September 11 Redux

CNN.com to replay 9/11 attacks coverage

Says Lucianne.com in "must reads of the day",
"Should have been doing this once a week for the last 5 years".

I agree. Evidently, some people still need reminding. I get angry when I hear the criticism of the New York Police Department and the New York Fire Department. The attacks of 9/11 were unprecedented. Rather than talk about what the NYPD and NYFD didn't do, and what didn't work, why not talk about what they did do, and what did work, and how heroic they were, and how many lives they saved?

My brother in law was in the north tower. At about the 21st floor a fireman handed him a bottle of water. Because the ventilation was off, going down the staircase was very hot; so the rescue workers broke open the vending machines to give people drinks.
He realized that not too much later the man who had helped him, was likely killed in the collapse.
