Pope Francis the Antisemite

When I saw this Washington Post headline today, I saw red.  This was in my Washington Post newsletter:

"Pope warned Israel’s president not to commit ‘terror’ in Gaza in a call weeks ago that Israel deemed ‘bad’ and didn’t make public. The call informed Israeli anger over Francis’s Nov. 22 comments weeks later that the Gaza war is terrorism, which the Vatican has refused to clarify. Pro-Israeli groups are increasingly condemning the pope’s position, rekindling historical tensions between Jewish leaders and the Vatican."

He must be as senile as Biden in this respect.

So the Pope thinks that Hamas committing a pogrom against Israelis isn't terrorism, but Israel reacting to that pogrom IS terrorism?

"'How else could it be interpreted?' said the senior official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter."

To me, there's only one interpretation: that the Pope is yet another Hamas appeaser and collaborator.

No wonder Israel didn't want to make this public. A pope saying that the Israelis are terrorists is the best propaganda that Hamas could ever hope for.  Think of the "inspiration" it will also give to pro-Hamas, anti-Israel, antisemitic groups around the world.  

If we think they are brazen now in their hatred, just wait.

Israel is fighting for her life and had better start fighting back even harder now.

Today's Quislings & Holocaust Deniers: The Enemies Within

Before the massacre of Jews in Israel on October 7, I would not have believed that such hatred and denial could exist here in the United States. Now I know differently.

Now I know that even if a second Holocaust were to occur, there would still be haters and deniers rallying for the Nazis, Hamas, ISIS, Al Qaeda, or whoever the Jew-exterminators are. It's now perfectly acceptable and even trendy to kill, torture, kidnap, hunt, intimidate, and harass Jews -- plus,  there are no consequences.

You don't have to look far:

From the UK Daily Mail: "Woke Oakland residents deny Hamas October 7 massacre and BOO Jewish speakers at town meeting where they blasted anyone who disagreed with them as 'white supremacists'"

This isn't "woke". This is "evil." These people should be ashamed to show such hatred in public, but they seem proud of it.

"'Calling Hamas a terrorist organization is ridiculous, racist and plays into genocidal propaganda that is flooding our media and that we should be doing everything possible to combat,' said one young woman who concealed her face with a COVID mask."

"This woman alleged that Israel killed its own citizens. 'There have not been beheadings of babies and rapings. Israel murdered their own people on October 7th!' she said."

"This man told the meeting: 'To hear [Israel] complain about Hamas violence is like listening to a wife beater complain when his wife finally stands up and fight back.'"

These traitors prove that ignorance is bliss and that the Hamas anti-Israel propaganda is working all too well.

But President Biden still thinks that "Islamophobia" is the problem!

PLEASE Protect Others From Catching What You're Spreading!

This is a good opinion piece by Laura Pettenuzzo, a disabled writer in Australia, who, like many others, prefer not to catch the COVID virus from you. It's a shame so many people are still so inconsiderate towards others.  Isn't it a shame we even still have to say these things after 4 years?

Spare me. If you have a runny nose, stay home.

He was unmasked, and he’d asked me to shut the rear window so that dust didn’t get into the car. Frankly, I was more concerned with what was already inside it. "This situation is not unfamiliar to me, or to the millions of other disabled people in Australia who – by necessity – continue to take precautions against COVID. Every time we leave our homes, we gamble with our wellbeing and our lives. We’re crossing our fingers and hoping that we’ll return unscathed. But the risk wouldn’t be so high if we could trust other people to offer us the most basic courtesy: at any sign of sickness, stay at home.

"It’s a courtesy advised by Professor Brendan Crabb, director of Melbourne’s Burnet Institute. Crabb has been a vocal advocate for COVID precautions since the early stages of the pandemic. He recently told ABC Radio Melbourne that we are currently experiencing a 'reasonably big' COVID wave, during which 'virtually every family will be exposed.' Crabb urged listeners to 'get tested and act on that result [stay home],' in order to 'look after yourself but also look after other people.' Crabb noted that it’s impossible to get an exact measure of current infection rates due to a decline in testing and reporting of positive cases, but that’s no reason for us to grow complacent.

"I have a form of cerebral palsy called spastic diplegia. My legs often shake involuntarily, and my body exerts roughly 4 times as much energy on any given task as someone without cerebral palsy. I already need to ration my energy, and shudder to imagine how acute COVID infection would diminish my quality of life.

"Research from Washington University has found that every COVID infection significantly increases risk of stroke and heart disease among the general population. This risk is even higher for people with disability, according to the Melbourne Disability Institute, as we are more likely to die or experience serious symptoms from infection.

"As if that wasn’t alarming enough, the World Health Organisation estimates that Long COVID will occur in approximately 1 in 10 infections. It’s a biological condition that renders many patients unable to work or attend school or university and leaves the most severely affected bed bound, unable to tolerate light or sound or conversation. Anyone can be susceptible to Long COVID, even fit and healthy people, even children. In the words of Crabb, 'you can’t really pick who’s more vulnerable than others.' With over 200 known symptoms that impact all bodily systems, the condition has been likened to a living death.

"I have friends who live with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS), a post-viral illness similar to Long COVID, for whom the consequences of COVID infection would be devastating. We can – and do – take all possible precautions, but we can’t do this alone. We need you to do your bit, too. If you’ve got a sore throat or a headache or a runny nose, stay at home. If you can’t stay home, keep your distance from other people, wear a mask and meet outdoors or in well-ventilated spaces.

"There are a number of reasons why staying home when sick is not simple or easy for everyone, including caring responsibilities and the potential loss of income, especially for casual workers or those in the gig economy. But if you’ve got even the slightest symptom and you can stay home, I implore you to do so. FOMO is not reason enough to risk my health, or yours. My life and wellbeing are worth more than one missed dinner date or concert or outing of any sort.

