I've been following the news of the heavy rains and flooding in the Northeast, because I have friends and family there and used to live there myself.
The contrast between the people affected by this disaster and those affected by Hurricane Katrina is very stark. The difference boils down to one word: character.
Unlike the people in New Orleans, the people in the eastern U.S. are neither attacking the government, demanding FEMA money, or looting and engaging in other thuggish behavior.
And because the people in PA and MA and MD and NY don't consider themselves to be victims, you will read little about them in the days to come.
