on the Republicans, too? "Both ABC and NBC reported that someone tried to ram the White House gate
and was then chased, going to the Capitol. ABC is reporting that a
female suspect is now dead."

Health Care for Julia
Did you see the Obamacare website? I'm assuming the woman in the photograph is Julia.
Living Long Is The Best Revenge
Read about the life of Israel Gutman, who has died at age 90 -- a survivor of not one but three Nazi concentration camps, a professor, and a historian. People who whine today about how tough life is should look to him for inspiration.

You Press The Button, We Do The Rest
Here are some great old Kodak photographs. The camera shown resembles the one my grandfather had.
Why Work? Others Will Do It For You!
William Murchison says the problem isn't Obama, the problem is us -- that is, people so used to getting something for nothing that they now expect it, at the expense of the rest of us. Obama just encourages this way of thinking. Murchison writes, "After Obamacare — which is likely to survive in diminished or expanded form, once it hooks 10 or 20 or 30 millions of us on the joys of health care funded by other taxpayers — no one can tell where things will lead. Earlier retirement, bigger pensions, bigger schools, subsidized auto purchases, subsidized utilities — who can say? This makes it all the more important to restrain, to diminish, the reach and power of Obamacare…. Such is the story Ted Cruz and the whole host of celebrity conservative spokesmen should be telling now in level voices: Obama isn’t the problem; Obamacare isn’t the problem. These are passing afflictions. The problem is America’s growing acceptance of the delusory propositions that opportunity means someone else’s good luck; that passing the buck is the prelude to receiving bucks galore from other parties; that the government must surely love and care for you, because… well, don’t you watch the President’s speeches?"
I am sick and tired of being punished for working and earning money! And I don't work so that others can benefit from it -- I work so I can benefit from it!
