Terrorism: It's Bush's Fault

The closer we get to the 5th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, the more oblivious some people are becoming.

Molly Ivins has this column, written after the British plot was foiled, in which she says:
"We have nothing to fear but fear itself, especially since fear is now being fomented and manipulated for political purposes by a bunch of shameless hacks. Who is trying to make you afraid and why? This Karl Rove tactic is getting quite threadbare, in fact, and so much so that it is getting dangerously close to comedy."

Yes, it's very amusing. I guess George W. Bush and Karl Rove were also responsible for this German terror plot, as described at Little Green Footballs.

And don't forget what John Kerry said in 2004, that threats of terrorism have been exaggerated.

How anyone, having seen what happened on September 11, can still say these things with a straight face is a mystery to me.

Last night the History Channel had a program called "The Miracle of Stairway B", about how, by some miracle, the firemen and the woman they rescued survived the collapse of the World Trade Tower. See the description here
They also showed "The World Trade Center: Rise and Fall". No matter how many times I see that film footage of the 2nd jet flying into the Tower, I am shocked beyond belief. If those Towers had collapsed sooner than they did, and a little later in the day, the death toll could have been in the 10,000s. But even that wouldn't have stopped the conspiracy theorists and Muslim-excusers, I don't think.

Go here to see the September 11 Fifth Anniversary page on the History Channel's website, as well as the programming schedule.