"The best way to protect yourself, your loved ones and the disability community is to stay home if you’re sick. You’ll be saving more lives than you’ll ever know."

Innocent? Don't Make Me Laugh

Dov Fischer discusses "The 'Innocent' Civilians of Gaza".  They are only "innocent" in the constant propaganda that Hamas supporters print every day. They are as "innocent" as the German citizens who collaborated with the Nazis, attacked Jews, and informed on Jews.

He writes:

"The 'innocent' citizens of Gaza.

"Through five previous wars with Israel, the 'innocent' citizens of Gaza have supported the terrorists. They have played along and made merry. They cheer when rockets kill Jews in Israel. They line the streets to mourn when a terrorist is killed by Israel. The “innocent” citizens of Gaza.

"After each of the five previous wars, Netanyahu and his governments agreed to stop fighting without winning. Each time, Hamas declared the ceasefires 'victories,' and the 'innocent' citizens of Gaza danced in the streets, handed out candies, and celebrated another 'victory' over the Zionists."

The only innocent civilians are the victims of the October 7 murders, atrocities, and hostage-taking committed in Israel by Hamas, even though the antisemitic world would rather forget that fact.

No more truces, pauses, or ceasefires. No more Hamas tricks. Only Israel's decimation of Hamas.

And Joe Biden, based on what he and his staff are saying and not saying, is strongly implying he'd rather have a permanent ceasefire than have Israel defeat Hamas once and for all.  After all that has happened since October 7, he's no innocent civilian either.

Lessons from COVID

Here's another excellent article by contributing editor Andrew Nikiforuk at The Tyee. Those of us who have been COVID-cautious this whole time will appreciate it. Those who dismiss COVID as a hoax or a cold won't heed the warnings.

Why is Biden On the Side of Hamas?

Look at this breaking news: "Negotiators push for extension of Israel-Hamas cease-fire as exchange agreement reaches final day."

Here we go again. There's nothing to celebrate, no victory to declare. This, is as always, bad for Israel and good for Hamas, and it makes me sick that Israel has to go through this yet again!

As Jed Babbin says, "Unless Israel destroys Hamas in Gaza and kills Hamas leaders, they will never regain the initiative."

"There are several reasons the Israelis find themselves in this almost impossible position. First among them is the unrelenting pressure from President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Tony Blinken, and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan to compromise and enter cease-fire agreements.

"Have you noticed that there are no announced hostage rescues? It’s because of U.S. pressure that the Israelis haven’t attempted to rescue the hostages. It’s also because some idiots — i.e., Biden & Co. — must have convinced Israel that it had to stop gathering intelligence on hostage locations using drone aircraft."

And

"There is a lot Biden can do to help the hostage releases and rescues, but it’s a dead-bang certainty that he’ll take none of the following actions.

"First Biden should, as indicated above, reposition U.S. spy satellites to help locate the hostages.

"Second, Biden should move U.S. naval forces and array them to block the proposed Turkish flotilla. That would send a strong signal to Turkey and to Iran. (Iran reportedly attacked an Israeli-owned ship in the Indian Ocean with a drone on Friday).

"Third, Biden should give the Israelis a go-ahead signal to rescue whichever of the hostages they can. American lives are at stake, so we should — with our SEALs and British SAS forces already in Israel — join in the hostage rescue missions if the Israelis want the assistance. Israeli special forces are more than capable of launching those missions, successfully, alone.

"Fourth, Biden should tell Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer that the House-passed bill containing only Israeli aid should be passed immediately, instead of insisting on a package deal containing Ukraine aid and 'border security' funding which will do nothing to secure our southern border. 

"Biden is playing a very dangerous game, dangerous to Israel’s future and to our national security. A New York Times Sunday editorial began with the sentence, “It is said that wars end when both sides conclude they have nothing more to gain by fighting.” It goes on to say, as Biden has, that a two-state solution is the only means of reaching a lasting peace between Israel and the Palestinians."

Unprotecting the Elderly

This is just disgraceful: "Tennessee sees spike in nursing homes battling serious problems since COVID-19 pandemic; Long-term care advocates worry that nursing home quality has plummeted since the pandemic due to a perfect storm of problems."

This is happening not only in Tennessee, but nationwide.

Also:  "Majority of workers at America's nursing homes unvaccinated against flu, COVID."

So much for protecting the elderly.

Yiddish Word of the Day

In my family, such a person was known as a "zhlub", and it was used interchangeable with "shlump". It was very common for one of us to utter the expression, "Boy, what a zhlub!" upon seeing some dopey slob on TV or out in public.

The Goal of Hamas is To Win

I came across this excellent column this morning, which I could have written myself if only if I were as eloquent as Rabbi Barclay. I feel the same way, and I have always felt the same way in past years every time Obama or Biden would pressure Israel to "pause" just as they were making headway against Hamas. This hostage "exchange" isn't a victory -- it's just more of the same propaganda. Do you really think the antisemitic pro-Hamas rallies and marches will cease after this? Of course not. If anything, they will get more brazen.

The Insidious Reason Why Hamas Is Releasing Hostages, by Rabbi Michael Barclay

"13 Israeli hostages are now under Israeli supervision and on their way home, and 39 criminals are returning to Gaza. Israel made this exchange because of the Jewish value of treasuring each individual life.  But given that Hamas repeatedly demonstrates that they have no respect for life, even for their own civilians whom they use as human shields, why is Hamas actually making this exchange?  

"There is the obvious reason that it gives Hamas days to recover and regroup, but there is another, more insidious and dangerous reason for Hamas to make this exchange. A reason that has nothing to do with the military war against Israel that they cannot win. This is regarding the war that they can, God forbid, win: the war to hurt the world’s opinion of Israel.

