In the "mistakes were made" department, the comptroller of New York, speaking at a college commencement, extolled the virtues of NY Senator Charles Schumer by saying that he is such a tough legislator, he could even put a bullet between the eyes of President Bush!
Gee, that really makes me want to re-elect Schumer!
The comptroller's lame excuses and too-late apologies just make matters worse.
