A Great Yiddish Vinkl Curse!

The subject of Harold Ticktin's June 26 Yiddish Vinkl column is the word shlingen, which means swallow.

As an example, he offers this colorful curse from the wonderful YiddishWit.com: “Zol er shlingen a shirem un s’zol zikh im efenen in boykh. – He should swallow an umbrella and may it open in his stomach.”

For some reason, I thought of the Democrats when I read that.
