And let's have some silence from Biden and Blinken today.

From CNN: Assad flees as Syria rebels capture Damascus
"The long rule of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is over, after rebels swept into the capital Damascus. The fighters declared the city “liberated” in a statement carried on state television. Syrians have been celebrating in the streets.
• Russia, one of Assad’s main allies, says he has left Syria and gave instructions “to transfer power peacefully.” His exact whereabouts are unknown.
• Syria’s prime minister said in a recorded message that the government stands ready “to cooperate with any leadership the people choose.” He was seen in a video being escorted by rebels. The rebels - who are led by Islamists - have said minorities will be protected.
• One US official told CNN that events in Syria mark the collapse of “Iran’s artifice” across the Middle East. The toppling of the Iran-backed Assad follows the decimation of key Tehran proxies Hezbollah and Hamas in conflicts with Israel over the past 14 months."

From Israel Hayom: Israel seized Syrian side of Mount Hermon. The IDF has deployed in the Golan Heights buffer zone as the situation unfolds rapidly in Syria.
"The Saudi outlet al-Hadath quoted a security official claiming Israel has captured the Syrian part of Mount Hermon, the strategic mountain overlooking the Golan Heights, the Galilee, and the Damascus area.
"This is the first time Israel has been on that part of the mountain since the 1974 Disengagement of Forces agreement, which was signed after the Yom Kippur War.
"According to reports, soldiers from Sayeret Shaldag, the Israeli Air Force's elite commando unit, were responsible for the capture of the Syrian side of Mount Hermon. The soldiers are now preparing defensive positions at the site.
"The IDF has emphasized that "the Israeli military does not intervene
in events taking place in Syria and will continue to act as required to
maintain the buffer zone and protect the State of Israel and its
citizens."
