But this is James Comey, age 64, formerly the Director of the FBI, who's old enough to know better.
I didn't buy his story that he just stumbled upon this "cool shell formation" on the beach. I for one have never seen a shell formation deliberately shaped into numbers.
What made it even more ridiculous was his explanation:
From CBS News: "Comey later deleted the image. In a follow-up Instagram post Thursday night, Comey wrote that he "posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message. I didn't realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down."
This "explanation" of why he deleted the original post just made it worse. He obviously deleted the original post because he knew he was wrong, but that explanation was so farfetched it just amplified the whole incident.
I hope the Secret Service really does pay him a visit just to make an example out of him and any other fools suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome.
