Pet Peeve

Cell phones, and the people who babble on them continually. How do they have that much to talk about? Most of what I am forced to listen to is "What are you doing? Nothing -- what are YOU doing?" and other inane drivel. Somehow we all managed to get along with cell phones for years. Suddenly, everyone feels compelled to talk every minute of the day, even while going to the bathroom, even at work, even during funerals! The backlash is finally starting, however; I read yesterday about a woman ejected from a store because the sales clerk was forced to wait while she finished her conversation! I'm sure a lot of annoyed people, like me, got a vicarious thrill out of that story!