"Hamas has been winning that war of public opinion since the moment Israel started going into Gaza after the depravities of October 7. Quickly, the world forgot and ignored the horrors they perpetrated in favor of focusing on the 'innocent victims in Gaza' who were being killed in the crossfire with Israel. The images of beheaded babies and raped women were replaced by images of Gazan children crying; all of which prompted demonstrations and protests against Israel around the world. These demonstrations put pressure on governments like the United States to apply pressure on Israel to have a ceasefire. The more 'innocent victims' in Gaza, the more worldwide pressure has been put on Israel to only defeat, and not totally destroy Hamas. And anything less than a total destruction of Hamas allows Hamas, God forbid, to fulfill their promise of repeating the horrors of October 7 again and again.

"That is their goal: to win the war of public relations and manipulate the world to force Israel to back down from their stated and necessary goal of destroying Hamas. Remembering that truth in combination with looking at the actions that are taking place right now in Gaza allows us to see why Hamas wanted this ceasefire time and how this hostage exchange is part of a larger plan. It also shows us the truth about Gaza’s 'innocents'.

"From the moment the ceasefire started, hours before the hostages were exchanged, Hamas revealed its real goal of this ceasefire time if we only look at their actions. It is a setup to increase demonstrations for Gazan 'civilians' after Israel recommences the war.

"Thousands of Gazan 'civilians' are moving from the safety of the south back to the battlefield of the north, including women and children. On Thursday night, Hamas urged that all 'civilians' who support them go back to the north. Why would they do this? Why would any family consciously put themselves back in harm’s way when they could stay safely in the south?

"It is because they are not  'innocent civilians' at all. They are simply Hamas terrorists and supporters without physical weapons. These 'civilians' are not forced human shields being abused by Hamas, they are willing and active cogs in the Hamas war effort, willing to die for their cause of destroying Israel and repeating the horrors of October 7, which they celebrated in the streets of Gaza at that time. They are unarmed soldiers whose only goal is to protect Hamas against Israel when the war is restarted in a few days. These 'innocents' are anything but innocent, and are returning to the north with the intent of stopping Israel from destroying Hamas bases, tunnels, and weapons.

"These thousands of unarmed soldiers are not being forced to be human shields. They are returning to the north so that they can become martyrs. They hope to die for their cause, and in so doing, create more images of 'innocents' dying to negatively affect world opinion of Israel. They are hoping that their presence as “civilians” will protect Hamas bases from Israeli attacks; that it will lead to more IDF deaths, God forbid, and that if they die, they will have sacrificed themselves as brave soldiers for Hamas in the effort to get the world to allow Hamas to survive this war.

"As depraved as Hamas’ acts on October 7 were, the acts of these unarmed soldiers betray an equally sick and twisted psychology.  

"Thousands of Gazans are consciously putting their own children in harm’s way with one intent: to protect Hamas with their children’s lives. These are not innocent civilians; they are the very worst and most dangerous type of soldiers: soldiers with a death wish. Not just for themselves, but for their children.

"Golda Meir was right when she said that we would only have peace when they love their children more than they hate us.

"We must remember in the coming days when the war recommences that these 'civilians' are not innocent, but are Hamas soldiers. They are not innocents that Hamas is using as human shields; they are soldiers that are consciously choosing to sacrifice themselves for Hamas’ goals. They are not parents most concerned with their children’s welfare and safety; they are committed fanatics who will willingly let their children die if it will further the cause of Hamas.

"They truly hate us more than they love their own children.  

"So when the images come out in the next weeks of crying Gazan families who died while Israel returned to destroying Hamas bases and tunnels, remember that these are not victims, but fanatical soldiers who have chosen to sacrifice themselves as part of supporting Hamas. We must never forget that these families are leaving the safety of the south in order to actively help Hamas and its war effort. They are not victims, they are unarmed soldiers who have not only volunteered for the Hamas army, but have volunteered their children.

"This is why Hamas is making an exchange:  to create victims that will manipulate world opinion against Israel… and it is truly an insidious goal. 

"They have chosen to make their children soldiers and sacrifices. It is sick, twisted, and horrific, and their evil in doing this must always be remembered.

"May the day not be distant when Arab parents do love their children more than they hate Jews, and may we see the results of parental love in a world of peace."

New COVID Variants to Watch For

COVID is not over, and several new, highly transmissible variants are in the news:

Variant EU-21:  "A new variant of the COVID-19 virus has been identified in several European countries, raising concerns among health officials.

"This variant, tentatively named EU-21, is believed to be highly transmissible, similar to the Delta variant. It was first detected in Greece and has since been reported in neighboring countries including Italy, Germany, and France."

Variant B.1.1.7.2:  "A new strain of the COVID-19 virus has been identified in Tokyo, Japan, causing heightened concerns among health officials.

"The variant, designated as B.1.1.7.2, was detected in a sample taken from a local resident who had recently traveled to the United Kingdom, where the strain was first discovered.

"Health experts have expressed worries about this new variant due to its potential increased transmissibility and resistance to certain treatments and vaccines."

But by all means, don't get vaccinated, don't wear a mask, and don't practice social distancing, because, as you keep saying, "It's just a cold."

Jew-Hunting Brats

Here's another sickening headline I never thought I'd see in America:

New York Post: "Pro-Israel teacher hides in Queens high school as ‘radicalized’ students riot: ‘They want her fired’"

"Hundreds of  'radicalized'  kids rampaged through the halls of a Queens high school this week for nearly two hours after they discovered a teacher had attended a pro-Israel rally — forcing the terrified educator to hide in a locked office as the teen mob tried to push its way into her classroom, The Post has learned.

