"The Rape of Europa"

Last night on PBS, I saw the documentary "The Rape of Europa", about how the Nazis stole and plundered priceless art works and family heirlooms across Europe. At one point, someone commented that it was impossible to reconcile their love of art with their evil inhumanity. Towards the end, the film showed a Christian man who was reuniting Torah crowns and other artifacts with families of their original owners. He was emotional when he said that he rang the bells on the Torah crown to the owner over the phone. The film was extremely powerful, moving, and infuriating, and I signed up for the book at the library today.
