The Flag-Folding Story, continued
I was thinking about that flag-folding controversy again today. How is it that just one petty individual's complaints can bring the Veterans Administration to its knees? Why didn't they just ignore him? Instead of banning the whole ceremony, let those offended parties opt out of it, rather than ruining tradition for the majority of Americans. It's a moving ceremony we've all seen during the funerals of Presidents, for example. From what I heard, this lone whiner was offended by these particular words: "The eleventh fold, in the eyes of a Hebrew citizen, represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies, in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob." What is so politically incorrect about that?
