Also: apologizing after the fact is not an apology and is way too little, too late.

From Israelly Cool 8/22/25:
"The trend of Israel-hating medical professionals acting against the ethics of their profession continues.
"The latest incident? A doctor and a nurse in Italy who filmed themselves throwing away Teva Pharmaceuticals products in protest against Israel.
"The two perpetrators are Dr. Rita Segantini and nurse Giulia Checcacci, who work at a community hospital in Pratovecchio Stia, near Arezzo in Tuscany. And they might as well have thrown their careers into the trash.
"Segantini works as a family doctor under contract with the regional health authority, while Checcacci is employed through a private contractor. “They’re laughing, filming themselves on the job, in uniform, tossing things in the trash,” one commenter wrote. Another said: “We pay taxes for these drugs, and they treat them like garbage for social media likes.”
"On the X platform, one user called it “a national disgrace,” writing: “This is not free expression—it’s fanaticism. Anyone who throws away life-saving drugs should not wear a medical uniform.” Another added: “I hope you never need one of Israel’s life-saving medical inventions.”
"Deborah Bergamini, a lawmaker from the Forza Italia party and deputy vice president of the party, condemned the act as “ideological activism” and urged health officials to investigate and take disciplinary measures.
"The Southeast Tuscany Health Authority said it has launched an internal inquiry and “reserves the right to take all necessary steps to protect its reputation and the professionalism of its staff.” It stressed that the filming took place inside hospital facilities without approval.
"Segantini and Checcacci, willing to sacrifice all for their “principles,” have stuck to their guns.
"Just kidding. They have folded like a cardboard box:
"In a follow-up video, the doctor and nurse apologized again: “It was a symbolic gesture for peace. We never intended to hurt anyone or involve our employer. We are truly sorry.” Segantini added that the items were not medicines purchased by the health authority but free samples—such as wet wipes and supplements—that were placed in the trash “but immediately removed.” She insisted the recordings were made outside working hours.
"Because nothing symbolizes peace like throwing out potentially life-saving medication.
"Bye Felicia-tini.
"As for their “protest”, it is almost impossible to boycott Teva, given they are the world’s largest generic drug manufacturer. Even if the medication packaging doesn’t carry the Teva logo, Teva often supplies the active pharmaceutical ingredients used by other drug companies.
"Which means every time Segantini and Checcacci pop a pill for their mental illness, odds are good they’re swallowing the very thing they pretended to protest.
"Speaking about generic, these two look like they came out of a generic factory themselves."
