More Holocaust-Related Antisemitism

The following is at Powerline, posted on 1-28-26 by John Hinderaker in Anti-Semitism, Media Bias

Like the Gov. Stein statement about "antisemitism and other forms of hate", this is an even worse example of political correctness, DEI, and political correctness gone crazy.

This omission should have been caught before publication, not afterwards when the damage to Jews was done yet again.

The Holocaust Without Jews

"The notoriously anti-Semitic BBC topped itself on Holocaust Memorial Day, with coverage that led to this memorable headline:

"This is the story:

"The BBC apologised on Tuesday night after introducing coverage of Holocaust Memorial Day without referring to the murder of Jews, with the omission described as “hurtful, disrespectful and wrong”.

"Jon Kay introduced the report on BBC Breakfast on Tuesday, saying Holocaust Memorial Day was “for remembering the six million people murdered by the Nazi regime over 80 years ago”.
***
"Danny Cohen, a former BBC director of television, said the failure of the broadcaster to reference Jews in introductions to some of its coverage marked “a new low point for the national broadcaster”. “It is surely the bare minimum to expect the BBC to correctly identify that it was six million Jews killed during the Holocaust,” he said. “To say anything else is an insult to their memory and plays into the hands of extremists who have desperately sought to rewrite the historical truth of history’s greatest crime.”

"The BBC is a disgraceful news outlet, but the real scandal is that British people are forced to underwrite it."
