The Obsession With Celebrities

I felt the same way Joe Queenan does in his article about Ann Curry. I still don't know why this was considered important news and made so many headlines; but unfortunately most Americans are more interested in things like this (and probably Tom Cruise's divorce) than in the state of their own country.
