The Dumbing Down of Achievement
Here's a terrific piece by the always-perceptive Thomas Sowell regarding today's annoying habit of self-dramatization in sports, and in life: "... superficial attention-getters have replaced achievements that speak for themselves. Indeed, the whole notion of achievement is downplayed, if not swept under the rug."