"The mayhem at Hillcrest High School in Jamaica unfolded shortly after 11 a.m. Monday in what students called a pre-planned protest over the teacher’s Facebook profile photo showing her at a pro-Israel rally on Queens Oct. 9 holding a poster saying, 'I stand with Israel.'

"'The teacher was seen holding a sign of Israel, like supporting it,' a senior told The Post this week.

"'A bunch of kids decided to make a group chat, expose her, talk about it, and then talk about starting a riot.'

"Hundreds of kids flooded into hallways and ran amok, chanting, jumping, shouting, and waving Palestinian flags or banners. 

"Many tried to barge into the teacher’s classroom despite school staffers blocking their entry.

"'Everyone was yelling ‘Free Palestine!’' a senior said.

"'Everyone was screaming ‘(The teacher) needs to go!’' a ninth-grader said."

No, these mini-Hamas supporters need to go. Preferably to Juvenile Hall!

They have learned this despicable antisemitic behavior from their parents, in school, and/or on social media, and they think it's "cool" rather than destructive, especially since there are no consequences at all.

That poor teacher must be traumatized and should sue. But if it were up to Joe Biden, he would probably make sure she was sent for "Islamophobia" re-education.  

He thinks he's such a Big Macher, he makes demands of Israel but somehow can't address the country and condemn antisemitic riots and intimidation such as this.  He needs to do that -- or some celebrity should do that --   without bringing up "Islamophobia".

"Islamophobia" is a liberal term used to dismiss  the genuine fear Americans, Israelis, and Jews have after brutal Islamic terrorist attacks such as that on September 11 and October 7.  That is a rational fear.

Antisemitism is a real hatred that includes the extermination of Jews.

If you can't see the difference, you must be a Nazi-Hamas-Al Qaeda-Hezbollah-ISIS collaborator too.

Even if This Isn't COVID, Do You Really Want This Here in America?

From Newsweek:  "Chinese Hospitals Overloaded in Echoes of COVID as Pneumonia Rampages."

Reuters says  "Don't press 'pandemic panic button' scientists caution on China pneumonia report." 

I don't know about you, but I'd rather be alarmed than apathetic over a surge of illness like this, even if it turns out to have nothing to do with COVID.

Do American parents really want their kids to deal with a serious pneumonia outbreak?  Do U.S. emergency rooms really want overcrowding and doctor burnout yet again?

Take precautions and monitor the situation instead of relying on the usual apathetic "COVID is over" lie.

If It's Friday, It Must Be Time for Another Biden Demand

Lately, I've been looking up "Biden demands..." to see what he is making Netanyahu do next regarding protecting and defending Israel. 

And of course, I wasn't at all surprised to see this headline in my The Jewish Express newsletter this morning: "Biden Demands IDF Pause on Hezbollah". It's since been changed to "Biden Asked Netanyahu for Pause on Northern Border as Well", but the answer should be the same: a firm "NO".

Meanwhile, only 13 Israel hostages have been released by Hamas so far.  

Haters of Israel always talk about "disproportionality". Well, to me nothing is as disproportionate as Israel releasing at least 150 criminals in exchange for the 50 Israels of the 250 taken hostage on October 7.

This is a very bad deal, this ceasefire only helps Hamas and hurts Israel, and with friends like Biden, who needs more enemies?

As usual, the Babylon Bee got it right: "Hamas Offers To Release Hostages If Israel Agrees To Not Exist."

"'My terms are simple and reasonable,' said Haniyeh from a jacuzzi tub in his massive Qatar mansion. 'I will let all the hostages go, and all I ask in return is for the entire state of Israel to disappear from the face of the earth, and all the Jews who live therein to die painful deaths, praise be to Allah'"

Unfortunately, most antisemites do think like this, so at the Babylon Bee, satire imitates reality.

Wanted: COVID Protection at Medical Facilities & Nursing Homes

Here we go again:

From Axios: Nursing home vaccination rates are low as COVID cases rise 

This is unacceptable and disgraceful.  If anyone should require a COVID vaccine mandate, it's nursing home residents and the staff who care for them.

"Only about 17% of nursing home residents and 2% of staff are up to date on their COVID-19 shots as cases rise across the country and health officials prepare for another seasonal tripledemic of respiratory diseases.

"The big picture: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention figures show takeup of the updated vaccine is lagging in the high-risk setting and could reflect the troubled rollout of updated shots that slowed distribution to long-term care facilities.

• The Biden administration also lifted a vaccine mandate for health workers and other requirements with the end of the public health emergency.
• That's left some of the most vulnerable Americans unprotected against the most common strains of the virus in circulation."

 What are they waiting for, more mass deaths?

Terror Attack at the US-Canadian Border?

From CNN: "FBI investigating ‘vehicle explosion’ at Rainbow Bridge on US-Canadian border" 

If this is a dry run or a terror attack, Biden had better start protecting our borders.  Instead of interfering in Israel's business, demanding pauses and ceasefires with murderous Hamas terrorists, he should be protecting our country against terrorists.

This should be a wake-up call.

We have pro-Hamas sympathizers and antisemites on campus and across the country; we don't know who is coming in through Mexico; we still have Al Qaeda and ISIS to worry about; and all Biden does is talk about "Islamophobia".

Wake up before we have another September 11 -- or our own October 7.

Jack and Jackie, Nov. 22, 1963: Forever Young

Today marks the 60th anniversary of the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, a date so shocking that none of us who lived through that terrible day can ever forget it.

