Name Shame

In the latest of a neverending stream of frantic name changes, the historic Washington and Lee University is actually set to remove the "Lee". Why not just erase American history completely while you're at it?

So what if your own last name is Lee? This is a very common name -- is everyone expected to change it?  What if your surname is Jackson or Johnston or Hill? And how about if your name happens to be White? If some people are upset by this political incorrectness, are you supposed to give a public apology and grovel?

When will this frenzy stop?
