Townhall calls it "appalling": "A New York state high school English teacher who asked students to
imagine they were Nazis and give reasons why Jews were evil could be
reprimanded or dismissed, a school district superintendent said on
Friday." What's also appalling is that the teacher herself hasn't apologized and wasn't even named, and that excuses are being made, such as this one in a New York Times article: "Rabbi Donald P. Cashman of the B’nai Sholom Reform Congregation,
the father of three Albany High graduates, was more forgiving. 'Hypothetical situations are often effective teaching tools,' he said,
and debating positions one may not believe in can also be valuable." I wonder if excuses would be made if that teacher told the students to imagine they were slave-owners and give reasons why blacks should be their property.