I can remember school being dismissed early, my mother crying, and all of us watching more TV that  weekend than we had ever watched in my life. We lived in JFK's home state of Massachusetts, so the loss was even more personal. I Don't Trust Hamas as Far as I Can Throw Them

From CNN:  "Israel, Hamas and the US are on the cusp of reaching a deal that could be announced as soon as Tuesday for Hamas to release 50 women and children hostages that the militant group took during the October 7 terror attack on Israel, in exchange for a four-to-five day pause in fighting and three Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons for every hostage released, according to sources familiar with the negotiations."

"The deal could be announced as soon as Tuesday, two Israeli sources said. US officials close to the negotiations stressed that while the deal is not done, they are increasingly optimistic and believe the many weeks of difficult work is about to pay off with a hostage release." 

(a) Hamas is not a "militant group" -- they are terrorists who kill, rape, & mutilate
(b) Why don't they release all the hostages?
(c) During this "pause", Hamas will regain its strength & plan another attack
(d) Whatever the outcome, Israel will be blamed

"STONE: More than 16,000 people are being hospitalized with COVID in the U.S. each week. Dr. Emily Landon at UChicago Medicine says the patients she sees in the hospital tend to be highly immunocompromised. They have multiple underlying health conditions. They're older.

"EMILY LANDON: That 75-, 80-year-olds are definitely at much higher risk than younger individuals, but that doesn't mean it's a death sentence at all.

"STONE: Thanks to early treatment and vaccines. Landon thinks about how to strike the right balance in her own life. After all, she has an autoimmune condition and takes medication that suppresses her immune system. Plus, her mother is 80 and undergoing cancer treatment.

"LANDON: We're definitely being careful, but, you know, we're still going out. I went to the opera this week. I wore a mask during the performance, didn't stop me from going and didn't stop my mom from going either.

"STONE: Her take is that most Americans can afford to get together for the holidays without many precautions, like testing or wearing masks at the table. Instead, she says try to focus on cutting down your risk ahead of time. Wear a well-fitting N95 or K95 mask while traveling and in crowded indoor areas. Justin Lessler is an epidemiologist at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. He says cases are starting to pick up in much of the country and will probably peak next month or in January.

"JUSTIN LESSLER: It's going to be a persistent threat with some variation, just like we see with flu.

"STONE: So what's he doing differently? Well, in years past, Lessler says he'd take a rapid test before Thanksgiving, maybe wear a mask, even if he was going to be around other people like him who are basically healthy and middle aged.

"LESSLER: Now, I probably wouldn't, partially because I have the reformulated vaccine, but also because I think the risk to those folks is a lot less now.

"STONE: But if you knew there was a relative there in their 80s?

"LESSLER: I'd almost certainly take a test before I went."

Of course I thought this just had to be a Babylon Bee headline or something.  We are being invaded by illegal aliens, and this is what the Border Patrol should be concerned with?!

Mayorkas should be fired for many reasons, but this is the last straw. you shouldn't ask if they have COVID or other diseases; you shouldn't ask if they are criminals; and you shouldn't ask how they expect to support themselves after trespassing in our country! But you should call them "ze" and "zir"?

Here's some of Melanie Phillips' latest column, Media, lies and videotape -- Western journalists will never reset the lethal prism through which they refract the Palestinian war against the Jews

The BBC’s World Editor, Jeremy Bowen, waved the discovery aside and said he didn’t find it convincing. He declared:

"In the Middle East, you see an awful lot of Kalashnikovs … and it’s not inconceivable that perhaps the security department of a hospital might have had them. 

"Yesterday, the IDF revealed that it had uncovered a 55-foot long tunnel down a shaft underneath the hospital, ending at a blast-proof door. It also released CCTV footage from al Shifa of a Nepalese and a Thai hostage being brought in, one of them clearly wounded lying on a hospital gurney and the other being roughly dragged through the hospital corridors with staff looking on. 

"One might think all this was proof positive that al Shifa was indeed used as a Hamas command centre, just as Israel had always said. But not for the western media, for whom believing that the Palestinian 'victims' of Israeli “oppression” are actually bloodthirsty and manipulative liars while the despised Israelis are their truth-telling victims would entail the world spinning off its axis and shattering into a million virtue-signalling fragments along with these journalists’ entire moral personality.

"So there was yet another hallucinatory exchange this morning on BBC Radio’s Today programme (about 2 hours 15 minutes in). "Yes, she really did ask that. Had the Israelis seen footage of them being treated, she inquired? Eh? Since one of them was on a hospital gurney and was clearly injured, she persisted, did the Israelis have footage of him being treated?

"So let’s get our heads round this — one hostage was being wheeled in on a gurney by armed men after an attempt by their fellow terrorists to murder him; the other was seen being roughly dragged by armed men, one of whom held a meat cleaver, into a hospital where one hostage at least had been murdered on the premises; and this BBC presenter is asking whether the Israelis can prove that the hostages weren’t being brought in for treatment?"

Those who hate the Jews and hate Israel will twist themselves into knots in their zeal to persuade you that the Jews are aggressors and liars, and that the Muslims are victims. They are actually accusing the IDF for the slaughter of over 350 people at the Supernova Rave.  By now, everyone ought to know what Islamic terrorists are capable of, but it's somehow easier for people to blame Jews for everything, especially for the murders of Jews. And in this environment, there are plenty of gullible idiots willing to believe the lies.

Remember that those who blame the Jews for the October 7 pogrom are the same as those who deny that the Holocaust ever happened.  And nothing  you can say, and no proof you can show them, will ever change that.

The Pandemic is Over, So Let's Close the Hospitals

This is a disaster that had better be prevented from happening:

"The National Rural Health Association says costs for hospitals have gone up and funding for rural hospitals has gone down, because COVID-19 funds are no longer a factor. The emergency funds helped many hospitals that were at risk of closing before the pandemic to keep their doors open through 2020."

"Robert Pascasio is the CEO of OmniPoint Health Hospital in Anahuac, Texas. He says rural hospitals are struggling to maintain their operations after dealing with higher costs and labor shortages.

