A Savage Remark

Michael Savage, a bit of whose radio show I got to listen to last evening, wondered why the media was no longer talking about the case of the Muslim who killed and wounded women at the Jewish Federation in Seattle. He said, and I agree, that if the crime were reversed, and a white racist had gone into a mosque and started shooting, it would be on the news continually, along with protest marches in the streets. Instead, the story has all but dropped off the radar. I guess when Muslims shoot Jews, it isn't politically incorrect enough to mention.

As for the killer, who is being referred to as "the shooter" (and whose Muslim identity is deliberately being ignored by the media) he is being portrayed as a nice boy in high school who obviously is suffering from "bipolar". Gee, isn't that the same thing Patrick Kennedy had after his drunk driving incident? Is this the new excuse now? If so, I don't buy it.

And Mel Gibson's self-serving apology reminded me of Ted Kennedy's after Chappaquiddick. It was especially crafted to get sympathy, and it doesn't work with me. However, it DID work with The UK Telegraph, whose headline is "Mel Gibson deserves pity, not pillory". Read this article, if you have a strong stomach.