"'COVID increased costs for all of us across the board. Labor costs are up, substantially. Supply costs are up, substantially,' Pascasio said. 'We’re still experiencing shortages. A lot of folks got out of healthcare as a result of COVID.'

"Now, COVID funds that kept many rural hospitals open during the pandemic have ended, resulting in the closure of 18 rural hospitals in addition to 18 that no longer offer in-patient care since the funding stopped over a year ago.

"Carrie Cochran-McClain of The National Rural Hospital Association says many hospitals across the country are now at risk of closing.

"'We have up to a third of rural hospitals that are vulnerable to closure,' McClain said. 'Rural hospitals are finding themselves in worse conditions than when they went into the pandemic and when they received those funds.'"

"You’ll notice that Hamas is not asking, as it has done earlier, for the release of its prisoners held in Israel, not even women and adolescent terrorists in exchange for the kidnapped women and children. Only a 5-day pause in the fighting."

In the Nazis' heydey, the word "action" also meant the targeted murder of Jews.  I would not be at all surprised if these rabid antisemites soon call for the extermination of Jews in America.

The Harmful Consequences of COVID Apathy

 Dylan Scott at Vox asks some good questions: "Why are so few people getting the latest Covid-19 vaccine? What good is a miraculous vaccine if nobody wants to take it?"

Here's an excerpt, but it you care about COVID and about the people who may get very sick, you ought to read the whole column:

They were delivered earlier than anyone thought possible and proved exceptionally effective in preventing hospitalizations and deaths. "But so far this year, just 14 percent of adults have received a dose of the new vaccine formulation that became available in September — compared to 28 percent who have gotten a flu shot.

"This raises a question that would have seemed unthinkable three years ago: What if we make a miraculous vaccine and nobody wants it?

"Ever since that first shot, the public’s interest in subsequent Covid-19 vaccines has been steadily dropping. Less than 70 percent of the US finished their initial two-dose vaccine series. Less than 20 percent of the country received last year’s bivalent booster shot.

I just don't understand it, and I dread the consequences of the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas mobs of shoppers and celebrants as they blithely help spread COVID, maskless, vaccine-less,  and brainless.

An Alarming COVID Warning from Australia

This is from Australia, but how do you know it won't happen here in the United States? I'd rather be prepared than apathetic.

Americans are in denial and think that COVID is over,. This news proves it's not. Why would you not get your vaccines, wear a mask, and be vigilent, rather than ignore what might happen?

And why am I still seeing so many elderly people unmasked and unconcerned?

More Money For Iran? Is Biden Kidding?

I saw this headline and thought either I had read it incorrectly, or else it was a parody from The Onion or The Babylon Bee.

Unfortunately, it means what it says:

"Biden Mulls Approval of Fresh $10 Billion for Iran; Sanctions waiver frees up money for Tehran as it funds Hamas’s war on Israel"

"'The world is living in a post-Oct. 7 world, but the White House is still running an Oct. 6 policy toward Iran,' Richard Goldberg, a senior adviser at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and sanctions expert who previously served on the White House National Security Council, told the Washington Free Beacon, referring to Hamas’s attack last month. 'Why should Iran have any access to more than $10 billion after sponsoring one of the worst terrorist attacks against American citizens and the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust? It would make more sense to freeze all of these accounts and keep every penny out of Tehran's hands.'' 

Even if Biden just mulls it over and doesn't actually approve the money, just the fact that he is even considering such a rash move is outrageous and proves why you can't trust him.

We can't afford 4 more years of Biden's destructive policies.

Antisemitic Episodes up 818% -- in the Netherlands alone!

Antisemitic incidents in the Netherlands have risen a staggering 818% since Hamas massacred Israelis on October 7.

Makes perfect  sense,  doesn't it?

What continues to amaze me is how the pogrom against Jews has all been forgotten, and somehow it has been turned into "Israel's War on Gaza". 

Per European Jewish Press:

"Schools in particular have seen a disturbing number of anti-Semitic displays. For example, a Jewish boy at school was threatened with a knife and hit on the head with a bottle, with the perpetrators calling the boy a 'cancer Jew'. An Israeli girl hears from two classmates, 'If there is a cancer Jew in this school, I am going to shoot him, I don’t want that kind in school here.' Naming ‘cancer Jew’ and making Hitler salutes has taken place at several schools, as well as harassment and swearing in WhatsApp conversations and personal messages on social media.

"Jewish organizations and individuals have been assailed with anti-Semitic emails and private messages such as  'As to be expected from hypocritical Jews, the hospital in Gaza has been bombed. What a disgusting people you are' or 'Especially with a past as Holocaust survivors, you should know better, but you are no better.' Similar incidents take place by phone, calling with regularity that Hitler should have finished his work.

”Although we saw an increase in anti-Semitic incidents during previous periods of conflict, it was never as significant as it is now. It is very worrisome that Jews in the Netherlands are held responsible for conflicts taking place in the Middle East. It seems as if Israel is being used to bash Jews. Old conspiracy theories are being recycled and are back from never happening,’’ said CID (Center of Information and Documentation Israel), a Dutch-Jewish watchdog based in The Hague."

The fact that children are parroting such sickening antisemitic remarks shows they are learning this at home from their parents; at school from their teachers; and on their cell phones. Jew-haters are experts at manipulating the press, and from the vile response of hundreds of thousands of appeasers and collaborators, it proves they are successfully spreading old antisemitic messages and making it seem trendy to their receptive and gullible audience.

As a child in the early 60s, I would be chased home by kids who yelled "You killed Christ!".  This was before cell phones and 24-hr cable news, so this was as bad as it got for me. But now, like all Jews, I am very fearful.

Some of these incidents prove that half of the anti-Israel marchers have no clue about what's going on, just that it's a protest - and it's probably fun to join, it gets you out of class, it makes you more popular with your similarly-ignorant peers, and it gets you more media attention:

"British students protesting at a pro-Palestine rally said they had 'not seen anything that shows' Hamas invaded Israel on October 7, admitting they were not 'clued up' on the conflict. 

"The two young women, who appear to be in their twenties, were stopped at a protest march in London this month by reporters. 

"But despite holding up a home-made sign - complete with sketches and stickers condemning the British Government - the women admitted they weren't aware of the Hamas attacks."

Instead of shaming these people, the October 7 atrocities by Hamas against Israelis have only provided an excuse for their open hatred:

"Hundreds of anti-Israel protesters calling for the elimination of the Jewish state stormed Grand Central Terminal Friday night, furiously banging and kicking at a locked entrance of the station that was forced to temporarily close over the rowdy demonstration.

"The mob was part of a 'Flood Manhattan for Gaza' protest that initially converged on Columbus Circle earlier in the evening, where they set fire to an Israeli flag and taunted a small faction of counter-demonstrators before marching through Manhattan and splattering fake blood on the New York Times building.

"'We don’t want a Jewish state. We want ‘48!' the anti-Israel protesters chanted at the starting point, referring to Palestine before the establishment of Israel.

"'Settlers, settlers go back home! Palestine is ours alone!” the crowd yelled.

"'It is right to rebel. Israel, go to Hell!' others chanted."

If anyone should go to hell, it's these violent, big-mouthed, Jew-haters who know that they can get away with the most vile behavior because there are no consequences.

It makes me wonder: if these were Jews violently demonstrating their hatred towards Muslims, would that be tolerated and excused?  If these were white mobs violently demonstrating their hatred of blacks, would that be tolerated and excused?

You know it wouldn't.

Yes, COVID Is Still Here & It Still Kills

Andrew Nikiforuk, contributing editor at The Tyee, has written another excellent article about COVID, "We Interrupt This Mood of Denial to Update COVID’s Threat."

He has summed it up in 1 sentence: the silence about COVID; the blasé attitude by the public; the absence of masks; the very low numbers of people getting the latest vaccine.

Now we're heading into the holiday season with COVID, flu, RSV -- and apathy.

Those of us still being cautious are in the minority. One-way masking is not as effective as everyone masking. But I still wear a mask because  I'd much rather not catch the germs you are coughing in my face.

And Melanie Phillips wonders, "Just whose side is America really on?  Biden’s early support for Israel is turning into something more ominous."  We all predicted this.  Early support to appease Jewish voters, then  demands for a "pause" and "ceasefire" to appease Muslim voters & help Hamas regroup.

Disgusting Pro-Hamas, Anti-Israel Day of Rage

From Geller Report:  Look at this disgraceful protest being held today, the 85th anniversary of Kristallnacht.

"Terror-tied organizations across America are calling for planned disruptions. 'Shut it down for Palestine.' A number of schools and business located near Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, Elbit Systems are pre-emptively closing to keep their students and workers safe from these violent actions.

"'Wear black armbands' Like the Nazis.

"Destroying America in the cause of Hamas atrocities."

There is no excuse for this.  Let's just hope there won't be any glass broken again at Jewish stores and synagogues by this Hamas-loving, Jew-hating mob!

Deliberately Undermining COVID Vaccination Efforts

I recently read this disgraceful news, reported by Amy Maxmen, which describes "How lawmakers in Texas and Florida undermine Covid vaccination efforts; State legislatures and politicians are pressuring public health officials to keep quiet about Covid vaccines."

"Katherine Wells wants to urge her Lubbock, Texas, community to get vaccinated against Covid-19. 'That could really save people from severe illness,' said Wells, the city’s public health director.

"But she can’t.

"A rule added to Texas’ budget that went into effect Sept. 1 forbids health departments and other organizations funded by the state government to advertise, recommend, or even list covid vaccines alone. 'Clinics may inform patients that COVID-19 vaccinations are available,' the rule allows, 'if it is not being singled out from other vaccines.'

"Texas isn’t the only state curtailing the public conversation about Covid vaccines. Tennessee’s health department homepage, for example, features the flu, vaping, and cancer screening but leaves out Covid and Covid vaccines. Florida is an extreme case, where the health department has issued guidance against Covid vaccines that runs counter to scientific studies and advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

"Notably, the shift in health information trails rhetoric from primarily Republican politicians who have reversed their positions on covid vaccines."

This sounds criminal! Why would you deliberately hide crucial information from the public about the importance of the COVID vaccine?  Maybe this helps explain the dismal vaccination rate lately.

In the latest Your Local Epidemiologist newsletter,  Dr. Katelyn Jetelina also discusses this problem: "States are withholding vaccine information, And why they should be working in overdrive to do the opposite."

Exposés like this are precisely what's needed to get our public health system working the way it's supposed to. Keep up the good work!

Antisemitic Evil -- Even Against The Elderly -- in America

Imagine hating Jews so much that you'd even attack the home of a Holocaust survivor!

 "Holocaust survivor's Beverly Hills home vandalized amid spike in reported antisemitism."

"Renée Firestone, a 99-year-old Holocaust survivor, moved to the United States in 1948 in search of a new life.

"After living through the horrors of Auschwitz, where several of her family members were killed, she said she looked to the United States as a beacon of hope, a land where she could escape the antisemitism that had taken so much from her.

"But late last month, an antisemitic message was sprayed on the back of her apartment building in Beverly Hills, California, Klara Firestone, Renée's daughter who also lives in the building, told ABC News.

"'I was delighted that we are going to America because it can never happen again [there],' Renée Firestone told ABC News. 'Now, I see that it can happen.'"

Holocaust survivors have dealt with trauma their whole lives, and now they have to go through it again in America?  

Antisemites who don't even care about the elderly (like the fatal attack on the pro-Israel counter-demonstrator Paul Kessler) don't care about anyone else other than themselves. They've been taught to hate.

What kind of monsters are these?

Get Vaccinated Now!

I really don't know what these people are waiting for!  Ivermectin horse de-wormer isn't going to help.

"With Thanksgiving only two weeks away, now's the time to get protected against potentially deadly fall viruses.

"In an interview with CBS News, Dr. Mandy Cohen, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said this is the best window to get vaccinated to protect yourself and your family for the holiday.

"'We know we're going to see more flu starting to circulate, and more COVID, so right now is a great time for you to get vaccinated. That way, your body can build up its protection ahead of the holiday season,' she said.

"Cohen got her COVID shot last month and acknowledged COVID vaccine uptake in the U.S. is a little slow.

"'I know folks want to leave COVID in the rear-view mirror, but unfortunately it is still here, and is still causing folks to get very sick and even die,' she said."

Suffering the Consequences of COVID

This New York Times article shows how lousy people can still feel after "getting over COVID". 

"Inflammation can linger — people’s airways might swell, causing wheezing or coughing, or their sinus passages might puff up, causing congestion.

"Covid fatigue can drag on for weeks in some people, even after they test negative. Covid can also continue to disrupt your sleep, which can leave you feeling even more depleted."

"Goodbye to all that" is another brilliant column by Melanie Phillips, about how the Pro-Hamas collaborators are already destroying the United Kingdom's historic and touching Remembrance Weekend observances in honor of those who died serving their country.

To paraphrase lawyer Joseph M.Welch's response to red-baiter Sen. Joseph R. McCarthy: '"Until this moment. I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness.  You have done enough. Have you no sense of decency?"

Obviously, the Pro-Hamas, antisemitic hordes have no sense of decency at all, because their actions are threatening a moving ceremony to honor the war dead. How can a country so honor their dead while disrespectful, screaming, intimidating, enraged mobs threaten the peace and beauty of these days?

In her column, she writes:

"The picture below surely has to be one of the saddest and most telling illustrations of the state of Britain today.

"What you are looking at is a table set up on Saturday in London’s Charing Cross station, where people could buy poppies to be worn as a lapel pin in the days leading up to Remembrance Weekend in a few days’ time. That’s when the country commemorates British service members who have died in two world wars and other military conflicts since the onset of World War I.

"The group selling the poppies are typical of the British people for whom this weekend is a solemn rite of collective memory, an affirmation of the supreme sacrifice that so many have made to defend the nation and its values.

"But surrounding them are the ugly faces of the new Britain, those who have poured onto the streets in their tens of thousands to bellow their support for the annihilation of  Israel and the murder of Israeli Jews — people who call the genocide of Israeli Jews 'resistance' and Israel’s resistance 'genocide'.

"In London, the annual national service of remembrance will be held on Sunday when wreaths are laid at the Cenotaph by the Royal Family and political leaders, there is a two-minute silence and the Last Post is sounded.

"There is widespread anger and concern that this fifth anti-Israel, anti-Jewish display is to be allowed on the streets of London; there are fears that these mobs will desecrate the sanctity of either or both days over this Remembrance weekend.

"These demonstrations have not just been marked by the chanting of murderous slogans on the approved routes. The mobs have also turned the Tube, railway stations and other public spaces into a theatre of Islamic civilisational warfare, as you can see here, here, here, here, here and here.

"What has upset people so much is not just the murderous message of these demonstrations. It’s also the perception that Britain has become unrecognisable, with tens of thousands of people importing a foreign cause to produce menacing behaviour that is an affront to the rule of law and poses a particular threat to Jewish people, in flagrant disregard of public order laws and with the police unable or unwilling to stop it.

"What the government doesn’t seem to grasp is that these demonstrations aren’t just a protest about 'Palestine' but a jubilant display of Islamist supremacy over the UK, which is being fuelled by exultation over the murder of Israeli Jews and the supine UK response to these open calls for jihad and the associated show of Islamist strength. They represent an ecstatic escalation of the intended subjugation of Britain and the west."

Think of it: would YOU really want this obscenity to happen during our own Memorial Day observances?

The Insanity and Cowardice of Political Correctness

Not content to get rid of statues and names of the Confederacy; names of birds that honor their discoverers; and even good old math that is somehow considered "racist",  people are now going after Anne Frank, one of the most recognizable faces of the Holocaust:

"Anne Frank's Name to Be Removed From Day Care Center in Latest Woke Attempt to Erase History"

This is in Germany, and the excuse for removing Anne's name, according to the daycare center's director,  is that "parents with migrant backgrounds feel uncertain about the name and find it challenging to explain to their children." 

"Local mayor Andreas Brohm said the center would be renamed 'World Explorers' in a nod to 'diversity." 

No this is a nod to caving in to political correctness, and a fear of being called "Islamophobic" if these "migrants" are Muslims.

In other words, "diversity" is more important than history and truth; and Jewish Holocaust victims are just not diverse enough for anybody.

A daycare director with spine should have told the "migrants" to take a flying leap. Who cares what they think!

Activists:  mobs of collaborators who march to demand the eradication of Israel and the extermination of the Jews

Ceasefire:  a demand made by Hamas whenever Israel makes headway (also see Pause)

Disproportionate: any amount of weapons used by Israel in response to terror attacks & pogroms

Islamophobia: a baseless charge automatically directed at anyone who brings up the subject of antisemitism.

Palestinians: a fake name for Hamas voters who hate Jews and Israel
